Complete shutdown of electronic controls: driving (pulled out of parking lot) both remotes in vehicle siriusxm on w/music turned audio volume down from steering wheel music volume immediately jumped to highest level volume would not respond to steering wheel, radio knob or screen controls could not turn off or change volume via radio knob (pulled over) engine shut-off but immediately restarted, multiplt attempts on park-fot on brake, with audio at full volume and no response to any controls (wheel, infotainment, radio knob) tried to use remote: lock/unlock/stop, but no response changed source from siriusxm to android auto via steering wheel controls and was able to reduce volume and all controls returned to normal function.
While stopped at a stop sign the vehicles start/stop activated and turned off the engine. When I released the break to hit the gas the engine would not turn back on. I was stuck in the middle of the road and unable to restart my vehicle. After several minutes of trying to turn the vehicle off/on it started back up. The second incident happened when using the remote start. Once I entered the vehicle and put my foot on the brake and hit the start button the engine completely died. Radio and heat stayed on but the engine wouldn't turn over. After letting it be for a half hour everything was still on inside the vehicle but the engine still wouldn't turn over. I disconnected the battery and reconnect it. Once that was done the vehicle started back up. Vehicle was brought to the dealership, but was told there is no fix and to not use the automatic start or auto start/stop on the vehicle.
Battery: vehicle died at highway speed 1/12/23 with 25,404 miles on it. Towed to dealership, battery died while driving. Vehicle would not start 12/01/24 at 88,013 miles, battery was dead. Engine: reported engine knocking and high idle 1/30/23 with 26,608 miles on vehicle. In service department until 03/03/03 with no issues found. Took vehicle to another dealership service department 06/06/23 with engine knocking and high idle, no issues found. Received back 06/12/23. Filmed the engine noises and high idle on 06/22/23, engine light came on and returned to service department at 37,265 miles. Engine was replaced after a lengthy wait time for replacement. Cam and lifters were the issue in original engine. Received vehicle back 08/30/23. Modules: reported the display changing 1/30/23 with 26,608 miles, service documents state related to telematics controls. They replaced the module. Vehicle had a delay in shifting, reported on 06/06/23 with 36, 303 miles. Transmission control module was out of calibration and was reprogrammed at a dealership service department. Vehicle shifted into neutral multiple times. Reported to service department 09/08/23 at 38,183 miles. The transfer case lost communication with the brake control module, but they started communicating again without repairs according the service invoice. Then there was a recall for the screen switching displays, which it has done the entire ownership, even after replacing the module. Turned into dealership for that recall, it was updated, the displays still change screens while the vehicle is in use.
Illuminated emblem failed due to apparent water intrusion. It caused drivers side head lamp to operate improperly. At first it caused headlamp to flicker, as if a short. Then it caused headlamp to remain on when it shouldn't. It would not cut off. Therefore, risk of battery going dead and being stranded. It could also cause trouble driving, therefore causing a wreck. My vehicle is currently in the shop for this and no recall has been issued by gm. It's a known issue, had been a known issue for over 7 months, and still no resolution!! I had to pay extra for this emblem, and they're not offering a refund for an added oem accessory that will not operate! they have issued a temporary "fix" until resolution is found, again, 7 months and still no resolution!.
On September 9th at approximately 5:00 pm, my wife and I left augusta and headed to atlanta to attend an event. While driving highway speeds of about 70-80mph, the vehicle began to decelerate rapidly and then shifted itself into neutral gear. Unable to shift back into drive, I was forced to maneuver my slowing vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway, placing myself and my wife in danger of colliding with the other vehicles who were still travelling at highway speeds. After pulling over onto the shoulder, I was able to shift the vehicle into park and turn it completely off. After a few minutes, I turned the vehicle back on and integrated back into traffic. Approximately 20 minutes later, the vehicle began to have trouble accelerating and I was unable to exceed 65mph on a highway where the speed limit was 70mph, and the other vehicles were exceeding that. My wife and I were sitting ducks in atlanta traffic. I once again planned to pull the vehicle over when it suddenly made a loud noise and began to vibrate violently. From the far left lane, I found myself fighting with a vehicle that refused to accelerate and was now becoming uncontrollable. I managed to take the next exit, and parked the vehicle. After turning off the vehicle, I waited a few moments and tried to start it again. The vehicle did start, but continued to vibrate aggressively, as well as make loud clunking and squeaking sounds from under the hood. There was also a smell of something burning. For our safety, my wife and I exited the vehicle, as it had been rendered completely inoperable. I was forced to have the vehicle towed. The vehicle is currently at john miles Chevrolet Buick GMC in conyers, GA. (678)374-4695. The dealer has not confirmed the problem. No inspection has been done to date. When to vehicle shifted to neutral I believe the only warning light said "conditions not correct for shifting". It only appeared when the vehicle shifted into neutral.
The sunroof has leaked and been “fixed” on multiple occasions. The sunroof is leaking on the electronics including the wireless charger and screen.
The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that after starting the engine instrument panel display would not turn on. During the failure the safety features such as the speedometer and fuel gauge were not available to the driver. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who performed a software updated but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 200.
Vehicle has been in for repair on (4) separate occasions for the same issue. Without warning, several error messages will pop up indicating problems with power steering, suspension, air bags, etc. In all there are 7 or 8 different error messages that all appear at once, but as soon as they do appear the power steering stops working. This has happened both from a cold start and while driving. In total the vehicle has lost power steering on 12-15 separate occasions. The service department at the dealership has had a hard time diagnosing the problem, but recently said that a faulty serial gateway module was to blame. After waiting 1. 5 months for a replacement part, I was told that the repair had been made and the vehicle was ready for pick up. Within 5 minutes of leaving the dealership the power steering failed again while driving, forcing me off to the side of a busy road. The same 7-8 error messages appeared on the screen.
Purchased the vehicle brand new on 12/3/21. On 12/21/21 vehicle started to display 'service safety restraint system' and airbag light was on. Also, all controls on the overhead console (sunroof, sunroof shade, map lights, rear access control, auto folding seat control) were no longer working. The passenger airbag light on the overhead console that notifies if the airbag is on or off was also no longer lighting up. The interior overhead lights in all 3 rows of the vehicle are not working and the fold down mirror lights are not working. I contacted my local dealership and they said the overhead console had failed and was the cause of the issues. They stated they had ordered the part and that I could come pickup my vehicle. They did state the part was backordered and it could be weeks before the part arrived. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive as the airbag light was on, the passenger airbag light was no longer lit up, and the 'service safety restraint system' error continued to display. They stated they could not guarantee that the airbag system was functioning properly, but I could still come get the vehicle. I asked if they had a loaner vehicle they could provide me with as I was concerned about the airbag system not functioning properly and they stated they did not have any loaner vehicles. I have contacted the dealership several times to see if there are any updates on the part and they have told me the part is still backordered and have no eta of when the part may be in. So, I have been driving around in a vehicle for almost two months that has non-functioning airbags. This is a significant safety hazard.
“service safety restraint system” warning light message appears on dash. Airbag indicator light on indicating and advised airbags are inoperative due to faulty circuit. No power to roof console leading to inoperative sunroof, overhead lights, rear hatch operating button, and garage opener.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai sonata. The contact stated that the component that controls the overhead console was not working. The contact stated that the warning light had illuminated that the air bag had a malfunction. The contact stated that she then contacted the dealer who had diagnosed the failure, and advised her that the roof console needed to be replaced, however if she was involved in a crash the air bag would not deploy. The contact stated that she then contacted the manufacturer who advised her they were not able to speak to her because of a lemon law suite she opened. The failure mileage was 858.
