general problems of the 2011 GMC Yukon - part 2

I continue asking for the replacement of these airbags and the dealership continues to claim that the fix is not available.

Takata recall- I am stull waiting for the repair on my airbags. I havent been in an accident and surely dont want to get injured with the faulty airbags!!!!.

Received a letter of recall of the airbag in my vechile that carriers a small baby and this is unexseceptable. I expect my vechile to be safe.

I would like this fixed ASAP as this airbag issue is especially volatile in hot and humid weather which is the only weather where I live!.

Dash is cracked near passenger air bag and obove instrument cluster. This dash has already been replaced one time by gm for the same problem.

My Yukon dash is cracked in 2 places. The dash is flapping due to the weight of the speaker. I am concerned about having an accident and the airbags deploying and sending shards of plastic everywhere. I have young grandchildren. This is not a cheap vehicle. We bought the best. I am shocked this is not a recall. I am very concerned.

There is a large crack in the dashboard. The crack is located over the area over the driver's air bag which is a safety concern. If the air bag would deploy, broken pieces of plastic could harm the driver as the safety features are weakened. Crack occurred when vehicle was parked in a garage. No one , nothing caused the dashboard to crack, it is a defect.

Takata recall: I am wanting to know when the recall will have a remedy? I had an accident in Dec 2016 and the air bags didn't deploy. I had a pretty severe wreck running into 3 vehicles with substantial front end damage including broken tire rod. Below is just a picture of the damage. Body shop was in disbelief that the airbags didn't deploy??.

Crack in dashboard running from drivers side all the way over to the passenger air bag. I feel like this would be a danger if the passenger air bag were to deploy. I also feel that this is a factory defect. I would appreciate very much if you could help with this problem. Thank you teresa vaughan.

My takata recall comes back as "incomplete - working on a solution". This has been going in for years. Is my car safe?.

I have a 2011 Yukon xl, dash cracked below the airbag and was replaced under warranty in 2012. On November 13, 2016 the new dash cracked above the airbag. I am currently fighting with the dealership and GMC corporate. I'm being told that as a second owner GMC will not replace the dash, regardless that I've put 55,000 of the 66,000 miles on the vehicle and have owned 90% of its time on the road. From everything I've read, the dash will become a projectile if the airbag is deployed and quite possibly seriously injure any vehicle occupants. This is a very common, dangerous situation that GMC needs to correct via recall.

The plastic dashboard is cracked on top of gauge cluster. I am concerned the dash may shatter in a crash if the air bags deploy due to the crack causing the entire dash to be compromised. . This is a safety issue should a airbag deployment happen. I have noticed the dash has been cracked for about a year but didnt find out until today that it has been an ongoing issue with other gm owners.

Severely cracked dashboard in multiple places. Extremely concerned about the safety of my family should the airbag inflate, or due to the cracking if it would even operate properly. The crack gets worse every day due to the continuous vibrating of the entire dashboard while driving. Please remedy this before someone gets severely injured or worse. This is a family vehicle, mostly driven by families with 3 or more children, please consider this strongly and fix this problem immediately.

2011 GMC Yukon. Consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair front passenger airbag recall, dealership refuses to repair multiple cracks in dashboard.

The dashboard of my 2011 Yukon is cracking in multiple locations, including around the airbag areas, creating a hazard if the airbags were to employ.

I have a 2011 Yukon denali and the dash has cracked and I am worried about the air bags. I am not sure why or how this happened, but it has happened to over 6000 vehicles (please see facebook page - 07-13 gm cracked dash safety hazard for all trucks) and GMC is not standing behind this problem.

Takata recall we received a recall letter and scheduled an appointment with beck and masten for today to have this addressed. I was contacted this morning and told that no parts are available and my appointment was cancelled. We contacted gm and spoke with mary, then shane and finally brenda and we were told that until there was an "event" (which I interpreted as a death) that there was nothing that GMC would do to remedy the issue. Brenda refused to escalate any further in gm after being asked 7 times for her boss's information.

Tamara recall: was informed by both the dealership and GMC customer service that there is no remedy at this time and no time frame a repair will be available. I was informed not to have a passenger in the front passenger seat of my vehicle in case of a fronttill impact the airbag could cause death or serious bodily injury. So in summing it up. I can't have anyone in the front passenger seat. Really that's the best answer from takata,GMC, and the highway admin.

My GMC denali 2011 dashboard suddenly cracked in two places -they are clearly stress cracks with no support underneath. One crack is on the corner of the passenger air bag, other above steering wheel. Should the pass airbag deploy, I'm not sure if it would work properly. There are hundreds of identical situations with these models in particular. GMC offers no compensation because there are 100s of complaints out there regarding this issue, maybe more. Websites are organized for GMC cracked dashboards! this vehicle has no accident history. It cracked randomly. The dash needs to be replaced because the cracks are growing with the vibration of the car while in motion. Thank you.
