Tl the contact owns a 2008 GMC Yukon xl. While driving 65 mph, the contact noticed that another vehicle was swerving towards her vehicle. The contact had to depress the accelerator pedal to increase speed and avoid a collision; however, the other vehicle lost control and crashed into the contact's vehicle. The front frame, front passenger side, and rear frame of the contact's vehicle were damaged. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact was knocked unconscious and required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected by a mechanic friend who confirmed the air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the case had closed. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
