1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2025

I bought a car in early 2024 ive had it for 1. 5y I recently went to trade it in for something more suitable for me and they ran a carfax and mileage rollback popped up and I had no clue to begin with. They rolled back 100,000 miles on the vehicle. They’re blaming the finance company but they can’t because the finance company never had the vehicle in there possession.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

I purchased a 2015 GMC Yukon in March 2024 I drive the vehicle 9 mons, 7500 miles the vehicle has been in service at my local dealership since Dec 13, 2024, for engine and transmission replacement, I have had the vehicle back 3 weeks not the warning light and service warning chime for the "service trailer brake system is on, I have not ever use a trailer with the vehicle, I was told the vehicle needs a wire harness, I have read this a problem in these vehicles that has not been addressed GMC with a recall, I have put a lot of money in the vehicle. This is an well documented failure in the trailer brake system that gm should repair at no cost to the consumer.

Steering jerks sometimes transmission would not go into gear just raves up and then there’s times when it drive normal transmission bangs shifts hard stutters late shift driver assist blocked.

“service trailer brake system” indicator light and alert continue happening. As of this weekend, my rear driver side taillight has begun going in and out/off and on.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

My car is giving me all kinds of warnings, parking assist off, rear back up, trailer brake, the radio sounds go off, blinker sounds go off, while trying to park power steering locks up, it will die in the middle of a turn. It’s doing everything the 2015 recall was created for. I do not think my car was fixed during the recall period. It is very hazardous.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2022

I was driving down the highway and out of no where I hear this loud kaboom! I ducked thinking something just hit me and pull over but here glass tinkling around. I automatically know it is my sunroof so I get out and look and my sunroof exploded. (looked like it was pushed up. ) luckily I had the inside part shut or I and my passenger would have been covered in glass.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2022

Trailer assist error. Brakes not working. Ac compressors been replaced and the fan runs after the vehicles off and ac only blows warm air.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2022

Trailer brake system keeps beeping and nothing is wrong, had it checked out several times.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2022

The trailer brake system displays on dash every 10 seconds, keeps on dinging loud and will not clear while im driving. . It just started out of knowhere and I never used the trailer system or towed anything sinced I purchased this truck. I saw several complaints on this same issue/promblem. I just spent nearly $800 on front brakes and rotors. I shouldn't have to come out of pocket to get this resolved. Gm needs to fix this problem!!! like I mention, I never used the trailer system at all and never will. I drive a 2015 Yukon denali SUV, been having problem also with the jerking of the vehicle when its put in drive. The dealer says that this is normal, soagain somethings not right.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2021

Vehicle has a vibration in the gas pedal and shifts hard at times. The whole vehicle shakes. Even after I purchased a new set of tires I took it back twice thinking it was out of balance but that was not the case. Beyond aggravated with this vehicle and its issues!.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2021

I was driving my 2015 GMC Yukon a light illuminated on the dashboard. I pulled over at a convenience store. Got my children out of the car. Once out of the vehicle I noticed smoke. Within the matter of 2 mins the truck was engulfed in flames.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2021

Air conditioning stopped working.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2021

The air in our 2015 Yukon has went out and is constantly blowing warm air. Itwill not hold freon. The temps in las vegas get into the triple digits. My 78 year mother constantly uses the vehicle to get places. I have researched the problem and seems to be a constant problem with the design of the ac condenser and hose design. We have been smelling freon for some time so it must have been slowly leaking out. This should be a recall problem since so many people have had the same problem and is definitely a safety problem here in desert. The problem is constant, in motion or sitting still.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

When driving between 40-70 miles an hour. I feel a vibration somewhere in the vehicle. The vibration feels like u are rolling over rumble strips. This happens time and time again on the highway, while in motion only.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2020

Purchased a 2015 Yukon denali back in November 2019. Since purchasing the vehicle we have had to replace the battery, transmission, ac compressor and expansion valve (which still isn't working correctly, because it doesn't blow cold air), and the black panels that are in between the windows. Also, both tail lights have decided to quit working. . . . Which concerns me greatly because cars behind me don't know when I am stopped or applying the breaks. Stopped or have my foot on the break.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2020

While driving approximately 60 mph on a deserted flat stretch of road surrounded by farmland, my sunroof suddenly exploded. The screen was open to provide light but the glass was shut. No other cars were nearby nor were any hills where a rock could fly from. It was just sudden. It sounded like a loud explosion and suddenly glass was flying all over the car. Fortunately, I didn't crash the car. Myself and my son who was in the passenger seat, we were both covered in glass.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2020

About a month ago, I began to receive an alert that my side detection system needed to be serviced. Upon inspection, my right side module had to be replaced. After completing the repair, the new module would not communicate with the left module which is how the right module gets programmed. It was discovered that even though there was no alert that the left module needed to be replaced as well. This is a huge concern that these modules would fail this soon into the vehicle's life (68,000 miles). There are no moving parts, etc. Not to mention the safety issues of not having a working side collision alert system.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2020

I purchased my vehicle October 31'st 2019 from a local dealership. The milage was about 74k miles. I have only had this vehicle for a few months. My concern is the following. While driving, at least 7 to ten times the vehicle completely stalls. In other words it completely stops. The steering wheel locks. All power is lost. No lights no nothing. This has happened at intersections, it has happened when turning left, it has happened when turning right. It happens when we are yielding. Sometimes the dash starts to flicker and also the console. Sometimes like today without any warnings. This is puts me and my family in a very dangerous situation. Please respond ASAP. I currently have 86k miles on my vehicle.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2020

