Dashboard Crack problems of the 2008 GMC Yukon

My dashboard is severely cracked to where a piece has falling apart.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked and fractured in the middle. Also, the air bag and tire pressure monitoring system warning indicators illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 171,000.

Dashboard cracks around instrument cluster and front passenger air bag. My dashboard started to crack a couple or years ago and is now cracked all over. It is also a safety issue. I have tried to stop the cracks in different ways and it just continues. GMC should respond and change the dashboard of these vehicles. I asked the dealer in the last inspection for the repar. It is close to 1300 dollars and GMC does not respond. Clearly this is a quality issue.

Dash is cracked and may cause flying debris upon air bag deployment. Safety issue.

Dash is cracked and airbag is a takata. Gm will not take their responsibility because of corporate greed. When enough people die then they will act. Surprisingly since gm received government assistance you would think they care about people. But they only care about money.

Dash is cracked at the corner of the airbag and in front of the instrument panel.

I'm trying to see if gm is recalling for cracked dashboards.

Takata recall, front passenger airbag inflators are defective. The inflator can degrade over time , especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. Plus my dash is cracking. The dash has cracked so much that the air bag ares is pushed up.

I noticed while driving my dashboard has two cracks one on the hump where steering wheel is and the other on passenger side airbag. The crack on drive side is huge. And in the middle of dashboard where the air vent is there is now starting to be a separation.

Top dash board cracked adjacent to air bag thereby possibility interfering with air bag deployment. A safety hazard. A design and manufacturing problem. Not of merchantable quality or fit for the purpose, as these unit are sold throughout the us for all climates,.

Cracks in dashboard , around airbag. After researching internet seems to be a common problem. I called GMC 1-800 # they said they had never heard of such a problem. . Look it up its all over the internet. .

Cracked dashboard, deeply concerned about airbag safety if deployed due to proximity to crack and sharp edges adjacent to the passenger airbag. Door handles falling off, even after replacement. Fear of unlawful entry into car. Gm unwilling to correct substandard parts.

Dashboard is crack for no reason but defective. The vehicle was stationary when it happened.

We had arrived home from shopping that evening. My girlfriend was the last to exit the vehicle, because she was going to each side picking up trash within the vehicle. The dash wasn't cracked, two days later she entered the vehicle to run errands and notice the dash cracked she returned to the house and questioned everyone that had been in the vehicle that day and no one notice the crack.

2008 Yukon dash beginning to crack over instrument panel and in corner of passenger airbag. Worried that this may have an effect on my airbag operation. Have been trying to get it repaired but all dealerships say the are always backordered.

Plastic dashboard is cracking. GMC dealer quoted a $1,000. 00 replacement cost. Dealer proposed my cost would be $600. 00. Same dealer replaced cracked dashboard once before at no cost to me. This certainly appears to be a manufacturer's defect but dealer disagrees.

Crack forming on dashboard near left corner of airbag. My denali is always parked in a garage and I started noticing it last month. I've seen other people post their dashboard pics with the same crack.

I have a large section of my dash pad broken on the drivers side. I also have a crack on the passenger side. This was not caused from abuse but from inferior materials. It appeared sometime in 2015 with about 130,000 miles on it. I have owned it since new. My concern is in the event of a crash, along with the dangerous takata airbags that I'm still waiting to be replaced, will plastic be sent through the air from airbag deployment?, or will we wait for someone to be injured or killed to get gm to resolve this situation. By the way gm has sent me a recall notice and told me they are waiting on parts. That has been over 3 months ago. I also have another truck for airbag recall. Just for the record my wifes 2007 chevy silverado 1500 received a crack in the dash at about 80,000 miles. This is an epidemic but I sure gm will escape again just like in the past. It takes one small fragment in the right place such as an eye to change someones life forever. Just think if it was someone you loved sitting in that truck.

Dashboard cracked near passenger airbag, also fractures around driver side vent and center channel speaker.

Cracked dashboard in 2 places. Including a crack into the passenger side airbag. I'm very concerned due to having two 2 year olds in my car. The cracks began approximately 2 years ago. Our Yukon has regular maintenence and garage kept. I am very concerned this will cause my airbags to potentially engage!.

The dashboard in our Yukon has cracked just in back of the airbag. The concern is if the airbag ever has to deploy, the airbag will either tear rendering the airbag useless, or the dashboard will shatter sending plastic pieces throughout the front and back seats at a high rate of speed. I've done enough research to know this is a wide spread problem, yet gm is only offering to pay for half of this expensive replacement. In the mean time I have parked this vehicle and will not allow my wife to drive this with our two children.

The upper dashboard keeps developing cracks in the plastic around the passenger side airbag. I see this as a safety issue. If the airbags were to deploy, I don't know how much additional damage to the passenger due to broken pieces of plastic dashboard flying at the passenger.

Our 2008 GMC Yukon denali xl has developed 3 separate cracks in the dashboard. One is right in the middle of the top of the passenger side airbag, one is a very large crack near the windshield and running up over the instrument panel and one is on driver side near large crack at instrument panel. We have concerns if the passenger side airbag ever deploys, sharp pieces of the broken dash may break loose and injure passengers in our vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that a crack developed on the dashboard near the driver side air bag. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Cracked dashboard on my 2008 GMC Yukon xl 1500. I have two big cracks along side the drivers side console and one large crack running along the passenger side air bag unit. Dealer will not do anything about it, dealer tells me I have to replace this at my cost out of pocket.
