general problems of the 2007 GMC Yukon - part 1

I was driving a dirt road in snow went to make a right turn onto road at a downhill angle and the airbags deployed on the side curtains all the way from front to rear.

We have received a urgent and important recall related to our airbag being a deadly threat when activated. This was in February 2021 and still there is no remedy to get rid of the deadly threat !!!.

The side air bags on the passenger and driver side front and back deployed while driving down the road. The driver side airbag hit my 19 year old son in the side of the face hard enough to cause his ears to ring. There was not a reason for the air bags to go off spontaneously. He had to pull to the side of the road blindly because he didn’t know if he had been hit by another vehicle. We have filed a complaint with GMC. This could have caused a serious wreck injuring my son or someone else on the road due to the shock and force of the air bags hitting him and the inability to see after they deployed. Yes it is available for inspection.

I was ran off the road causing me to hit a ground wire to a telephone pole damageing my truck bad and my air bags didn't deploy.

We are making payments on this vehicle from tri-united in lubbock TX. All the engine lights are on and the air bags are missing this vehicle body appears to be wrecked the hood isn't sitting right. The dealership even asked if we could have the vehicle inspected in which it failed the first inspection.

My vehicle is from texas and is yet to have the air bags replaced. Given the risk, what are my options?.

I have not received any more info for the air bag recall. Its been 13 years now. Please get this taking care of before some one gets hurt.

No one will get the parts in to repair my airbags and it's been years. Its as if they want me to get rid of my truck but I don't want to. There's also a recall on something smoking and the year starts at 2007 yet my truck isn't included which is very strange some I just had this happen to me on 2/9 and had to have my truck towed and repaired at american petroleum on quarterfield rd.

The plastic dash board has been cracking over the years. It is now breaking into jagged pieces that are free to fly around the passenger cabin. Cracked pieces around the air bag pose a potential problem to the eyes and face of passengers in the event of a crash. Electrical wires are also exposed to uv light causing premature failure. This vehicle has been meticulously cared for with no other major failures to speak of. I believe that the potentially dangerous dash situation has been caused by substandard materials used in manufacturing.

Takata recall, potential serious injury or death may occur with use of this vehicle. For two years I have attempted to have the air bags replaced and have been told that the parts are not available. Last attempt was 8-29-19.

Takata recall : I have been patient with this recall but now to is time to do something about this problem . We need to have these air bags replaced so we and my kids and my grandkids can travel safeyly on the roads of this country . Too long has this safety problem gone unaddressed while we wait for results but there has been none . What is it going to take more deaths and injuries to our loved ones before our safety organizations step up and do their job as they were hired to do . Why does a country like ours let their people go out every day in these unsafe vehicles and do nothing about it . Takata recall has not occurred for my 2007 vehicle. It is now 2019. I am original owner. When I have taken to dealer they state there is no recall. My husband has already received new airbag in 2007 chevy pickup.

Takata recall can not get a gm dealer in the dayton ohio region to replace my airbag recalled since may 2016. Have called dealers a few times. Last called August 6th 2019 and they still can not get it fixed.

The dash busted around the airbag and has also cracked on the driver's side which is probably caused by the airbag. I have had this car for 5 years and still can't get the airbags replaced?????.

Nothing has happened yet but there has been an open recall on this item for years and it still says no remedy available. It hinders my ability to sell or trade in my vehicle as there is an open recall.

Takita recall. I did a VIN search and found there has been an open recall for just shy of 3 years with no remedy available. What should be done?.

No remedy listed for the recalled air bags. Suppose to be done in 2017.

Takata recall started vehicle on 2-1-19 and after turning ignition on passenger air bag exploded out and the side panels followed. Vehicle was in park and had not been driven in a few days. It all happened extremely fast but I saw glovebox burst open and sparks fly out and the airbag sounded like an explosion! scared to death! I jumped out unsure what was going on and the side panel bag grazed my face! could have ended badly if happened while driving.
