general problems of the 2008 GMC Yukon - part 2

Takata recall-I have contacted our local GMC dealer to have the airbags fixed for this recall and I have been told there are no parts to fix this potentially fatal issue and they have no idea when they will get the parts. . . Totally unacceptable. I want this remedied immediately.

Takata recall I have contacted and called every dealership about this airbag recall and they all tell me the same thing that it is at the mercy of general motors and they can not do any work until gm give the green light. I have tried to contact both gm and tk holdings by phone but to my surprise no answer so I emailed them both as well. I read that there is a deadline of December 27th 2017 and I do not want the run around. Thank you.

Takata recall I'm concerned with this recall for the safety of myself and two kids. I called our local GMC dealer and they said the parts were not available yet to get it fixed. I noticed that takata has filed for bankrupcy so I'm concerned that this might not get taken care of in a timely manner.

I understand that there is a safety recall for the air bag on my 2008 GMC Yukon xl denali. To correct the problem, I contacted the local GMC dealer, key Buick GMC, and was informed that the recall was set-up in July, 2016, however, there is no remedy available so far. Based on my understanding the air bag in the vehicle can explode. I assume that gm and/or the manufacturer of the air bag should place this matter as their utmost priority to come-up with the remedy before human lives are adversely effected. Please advise me how I can make my vehicle safer.

Takata recall - gm dealership states "no remedy". Mind baffling to me that they are recalling a critical safety component that impacts the lives of my family and they are allowed to state: no remedy. This is unacceptable to me and needs attention by your organization. Given that takata is going out of business, the likelihood of remedy is nil without your intervention. Please help!.

Takata recall I have been sent a notice saying that there is a recall and I would be contacted as to when it can be fixed. Still nothing and now I get this notice of chapter 11 bankruptcy. I am not sure at this point what action to take. Is my vehicle safe to drive? when will I get the recall notice from GMC that I can have it fixed.

We were notified, as we were getting service done on our vehicle, that there was an airbag recall on the passenger side. We were never informed about any impending recall. We then contacted our dealer, and we were told that as of may 2016, GMC did not yet have a solution to the problem. No further word on any corrective action to date.

My dash has cracked in two spots. One by the steering wheel and the other by the passenger airbag. There's a facebook where almost 7000 people are reporting the same issue. . Read more...

Dash is cracked and airbag is a takata. Gm will not take their responsibility because of corporate greed. When enough people die then they will act. Surprisingly since gm received government assistance you would think they care about people. But they only care about money.

Takata recall, I was making a right hand turn with the light when I was struck by another vehicle. I had the right of way, (not at faught) was the police report. There where 3 vehicles involved. Truck (1) hit car (2) and I was car 3. Was hit at right fender and door post and down the whole right side of car. Cracked windshield . Front bumper cover and hood where damaged along with right fender, rt. Passenger dore, rt. Passenger door, rt quarter panel and rear bumper cover. . I also was injured in accident. Had pinched nerves below neck and had 4-5 months of therapy.

Takata recall. . . Electrical is always messing up. Always fuel emmisions system light, which then messes up the radio that shuts off and on and gets warm, signals then do not click. The struts and shocks give me problems. I have spent a lot of money fixing one thing after another. This SUV is my means of transportation with my family of 8. I feel it is unsafe to be driving. The truck is affected with driving in a street, highway or making a turn.

Have a recall on the passenger takata airbag for over a year. Dealership indicates that they do not have the part and will not have a replacement part. Gm is stating it's safe to drive, even though 20 people have been killed related to the takata airbag system. Manufacturers should have an obligation on keeping their customers safe. We have owned this vehicle for 4 months. Takata recall local dealer continues to refuse to replace defective airbag involved in gm recall 49151 issued in a July 2016! this vehicle was purchased in louisiana and has spent much of its life there - louisiana is considered a critical, first priority area under you recall. I now understand that gm has submitted a third request for waiver - please deny and require gm to follow your order.
