36 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

SUV shuttering and shaking while in motion on city streets and highway.

37 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2018

Driver side rear brake lights work intermittently.

38 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2018

Ac condenser out after 3 years, blows hot air.

39 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2018

A/c in automobile stopped working. There are allegedly two defective parts in this vehicle. The discharge line and the condenser. Both are too weak to handle the pressure from the coolant.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2018

Sunroof: while traveling on the road at 55mph, my sunroof, which was closed, randomly exploded. You can see the glass actually pushed up and out when it blew. We had glass everywhere in the vehicle. There were no other vehicles around me and there was nothing that came through the window. It was a nice sunny day, no rain or other reason for this to have happened. I stopped right away and took photos of the damage. I called my insurance company right away and am waiting for the sunroof to be replaced.

41 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2017

Purchase a used 2015 Yukon denali 1 year ago and have had issues with both shocks and ac. The shocks are the air ride and all 4 had to be replaced. This was a huge expense because my truck surpassed the mileage even though it was within the date range. My ac also resently stopped working. I received a letter from gm 1day after ac went out notifying me about a know issue with a leaking compressor. I took it to the dealership the next day and thought it would be covered to replace. I then found out that since it was over mileage it wasn't under warranty. I questioned what mileage ad to do with a know defective compressor but was told they could not do anything. The cost to replace it was quoted at $1,200.

42 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2017

My vehicle has a significant vibration when traveling 40mph and above with a rear window down. The vibration is also accompanied by increased cabin pressure. These issues are causing headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Dealership confirms issue and tried to repair, but unable to. The vibration started right after we took delivery of the car and has only gotten worse. We bought the car in October 2015 and the issue continues unfixed to this day after 5 visits.

43 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2017

Ac condenser failure.

44 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2017

Had 30,000 miles and my steering colum was making popping noise. The dealership tried to just repair the bearings but it only worked for 2 weeks. They had to replace the whole steering colum. Brakes are squeaking for no reason had les schwann check them and still can't figure it out. My a/c now quit working. Struts in hatch also had to be replaced and passenger window molding is coming off.

45 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2017

Ac quit working & dealer said it's a bad condenser, which part is unavailable due to national back order. Can't tell me when they can get part to fix. Obviously this is a major defect on gm behalf & they're doing nothing about it. Not even a recall!.

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2017

A/c condenser leaking.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2017

A strong vibration or "shudder" resonates throughout the body of the entire cabin. Feels like you are driving over large rumble strips, even when the road is completely smooth. Appears to occur at speeds greater than 30 miles per hour and when the rpms exceed 1,000 rpm. The rpm needle "jumps" repeatedly while the vibration/shudder occurs. When we took it to the local GMC dealer, they told us it we needed a new wheel for which we bought and it accomplished nothing. Then, we returned it, described the problem in excruciating detail - even referencing known public service bulletins - which prompted them to "balance the tires. " left the GMC dealership again and it was obvious the dealership did not address the problem and that it had nothing to do with the wheels. We returned and advised them they did not fix the problem. The kept the denali again and then advised us they were "100% sure" the problem was the "shocks". They replaced the shocks for nearly $2,000 and advised us by phone the problem was "fixed. " I asked the representative if they had confirmed it was fixed and he said "yes", the technician had driven the vehicle and there were no further issues. Minutes later, I got a call from the service manager who advised the customer service representatives call to me was "premature" (I guess he finally decided to drive the vehicle) and advised there was a problem with the torque converter and that he needed to keep it for a few more days. I asked why he they had told me they were "100% sure" the problem was the shocks and he advised he drove it and they "seized" up. We are still awaiting some resolution to this $75,000 new vehicle disaster. This is the first american vehicle we have purchased and are certainly regretting that decision and are currently researching other full-size suvs for better safety and reliability.

48 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2017

A/c stopped working and was told it was due to bad condenser and the part gets damaged where it bolts onto the radiator. Was told that a part would be ordered but there is no eta on when the part will be delivered due to nationwide shortage of part due to so many problems. Also, dealer notified me that gm was only allowing one condenser to be ordered per VIN as supply is so short because of the problem. Ac doesn't work. Can't drive with my two children and dog in the car when the temperature is over 80 degrees. Son has asthma and we rely on the ac to be working.

49 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2017

A/c condenser is leaking. The part is on back order for months. This problem needs to be looked at as a recall.