The led brake lights on my passenger side are malfunctioning and it seems to be a common theme for Yukon owners. I have called 5 different dealerships and they are all out of this part because it keeps failing.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

Owned the car for 2 years, been in the shop three times for the same issue, car jerks going less than 25 mph and while driving and accelerating. Both tail lights are led and inoperable. Ac quit working, recharged once and figure it's a leak. Upon reading reviews GMC is aware of faulty parts but no recall on any vehicle.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2019

Rear passenger brake light is working intermittently. Purchased extended warranty, but it is not covering cost to replace which dealer says will be over $700. Was told that GMC knows these lights are not lasting as long, so they extended the warranty of the lights, but I am still out due to miles on my car. The purchased extended warranty goes to 125k miles, but they will not cover. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2019

Radiator leak and coolant smell, at 72,000 miles.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2019

A few days ago I got out of my truck to retrieve a package left at my garage door. I put my vehicle in park walked around my car door walked by the front of my truck to retrieve the package and all the sudden I was knocked down. I did not realize what happened until I looked up and saw my truck driving towards me. I scream for help as I crawled backwards to safety. A few minutes later I realize the truck was no longer moving and by the grace of god my wheels were turned slightly and it had stopped because it hit the side of my house. It took a couple of days for the shock to wear off of what could have happened to me or my kids if they were playing outside. My husband and I spoke to a couple of people including a certified mechanic and we found out that this has happened before on the 2015 Yukons. I am attaching pictures of what we found from GMC along with my truck.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2019

When driving at low speed 40mph and under you can barely feel the vibration/shaking but when you get up to highway speed 60-75mph the truck really starts to vibrate/shake if the highway has any turns or curves it shakes/vibrates even more until you start going straight again then it calms down and shakes/vibrates as it always does also if slow down it will shake/vibrate less but never completely stops I took it to my local dealer because I heard these trucks were having problems with the torque converter shutters but was told that the tires need to be balanced witch didn't solve the problem I was then told that it was normal for these trucks witch I didn't believe I even tried a different set of wheels and tires witch did help either it shakes/vibrates so much that I don't want to drive it because you get a headache this has been a on going problem for a year and a half I really started noticing it around 75,000 miles there are a lot of claims of the same problem/symptoms on the web.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2019

Brake light is will not working on passenger side.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2019

Tail light keep going off, dealer wont fix it under warranty, they $700 when its a manufacture issue, something wrong that keep burning the led lights.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

Rear tail lamp at brake light work intermittently. It is known that the circuitry connecting the leds break.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2019

The ac condenser stopped working. This is the second time it has been replaced. First under warranty, second is not. It is funny how every person at dealership service department knows the condenser is a faulty product, bit GMC won't recall. Even non GMC repair shops know this.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2019

After no apparent impacts or external damage, three different lights have failed or become endangered by wetness. First a tail light assembly had to be replaced for $827, then the 3rd brake light for $280, and now there is wetness visible inside a headlight (costing something like $900 to replace).

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2019

Ac condenser leaking at 72000 miles, so outside of warranty. Should be covered regardless of mileage due to a known issue in special program 17336. Bought this certified from dealer in 2017. Ac just stopped cooling a couple of weeks ago, just blows warm air. Impacts defrosting.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2018

Roof leak. Determined to be sharkfin antenna.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2018

At certain speeds my vehicle vibrates, like a grinding sound at speeds between 50-55. This is a safety risk because I have children and grandchild that frequently ride with me. I have taken my vehicle back to the dealership and they say it is no codes and send it back to me without fixing the problem. My vehicle has not been inspected by anyone except the gm dealership. I got my vehicle Nov. 2018 and this started happening between Dec. 2018 and Jan. 2019. My check engine light did appear and was flashing around this time. In 2019 I had to replace the rear shocks and I believe they are not working properly now.

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2018

There is a known electrical issue with the Yukon tail lights. The enclosed led running lights and brake lights will go out and not operate. This is a huge safety concern as there is no brake light that will illuminate and no running light. Both of my tail lights have gone out on my vehicle. During a record check I have learned that this is a common problem with the Yukons. GMC has failed to take action about the known problem. The problem is persistent while being stopped and driving. Secondly the braking vacuum system will go out unexpectedly. This causes the assisted brakes to fail causing the braking system not to take affect and stop the vehicle properly. This is a huge safety concern as you will not be able to safely stop your vehicle in a timely manner and will cause several accidents. I noticed that the brakes had filled while being stopped at a stoplight and also while being mobile and driving.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2018

The sunroof of my 2015 GMC Yukon spontaneously shattered while driving down the highway at normal speed with a few normal sized vehicles and no overpasses nearby.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2018

As I was driving my vehicle yesterday after it was raining, the driver's side sun visor leaked water. I was told by my GMC dealership that the visor is leaking due to the antenna on the top of my vehicle. (I do not have a sun roof) so, my headliner is wet and the antenna needs to be replaced. I was told by my GMC dealership (I work for the family that owns the dealership) that the antenna is not covered under a recall. I do not think I should have to pay for a defect in my antenna! the manufacturer that made my vehicle should pay for the replacement of the antenna not me! it is not something that I have done to the vehicle. It is a defect in manufacturing! I would like for gm to place a recall for the antenna to be repaired free of charge. Again, I work with the GMC dealership and they have had other customers come in with the same complaint! again, I should not have to pay for the replacement of the antenna or file a claim with my warranty company. This is a defect!.
