1 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2021

The problem started a couple of years ago as a small crack in the dashboard at the upper left corner of the airbag. The crack widened and lengthened after replacement of the air bag last year. Then the dash cracked earlier this year at the crown above the instrument cluster. It has completely separated and is nearly 12” in length. Not only does it rattle to the point of driver distraction, but I would think there is a high risk of shattering during a collision potentially causing facial lacerations, blindness and the like. I really don’t want to wait to find out. According to carparts. Com, this is a well known issue with gm trucks, suburbans and Yukons from 2007 to 2014 and gm has failed to make good on the problem.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2017

Cracked dashboard.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2017

Will follow up with more info, I live in the north east and have spoken with tech's at gm dealers and they have stated that its just a cold weather issue so gm wont fix the issue, my vehicle has had 8 or 9 door handles replaced the fasteners inside of door are plastic and water gets in there freezes and cracks plastic then door handle basically comes off in you hand, gm refuses to stand behind it and soon wants to charge me approx. 180 every time this happens again they have replace 8 or 9 already and its a 2012, I feel this is both a safety issue and a basic faulty product, design on gm's part that they will not fix.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2016

The contact owns a 2012 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the dashboard was fractured on the passenger side over the air bag, and along the driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2016

The plastic dashboard structure of the front dash (abs plastic) is cracking and separating spontaneously. Large crack developed in from of the driver and is expanding with multiple offshoots causing the dash structure to split in two and is in danger of fragmenting. Crack occurred while vehicle was stationary and is growing each day.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

The contact owns a 2012 GMC Yukon denali. While attempting to open the front driver's door, the handle fractured. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (jim murphy, 3000 walden Ave, depew, NY 17043, (716)-684-8900) and the handle was replaced. The contact stated that the failure occurred on eight separate occasions, and all four door handles failed and were replaced at some point since 2013. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 30,000.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Starting in Aug 2012 I have had to replace all four door handles and as of today started on the second round of replacing the defective door handles, they continue to pop out when you open the door. I have been told there is no solution from GMC on this problem. When you spend that kind of money on a vehicle the door handles should not fail all of the time. When the vehicle is out of warranty I will be out big bucks every time this happens and that is wrong. I have the vehicle one year and this is the fifth set of door handles I am having replaced.
