general problems of the 2010 GMC Yukon - part 1

I was in a head-on collision (t-bone) going over 40 mph. Despite the severity of the collision no airbags deployed and both front seatbelts failed. Error codes: b0052:00 deployment commanded; b0015:04 driver seat belt buckle tensioner deployment loop open; b0022:04 passenger seat belt buckle tensioner deployment loop open. I have a police report but it exceeds the 10mb limit.

The dashboard on our 2010 GMC Yukon was cracking. While driving to pick up my daughter from school, the dashboard center section calapsed inside the dashboard. It was very alarming and is leaving the airbag case exposed.

Dash is cracked scared that sharp objects may fly into my family face if air bags are deployed the truck lost all power and left me and my daughter stranded right in the middle of traffic about got hit thank god we didn't gm needs to take care of these matters and take it seriously people could be seriously hurt or killed and if I hit a bump my cruise control will shut off automatically as if I pushed the button but I never touched anything.

The open recall on this vehicle cannot be complete without the customer being fully responsible for damage that might be caused during the recall repair. Gm is advising all dealerships to force customers to sign a waiver if they have the recall work performed releasing gm and the dealer from all responsibility of any damage done to the dashboard. If the dashboard is damaged and has to be replaced then the customer is faced with a more than $1000 repair job therefore the customer must choose between feeding and caring for their family or risking the passenger being seriously injured or killed due to the faulty airbag issue. Gm should stand behind the decision they made to use cheap plastic for their dashboards on this vehicle instead of punishing their customers and costing them more money or risking injury or death to passengers.

Friday night. On March 26 while driving on a city highway, after crossing a railroad track- my airbags deployed while approaching a red light occupied with several vehicles. Managed to avoid hitting anything and immediately pulled over in a local grocery store parking lot. That was scary.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Dic is stating service air bags. Local dealership states GMC will not honor recall yet as of 2016.

My wife was in an accident where the at-fault driver ran a red light and t-boned her drivers side front door and pillar area while crossing an intersection. Our car was hit hard enough to where the floor board and fire wall are wrinkled. Not one air bag deployed. The Toyota truck that struck my wifes car had it's air bags deployed. The auto body shop is telling me, because of the hard impact the vehicle is a total loss.

My dashboard has cracked and is now in many pieces. I know it is expensive to replace so I've glued and taped it together to the best of my ability. The dash rattles and shakes throughout any trip I take. I love my car! I want it to be �healed�. It's very distracting to drive with your dash making all that noise. If I'm ever in an accident, even ever so small, I'm sure parts of that dash will go flying and hurt the driver and/or passenger. I also don't know how safely contained my dash-airbag is. My speaker and gps are also on that dash and are no longer installed where they should be causing more problems in their new locations which could result in something else not functioning like it was designed to be. I take care of my vehicles with regular tuneups and replacements where needed. This is beyond my control and is a serious flaw in this vehicle.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v050000 (air bags) and took the vehicle to a local dealer to be repaired. The dealer declined to service the vehicle under recall due to the dashboard being fractured. The dealer and manufacturer informed the contact that the recall repair would be performed once the dashboard was replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Takata recall: I first received notice of the recall in 2017. I have been checking periodically for an update for the fix for this recall. I checked again today and it the website states that the recall is incomplete, remedy not yet available. So myself and my family are riding daily in an unsafe vehicle and no one seems concerned about remedying the situation. I would like someone to tell me what can be done to fix this situation.

Noticed cracks in dashboard. One over the inst. Panel on the drivers side. The other is on the passenger side right up to where the air bag is located.

I bought my 2010 Yukon denali used from a local used car dealership in birmingham, al. When I purchased the vehicle the dash looked to be fine. Early in the summer I began to have cracking right above the instrument panel and quickly soon after noticed a lot of cracking around the airbags. This makes me very nervous if I were to be in an accident; what would happen with the dash pieces? they would become projectiles. After researching the internet it became apparent that this a known issue with several of the GMC family of suvs for about a 5 year period. Gm has even changed the design of the replacements due to the cheap workmanship of the original product. This should be recalled as a safety hazard.

My plastic dash board is badly cracked in multiple spots, this is a safely concern of mine due to the fact that I always have passengers with me, my wife, children, family and friends. I worry that if an airbag deploys the plastic will fly off at a high speed and harm someone worse than the collision impact. Please take this complaint into consideration. Thank you ryan waganer.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated he did not receive recall NHTSA notification letter campaign number:16v381000 ( air bags). The contact took vehicle to regal Chevrolet located at 925 bartow rd, lakeland, FL 33801(863) 588-4010 and to get it service and was inform passenger air bag needed to be replaced and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. Takata recall. No remedy has been done to date, and a call to the gillman dealership in harlingen and san benito, texas produced no results. The harlingen gillman dealership said that "no repair or remedy is available at this time through gm".

Cracks in dash that could effect airbag deployment and/ or send pieces of the dash flying towards me in the event of a crash.

Cracking has begun on the dash of my Yukon. This seems to be a common problem with these vehicles. Although not as bad as I have seen it on other people's vehicles, the problem will eventually morph into a major safety issue.

Dash is cracked in 2 spots, around air bag on passenger side and over instrument panel on drivers side.

Upper dash around passenger airbag is cracked, apparently from online information a common and wide spread problem. Crack in dash is a safety concern if airbag deploys. Possible fragments from dash will injure passengers or others in vehicle should airbag deploy.

I received notice of the takata airbag recall and contacted my local dealer, handy dealership in saint albans, vt who informed me that there were no replacement airbags for my vehicle and that they could do nothing for me. The dashboard crack all the way across,over the airbag and the top of the control panel t.

2010 Yukon denali has 87,000 well below the average and two cracks formed. One on the cluster side the other on the passenger side next to the air bag. This could potentially be a safety hazard in the event of a crash the air bag deploying and send parts of the dash out towards the occupants. My vehicle stays in the garage when not in use and also have the sun shade for it.

Takata recall - heritage GMC in rockwall, TX (75087) still doesn't have airbags that they can put in to replace mine.

My vehicles dashboard is cracked in 2 different locations. I am worried about how this will affect the air bag because it is cracked around the location of the airbag. I am concerned about the safety of myself and my children in the event if, god forbid, we are involved in an accident.

Takata gm recall 49151 notification dated July 2016. No corrective action has been taken by gm and now there is a serious crack in the dash which is a growing concern for my safety involving the structure and air bag issue.

There is a recall as the airbags are dangerous and you have not authorized the work to be done and if states you do not have the parts to do the necessary correction. When can this recall be corrected ????.

Takata recall - not only am I under the recall for my airbags that the dealer tells me that there is not a fix for yet on my car, but now I walk in to the garage today and my dash board has cracked around the airbag and up over the drivers side controls. How dangerous is this now that the dash has cracked, I have a crap air bag and now I'm seriously thinking my family is at risk on this should we get into an accident.
