Cracked dashboard in several places including ,passenger airbag posing a safety concern.
Dashboard has excessive cracking in multiple areas.
The dash has cracked around the air bag deployment system, flopping around with indifference. Concerned it will impair the deployment of the bag in a collision. This car is covered and kept from the elements in san diego. Only has 77k miles.
2013 GMC Yukon denali has a cracked dashboard in 2 places. It was making a loud screeching noise and took in to our local dealer where it was purchased. They quoted approximately $1,300 to replace the dash.
I have three cracks on the dashboard. 2 above the steering wheel and one at the top left corner of the passenger air bag. 2 of them happen while the vehicle was sitting still and the other happened while going down the street.
Dash board cracked in multiple places. If airbags deploy, shards of the dashboard will go flying. After research this seems to be a common problem with GMC.
I have 3 cracks in my dash. One is about 6 inches and the other 2 are about 4 inches.
The dashboard of our 2014 GMC Yukon denali has major cracks in it, especially around the airbags. The truck is well taken care of, and has covered parking. There have been no accidents in the car, and we are the only owners.
My dashboard has cracked in several locations and is getting worse. No force or specific incident caused the damage.
Dash is cracked in multiple places, around air bag.
My wife's dash all of a sudden cracked and has jagged pieces that could potentially become a projectile causing serious injury or death if an accident was to occur. I have been informed that this is a issue that is occurring in all the 2008-2014 models; and gm has yet to issue a recall.
I noticed a crack to the right of the instrument cluster and then later noticed a crack near the passenger-side frontal airbag when my SUV had about 59,000 miles on it. The cracks have grown and are now causing complete separation. I took my Yukon to ewing GMC on 4/29/2019 where they acknowledged that there is a design flaw however it wasn;t considered a safety issue and thus not covered. They quickly handed me a $1200 quote to replace it. I do not see how a separated dash (especially near the passenger airbag) is not a safety concern. If my passenger airbag goes off with the dashboard in the state it is now, dangerous shards of plastic from the dashboard will go flying and become potentially lethal projectiles.
Cracked dashboard. One crack over the drivers side dash one also on the passenger side just above the airbag.
Dashboard cracked on corner of airbag.
Cracked dashboard.
My dash board cracked above instrument panel, while pulling out of parking lot at work. 4 years old 46,800 miles.
Dashboard cracking by passenger airbag and on top driver side dashboard.
Crack in dash near airbag. Reading this is a common issue. Afraid this will interfere with the safety of the air bag deployment in the event of an accident.
Dashboard cracked.
There are 2 cracks in the dashboard, 1 above the steering wheel instrument panel and one at the corner of the passenger side airbag. They appeared out of nowhere and without any accompanying motor vehicle crash or other physical cause. I found the cracks as I was wiping the dashboard off with a microfiber towel. The crack over the instrument panel grew approximately 3 inches while I was driving to the dealership. I was told that since my warranty was expired (expired on 12/06/2016) and I was over the warranty mileage (my mileage was 36180, warranty only good for 36000) that my vehicle was not covered and I would have to pay over $1800 + tax to replace. I have searched online and found similar gm vehicles have had the same problem, and with cracks in the exact same place. This is a vehicle defect and given the fact that it's so close to the passenger side airbag presents a safety concern that the whole dashboard could be dislodged and become a flying hazard should the airbag inflate during a crash.
This is not about what happened it's what could happen. I have a 2014 Yukon with less than 60,000 miles that has a crack near the passenger side airbag. I'm very concerned with the airbags potentially being torn if deployed, or plastic being projected if the airbag ever has to be deployed. I feel this is a safety issue. I have reached out to GMC only to be told it's cosmetic and won't be covered, regardless of what I think or the concerns I have the case is closed. There is a facebook group with over 6,500 followers that have similar concerns with all concerns falling upon deaf ears. I'm hoping a recall can be put into place to potentially save lives. I'm praying people don't have to die for this to be considered a valid issue. I don't know what caused the issue, poor manufacturing, air bag not properly installed, or what. I would love for some research to be done as well.
The dashboard cracked next to the passenger airbag and on top of the instrument cluster.
Steering column makes noises when turning the steering wheel cracked dashboard.
Dash cracking GMC wont do any thing about it if air bag would go off plastic pieces will fly everywhere dealership wants $1400. 00 to replace it its defiantly a design problem.
Both rear windows are loose and rattle when cracked or open. Sounds like they may fall out when opening & closing doors if they are down or cracked.
Dashboard has two cracks. One is by the passenger airbag and the other is above the steering column. The one above the steering column is becoming worse as time progresses. The vehicle was not in motion when I noticed the cracks.
Dashboard has crack. One crack is next to the passenger airbag and the other is above the steering column. The crack above the steering column has become progressively worse as time progresses. The vehicle was stationary when I noticed the cracks.
