1 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2018

Was driving about 7-10 mph in a wal mart parking lot when the steering on my 2015 GMC Yukon denali completely gave out which caused me to scrap a pole on the back door behind driver. Finally when vehicle came to a complete stop the steering wheel would freely spin and not in gauge the tires to rotate. Had the vehicle towed to the nearest GMC dear ship to have them asses the problem and told them this has to be from the root cause of a recall that a sensor will lose temp connection with steering and may cause an accident. Which did as well as injury to my wife who was driving. Now the vehicle is at the GMC dealership giving me a run a round that the steering column magically snapped and needs to be covered through extended warranty. I have an open complaint with the dealership as well as GMC it self. Please if you own this year vehicle be very careful this could have been a really horrible situation.

2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2018

I give!!! now break lights not working!!! right break light is out and left driver is intermittent. Vehicle has 37k on it and was just picked up from the dealer after having 1 of many issues through the past year rectified and now this! this is a significant safety hazard and could tremendously injure someone. Right now my car cannot even pass inspection due to the faulty equipment installed by the manufacture that is a danger to my safety. I have owned many GMC's (6 total) through the years and this being the worst!! the latest, I have had the torque converter replaced in Aug 18 - due to shuddering and vibration. Then the steering column replaced due to popping , back hatch hinge replaced due to popping and malfunction, back glass door rubber gasket replaced due to leaking, sharkfin antenna replaced due to leaking, sunroof gasket replaced due to leaking, new tires at 500 miles due to excessive vibration. Back door adjusted due to slamming, and additional slight issues. The radio has a constant glitch on the screen since day one that after being taken in numerous times, of course the dealer cannot replicate the problem and keeps performing a flash update which never helps and as soon as I drive off it glitches again. I have contacted gm regarding the brake lights, radio, and now my passenger step is malfunctioning not to mention a recall was just released on the power steering. Will the repairs ever end? guess once I trade it in on another manufacture as this will most likely be the last GMC I will ever purchase!! I do not have time to live my life at the dealer for a high end purchase that is the worst mistake ever!! not to mention being a safety hazard!!!.

3 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2018

Right side tail light is not working transmission is clunks when selecting drive from reverse. When rolling slow in a parking lot, sometimes the transmission has a very harsh clunk as if someone has hit me in the rearend. The steering column has a popping noise when turning left.

4 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2016

Steering wheel pops when turning steering wheel. 100's of complaints on this issue. GMC issues TSB to address this issue but they will not cover the cost for the repair. It's a defect in the steering column and a safety issue that needs to be repaired for free.

5 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2016

1. While driving steering wheel was making a clicking noise when turning. Dealer replaced upper steering column bearing and turn signal. Three months later dealer replaced steering column again due to same issue. 2. One month later both front coil springs were replaced. 3. When replaced springs, dealer found that left front upper ball joint was loose so replaced upper ball joint and upper control arm. 4. After replacing above mentioned parts, noise was still present when driving so dealer replaced both left and right front struts. 5. The following month right front strut was replaced again due to noise while driving. 6. One month after that service the radiator began leaking while on the road and the dealer replaced the radiator. 7. 07/12/2017 left front strut was replaced again. This is the 4th strut put in this vehicle. 8. 07/12/2017 a/c stopped working. Dealer said it needs new condenser which is on back order indefinitely at this point so not able to fix at this time. These issues happened over a period of 18 months. Not at a specific time. The steering column is still making a clicking noise while turning. We have taken the vehicle back, however the dealer says they are unable to duplicate the noise. If they end up replacing the steering column again it will be the third time. This vehicle is not trust worthy to drive long distances or cross country. Very disappointing for a $70,000 new vehicle.