50 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2017

Ac is not working. Only hot air blows out. Dealer is telling us that the compressor is out and is commonly out for gm products from this year. The part is back ordered with no date available that it will be available. Apparently it is being redesigned. We have been told it may be months. Summer heat is coming as early as this week. With 4 children, I find it unsafe to have such a hot car. 17 people at our dealer alone are waiting for the same part. Please get gm to fix the issue.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2017

My a/c started blowing hot air a few weeks ago. I took it in to my GMC service department, and they advised me it was the condenser that needs to be replaced, however that part is on back order indefinitely. I have since spoke with several people with vehicles like mine who have also had this same result with their a/c condenser. I would like this matter reviewed as an official recall.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2017

The a c compressor leaks allowowing freon into the air and the cab were the driver and occupants breathe it.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2017

Ac condensor is bad part on indeffinate backorder no eta from gm thry have had my vehicle for over a month.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2016

The vehicle has leaked water in the seams of the back driver side since the initial purchase. It has been repaired nine times by two different dealerships and it still leaks. The vehicle now contains a high moisture reading and was tested by a mold specialist and determined to have mold. The vehicle is currently with the dealership.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2016

Driving in snowy conditions with the vehicle in 4wd, began navigating a turn and the vehicle seemed to shift into neutral, and the dash displayed the "4wd shift on progress" on the dash without driver touching the 4wd buttons. Could not steer or brake or do anything. Vehicle ended up hitting a wall causing a fair amount of damage. Vehicle does not go in for repairs until next week but the dealership made it sound like it's a transfer case issue which appears to be a known issue on these vehicles.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2016

Window appliqués on both sides of vehicle became loose and were flapping while driving. This was concurrent with a very noisy cabin, likened to the sound of a window being open while traveling at highway speeds. These appliques were previously replaced by dealer after incidentally being found loose. The noisy environment in cabin is very loud and distracting, causing driver and passengers to get headaches and causing driver to become distracted.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/20/2016

Sunroof exploded during a ride on the highway during a rain storm.

58 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2016

A/c won't get cold! one of many problems I have had with this brand new truck that is a year old! tv's have had problems, transmission problems, giving it gas was also a problem! I have just hit 40,000 on the truck and they want to tell me it not under warranty! a/c shouldn't be a problem yet! nothing but problems out this truck! can someone help me? a disappointed truck owner!.

59 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2016

My 2015 GMC Yukon xl with 5000 miles exhibits a buffeting / pressure sensation that can be felt predominately in the ears between 30 and 70 mph when only the rear passenger windows are down . After a short amount of time it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. Something is very wrong and must be fixed.

60 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2016

On February 10, 2016, we were driving on I-25 headed to arizona for a vacation. As we were just on the outskirts of santa fe, nm, we heard a loud explosion and it sounded like our entire car was blowing up. We were driving at 75 mph and there were no other cars close to us. We started hearing glass bouncing around on the sunroof curtain and realized that it was our sunroof that had exploded. We pulled into the first exit in santa fe and checked the car and the glass appeared to have exploded upwards. We drove to the next gas station and pulled out all the large pieces and vacuumed up what we could of the small pieces. Needless to say, we had to end our vacation and we turned around and drove home the same day. All we could hear on the way home was glass bouncing around and the road noise. We contacted GMC and they said we should claim through our insurance. Eventually, they relented and replaced the sunroof. I have done research on the internet and it appears that this is happening with many makes of vehicles not just Gmcs. It appears there are some serious issues with sunroofs. If pictures are needed, we took several and I would be happy to provide. Thank you for addressing the issues with sunroofs. I no longer feel safe in this car and this is a vehicle that we purchased for road trips as we have two other vehicles which are our every day vehicles. It was the scariest thing we have ever experienced.

61 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2015

Horrible cabin pressure and buffeting above speeds of 40mph. Passengers have complained of headaches, dizziness, ears popping, etc. Occurs with all windows and sunroof closed. During long periods it can sometimes create nausea and sick feeling even hours after exiting truck.

62 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2015

Vehicle exhibits a "buffetting" or pressure sensation that can be felt primarily in the ears between 40 and 50 mph. After any amount of time at these sustained speeds it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. This condition was confirmed by the dealer with 3 separate drivers including a tech, the sales manager, and the owner. Gm has a technical pi issued, as the problem is apparently relatively common in these vehicles. Suggested repairs include re-bonding the roof sheet metal to the frame, repair/replacement of the rear differential, replacement of the propshaft, repair/replacement of wheels and tires, removal and "relaxing" of the exhaust system, and more. None of which appears to solve the issue. A quick internet search turned up dozens of cases with this issue in just one website. Gm has manufactured a vehicle with a significant, known flaw that they cannot currently fix. This flaw should be considered a safety issue strictly based upon the physical symptoms triggered by the sensation within the vehicle.

63 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

When driving at highway speeds in the rain, water pools on the drivers side and passenger side door window at the bottom front of the window blocking the driver's view of either side view mirror. I went to the dealer in carson city nv, and service director stated they had this problem with trucks since 2007 and there has been no solution.

64 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Vehicle has a vibration when going between 60-70 miles per hour on highway. The vibration starts and stops over and over again. Vibration last about two seconds each time. Took vehicle to dealer they said the issue was caused by recall that GMC was trying to fix. Currently no part is available to fix vehicle. Instructed to just keep driving vehicle with the vibration until a part is issued.

