1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2023

Travelling on an fm road, going 55 when Yukon began accelerating on its own, even when I took foot off the accelerator. Tapped brakes, thinking cruise control had engaged. Vehicle swerved violently. Speed kept increasing. Saw I was traveling 75mph! braked hard! felt as if acceleration was fighting against the brakes. Then spun out in the middle of the highway, spinning around 1 1/2 times while fully braking. Finally I slowed enough to throw it into park, regardless of what it might do to my transmission, I had to stop the vehicle. I came to rest straddling the lane I had been in and the oncoming lane, facing the direction from which I came. Traffic behind me had seen my struggles in time to stop back far enough that they weren’t endangered and there was no oncoming traffic at that moment. The fuel propulsion system (throttle?) seems to be at fault. There was no warning on the dash about any issue prior to this. The issue was real, a danger to myself and others. A mechanic examined the vehicle and discovered accumulation of debris on top of connector under the hood. He believed just enough water caused the conductivity needed to trigger the acceleration. State that these vehicles allow more intrusion from wheel well area than most. He thoroughly cleaned all connectors and no further issues have happened (yet!) further research uncovered a report on ‘sudden unintended acceleration’. . Read more...

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2020

Low oil pressure stop engine on dash with with oil and reset in motion on highway.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2020

On 10/08/2020 I was driving in heavy traffic at 5 pm when the engine lost power and the dash started flashing first it was turning off the stability control system and the next message was going into reduced engine power mode. At that point, the vehicle dropped to about 30 mph with full throttle and I had to maneuver thru traffic to get off the freeway. Not easy to do with a car that will only do 30 mph or so. With caution lights blinking and waving at cars I nearly got rear-ended twice before I could get off the freeway.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2017

When exiting highway coming up to a stop sign or stop light or just braking, the engine shuts off with no warning or sputtering, while still rolling with no warning. This usually happens when pulling a trailer. No power brakes or power steering. The engine has shut off 5 times in the last month and a half and taken to the dealership where I am told every time "can't duplicate so as of now nothing is wrong with the vehicle. I have had to steer clear of car in front of me several times as to not crash. Serious safety issue. Told by ed bozarth Chevrolet dealership in colorado, that since no code was produced and can't duplicate the issue, nothing they can do. Told the problem is unknown. I have seen multiple forums where same make and years are having same problem. . Read more...

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

My stabitity trac control lot popped on, check engine light, tire pressure light and now my low oil pressure light popped on saying stop engine.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2015

This is another incident that occurred the same week as my last complaint. While driving home from lunch I slowed the vehicle as I was going down a hill, this did not require any use of the accelerator pedal. Upon slowing down my vehicle displayed the following messages: "service traction control", "service stabilitrack", "reduced engine power". The SUV would not accelerate over 15mph requiring my to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle shook violently until I was able to put it in park and turn off the engine. After 10 minutes of sitting on the side of the road I stared the engine again. The SUV started right up but the "check engine" light remained on until the following day. Engine codes lead to a faulty throttle body position sensor which was replaced after the incident on 7/13. I took my vehicle to the GMC dealer today who informed me of the same problem yet again. These are either bad parts or a some bigger gm issue.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

While driving to work on the interstate I approached slow moving traffic. The SUV started right up but the "check engine" light remained on. This was a terrifying experience on a busy stretch of hwy 88 outside of chicago. I hope others do not have to go through this experience.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

2007 GMC Yukon denali. As I was driving. . . Engine light came on, following with vehicle stability control, traction control disable then reduced engine power and it wont let me drive more then 20 mph. Took it the dealer, replaced terminal wires, replaced bcm module ($1100). Two days later same lights comes back on dashboard. . . Took it to the dealer and they told me I need throttle body replaced ($631). Then even more issues came, as you stopping for the stop light, but the truck jerking forward while foot on break and as stopping it makes a thud noise when slowing down. Contact gm said they'll be able to help me out but then they decline for any help and simply told me there is nothing they can do. Now dealer is telling me I need breaks, ball joints, up control arms, shocks. Truck has under less then 100k miles and most of these should last more then 100k. Even dealer admitted by saying ive never seen Yukon denali going back. Its a saftely issue. My wife will not drive this truck any more with 3 kids in it and now it just sits in my garage while making payments to this truck. Its ridiculous! im sure there are someone out there that can help us and others who are going through the same issure before gm get a lawsuit and have blook on their hands.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2014

I took my daughter to volleyball practice and when I stopped at a red light the car was accelerating even though I had my foot on the brake pedal and it moved on a jumping mode to the front. I got so scared. The car moved forward we could have been involved on an accident on an intersection or hit the car in front of us. As that happened I noticed in dashboard the rmp counter was moving up as if it was were accelerating. It was pretty scary my kids and I don't feel safe to ride on the only car we own. I had a mechanic tell me I should take it to the dealer because it's a safety hazard. That it seem to him as a throttle system failure and it was very dangerous. When I turn vehicle on it happens too.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2011

Was driving down the freeway and the vehicle warning bell rung. On the vehicle heads up display read. Traction control, stability control and reduced engine power. The vehicle immediatly started shutting down with no power. This caused a near miss from behind from a tractor trailer vehicle.
