Takata recall - I am now receiving warning lights to "service my airbag" on my vehicles monitoring system. I have contacted the dealership as well as gm and they still have no fix for this issue. According to a petition they filed with your organization, they were to have a fix adopted by August 2017. It is now August 2019 and they have yet to supply a fix for this issue!! thank god I have not been in an accident where the airbag has deployed, neither do I care to wait until I have an accident. According to the representative at gm, "they can see that it is still safe to drive your vehicle". They have not inspected my vehicle, have no solutions as to replacing airbags that have been deemed faulty years ago, so how can they possibly say that my vehicle is safe?!?! I want to speak to someone about this issue and determine what recourse I have. I can be reached at 240-382-7534 thank you, jennifer deffenbaugh.

Takata recall: my local gm dealer refuses to acknowledge that they are responsible for repairing my defective airbag. I have contacted them multiple times, and they say they currently have no remedy for the recall. I guess the fact that my airbag warning light is on is a pure coincidence, as well. I just received a second notice that takata, the airbag manufacturing company is now filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. The notice says to immediately contact my car's manufacturer to have the problem remedied. I feel like this will be a lost cause considering they want to charge me $112 to diagnose my vehicle's airbag warning light. Just another example of gm's "impeccable" service. I feel like we're stuck between a rock and a hard place and my family's lives are at stake. We also had an Infiniti with the same problem and they promptly and professionally handled the situation. This has not been my experience with gm.

Two weeks ago a warning light went on indicating "service air bag". Took car in for service today and summary from tech was "performed tech two diagnostic scan. Found diagnostic trouble code b0087 supplemental inflatable restraint circuit. Further diagnosis is needed. " decided to explore via internet and found that there appears to be a service bulletin on this issue: NHTSA #10023755. If the dealer was aware of this, they did not state anything. Suggestion from dealer was that they replace the sensor and if that did not work they would need to replace the "sensor computer".
