Side/window Air Bag problems of the 2009 GMC Yukon

While driving, I started hearing strange rattling noises from the dashboard. We I inspected the dash board, I noticed it was cracked by the upper left corner of the passenger side airbag on both sides. I'm concerned for my family's safety. Should the airbag deploy, the cracked dashboard will most likely explode, possibly causing more injury than the airbag was designed to avoid. This appears to be a common complaint from gm customers. While I recently paid to have my dash replaced, I'm hoping gm will issue a recall to address this issue and I will be reimbursed for repairing this defect.

While I was driving, I was hearing strange cracking. Noises from the dashboard for 2 days. Then I looked at the top of the dashboard, and it was cracked by the upper left corner of the passenger side airbag and behind the steering wheel. Should the airbag be deployed, the cracked dashboard will explode, possibly causing more injury than the airbag was designed to avoid. Hopefully, GMC will address this in a recall.

I have brought my vehicle into the shop a few times, no fix available, I have contacted gm customer service they stated they have no idea when this can be fixed, my dashboard has cracked around the driver side airbag section - they say not to worry.

Dashboard is cracked in upper left corner of the passenger side airbag. The cracked part is very sharp and will likely year the airbag if it deploys durning a crash, which is a huge safety concern. Also, it seems very brittle and the force of the airbag deployment could send flying shrapnel into passengers faces.

Dash cracked on the top right corner of the passenger side air bag. Possible safety issue of airbag not being held in properly now, or sharp corner of cracked dash cutting passenger in the event of a possible airbag deployment.

Crack in dash beside passenger side air bag. Crack seemed to appear overnight with no trauma to the dash at all. Vehicle has been garage kept. I am very concerned that in the event that the airbag deploys, shrapnel from the cracked dash will be thrown into my passengers' faces causing serious injury.
