3 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2018

04/27/18 fri morning driving home I hit a median with driver front tire, inwhich all my airbags deployed imediatly including side airbags and caused such a sudden panic distraction that I swerved and flipped my vehicle. I was pulled from the wreck luckily and taken by ambulance to the hospitol. My truck was completely totalled. My vehicle was in motion the entire time until it stopped rolling leaving the final position upside down. There was no reason these air bags should have deployed and they caused me to nearly lose my life. Normally jus a tire would blow in such a hit from tire. The first ones to deploy were all four window airbags then soon as I flipped the others went off and I was knocked unconscious. I was not aware there was a recall inplace and just recently bought this truck in Jan. 2018.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

Takata recall: can you give me any insight on when GMC recall 49151, passenger side airbag, will be resolved? I received the notice on August 08, 2016. When I received the notice I inquired with my dealer as to the possible completion date, but he laughed and informed me he had no idea of what I was even talking about. I have a 2007 GMC Yukon, on the recall list. I¿m afraid to drive the truck since being notified, and will most certainly not ride anyone in the passenger seat. So, I have a vehicle in my garage that has, for the most part, not been used since I received the notice on August 08, 2016. Any information you can provide about the pending resolution to this recall will be appreciated. Regards, jimmy strubb jstrubb@aol. Com.

13 Side/window Air Bag problem

Dash is cracked above the passenger side air bag as well as driver side above dash cluster, potentially causing high velocity projectiles in the event of airbag deployment. Vehicle was stationary when cracks occurred.

14 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

The front dash has cracked around the passenger side airbag, as well as around the speaker and over the steering column. The cracks initially started as small cracks a few years ago, but have drastically worsened over this past year and I now believe it is a safety hazard, especially if the passenger side airbag were to deploy. It's so bad that if it gets any worse the whole section between the speaker and passenger side airbag may break off.

16 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2012

While following another vehicle on an on ramp from one hwy to another, the vehicle in front of me drove directly over something laying in the road (stradeling the debris with it's tires). This caught me off guard and I made a quick swerve/evasive action to miss running over whatever it was laying in the road. All of my side airbags deployed. Needless to say, it scared the heck out of me and I didn't even realise what happened for another 1/4 mile or so. I called gm to complain and they had a so-called independent inspector come out and look at my vehicle (at the time it was at a dealership). I received a report back saying the computer sensed a potential rollover. Never was there a potential rollover. I just swerved to miss something in the road. There was no damage otherwise. Gm left it at that. No other investigation was done. After two years, I have yet to have repairs made, because it still irks me to pay for something that should have never happened.

17 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2007

On November 25, 2007, I was traveling on I-540, approx. 65 mph , a car pulled in front of me. When I applied brakes, vehicle "zig-zaged", I never thought it would roll over. Onstar called - I told them what happened and that I didn't need any help. About 20 minutes later going approx 45 mph. Ran over something, didn't seem as big as a pothole - both side airbags deployed. Onstar called thinking I had been involved in an accident. I told them what happened and that I was 10 minutes from home and that I could get there without calling for assistance. Had vehicle towed to dealership (autopark Buick, pontiac, GMC in wendell, nc. (I think it was towed on 11/29/07). Reported to gm, finally received a call to advise that it was my fault and that gm would not pay for the repairs, on 12/26/07. Requested a copy of the report in writing, which I finally received after 2 requests on 01/19/2008. Their report states that there was only 1 event - 44 mph - rollover sensor deployed the airbags. I called to ask that they review the information again or have the "recorder in the car" checked. I was told the file was closed. Contacted onstar and received a letter confirming the 2 events . Called gm back to tell them I had new information that supported the fact that there were 2 events, and that something was wrong on gm's end - either the recorder was bad or the data collected was accidentally entered incorrectly. I was told that the file was closed and would not be reopened under any circumstance. Vehicle still at dealership - not repaired in case another inspection needs to be made. I believe this is a defect and gm should be responsible for the cost of repairs.