65 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2015

My wife and I were driving on the parkway at about 65mph when we heard what sounded like a gunshot in the vehicle. We pulled over to the side of the road only to find out that the sunroof literally exploded on the car. All of the glass that was left was bowed upward which would indicate that the sunroof explode outward and nothing hit the roof of the car. When we brought the car to GMC they claimed that something must have hit the sunroof to make it explode which I know did not happen. Needless to say, GMC is unwilling to cover the damages to the car under the warranty.

66 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2015

Our 2015 Yukon xl denali has been in for repair service for 41 days since purchased new 3/23/15. The car has stalled while in motion with my wife and three daughters in the vehicle twice and been unresponsive to throttle input 3 additional times. The stall occurred once while turning left across traffic and another time while turning right and merging with traffic! the problem is intermittent and GMC has never been able to replicate it. They have given us the shoulder shrug, "I don't know what to tell you, we can't replicate it" line, so here are your keys. No warning indicators, no signs it may happen, and no way to pull up the issue with their diagnostics. . . Huge safety concern and each time they have handed us the keys back after 7 days (their standard allotted time to have a loaner out) without any proactive escalation to find root cause or concern for my family's safety. The last time we took it in, they had it for 8 days and could not replicate the issue. We signed our service paperwork and I escalated to the service manager before leaving. After telling him we would be pursuing buyback, he miraculously had an idea it may be related to a wiring harness issue. This was based off his experience with a sierra pickup (5. 3l, not our 6. 2l) that had similar behavior. We left the vehicle and, wouldn't you know it, they replaced a wire and "have reasonable confidence" it resolved the issue. Two weeks later, it's back in the shop for key fob not detected (after already driving). Truck is in gear and you cannot move. . . Another huge safety concern. It's a dud. We have also had to have all 8 injectors replaced due to rough idling and the steering gear replaced from faulty manufacturing that creates a clicking while turning the wheel, the car is at the dealer and we will not be taking it back. We are going through the offical buy-back process with GMC.

67 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2015

With all windows up, vehicle exhibits a buffeting / pressure sensation that can be felt predominately in the ears between 30 and 50 mph. Similar to when only the rear passenger windows are down in many vehicles. I second the fact that after any amount of time at these sustained speeds it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. Gm forums are flooded with complaints. This vehicle obviously was manufactured with a significant, known flaw that they cannot currently fix. This should absolutely be a safety issue strictly based upon the physical symptoms onset by the feeling within the vehicle.

68 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2014

On the day I test drove my Yukon my husband and I noticed a vibration in the vehicle. When we returned to dealer noticed one of the rims was different than the other three so we all believed it was the cause. Was told it would be handled. So we came back to pickup and that's where it all began. This vehicle has severe reverberation and vibrations. Reverberation causes severe headaches and nausea. My driving leg goes numb from the vibration that comes thru the gas pedal. So unsafe. Severe tunneling vibration they have done the tires not the problem. Repositioned upper and lower rear control arms to change pinion angle &checked and adjusted transmission cross member and mount. Picked it up immediately noticed nothing had changed. When right back to dealer and service manager drove with me. He also agreed that it wasn't fixed. Brought back again. After doing another series of things GMC rep drove vehicle and said that pico scores fall under specs. Offered me a additional 2yr/24000 mile warranty. Haha I trade every three years and put 6000 miles per year on my SUV. So on 1/28/16 the pico score was 20 before the repairs claimed they got it down to 5. Picked it up brought it back to dealer 2/3 (I've put 45 miles on between services) take it back out on road pico back at 20 did more stuff got it back down to 6. So gm rep says it's within gm specs?? this is crazy. Just took disabled husband to dr and he could hardly make it home in this vehicle. This is a severe health concern. Does someone have to have an accident and kill someone before this is addressed. I have actually stumbled after getting out of this vehicle due to the reverberation and my equilibrium being off because of it. I had wked for a gm dealer for 25 years that's when they used to take care. Of there customers. I have driven and owned 20 suburban & Yukons I have never had one like this. Conclusion: not fixed.

69 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2014

Turned on car, service 4 wheel drive message on display. Car will not move. Stranded with small children for 1 hour waiting for a tow. Only 616 miles on the car - had for a week. Why on earth was the recall not performed at the dealership prior to selling a $70,000 vehicle?.

70 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2014

After owning the 2015 Yukon denali for 6 months, I have to say this vehicle has its flaws. The 4wd system is in for service already after 9000 miles. Not the kind of quality I would have expected on an $80,000 SUV. At the moment, the vehicle is only a 2 wd system and seems very difficult to drive and turn. Also, the intellilink software is very "buggy" and needs many updates. On several occasions, the entire touchscreen will go blank while driving down the road. This is cause for concern and is a major driving distraction.
