Tire Sidewall problems of the 2002 GMC Yukon

1 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2009

The contact owns a 2002 GMC Yukon which has four b. F. Goodrich lt 235/75/r16 tires. The tires were purchased in 2008. He stated that there was a significant crack in the sidewall of all four tires that formed around the tread of the tire. There were no recalls on the tires pertaining to the specific type of failure. The VIN was rejected from the system. The current and failure tire mileages were under 25,000. The current vehicle mileage was 93,000.

2 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2009

Was driving approx 60mph on newly paved 4 lane highway (us 31). Vehicle began to make a noise and then shake. Front driver's side tire was completely destroyed with approx 80% of the tread and belt separated from the tire and numerous holes in the tire. Many sharp steel prong ends were sticking out of the tire and the separated tread/belt. Destroyed the wheel well covering. 2002 Yukon xl. Tires had been installed in March 2008. When looking at the front passenger side tire, it had numerous large cracks from the tread extending into the sidewall. To avoid having another blowout/separation, quickly replaced that tire and returned both to the dealer where purchased. Having the dealer contact cooper and inspect the rear 2 tires as well (visual inspection did not show the tread/sidewall cracks).

3 Tire Sidewall problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2003

Firestone tire exploded while driving speed limit too lake havasu, az, may 28, causing erratic control of vehicle. Appears sidewall dislodged from tire and and tread dislodged from base tire framing. Tire info: firestone wilderness le - p265/70r16 111s m/s; tubeless; other number on side of tire: dd726g g09r (e4) 027680 dot 8 x 72 wl2 . Damaged area shows a number ?4601? (? = denotes unknown numbers if anyin these places) damage to undercarrage of vehicle as well to the wheel well.
