36 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2026

Post initial remedy, which included oil sand cap replacement to 0-40, as directed by the manufacturer's recall documents, and passing the picoscope test on August 26, 2025, the vehicle lost propulsion while traveling 58 mph, in the center lane of a busy, notoriously dangerous saeford-oyster bay highway. At the time, the vehicle was occupied by a 2-week-old infant, the child's mother, and a dog. Prior to the failure, there were no indications of a pending or present issue. The vehicle's engine shut off, it shifted into neutral, and upon stopping, it shifted into a parked position, where it remains to date. Subsequent to pulling the vehicle onto the shoulder, the engine failed to restart. Approximately 6 hours later, the vehicle was towed to a GMC dealer, which subsequently confirmed that the engine is seized. The dealer submitted a report to gm to remedy the condition, pursuant to the manufacturer's recall instructions, but the manufacturer is yet to approve the remedy.

37 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2026

On two separate occasions, while driving at approximately 60 mph on new york parkways, my vehicle unexpectedly shifted into neutral and lost power without warning. During the first incident, a message appeared instructing me to “press start to continue. ” I was able to restart the vehicle and drive home. Two days later, the same failure occurred again under similar conditions. This time, after pulling over and pressing the start button, the vehicle shut off completely and became totally inoperable. The vehicle had no power and would not restart. At the time of this second incident: - I had my [xxx] child in the vehicle - the outside temperature was approximately 20 degrees - recent snow made it difficult to pull fully off the parkway - police assistance was required to ensure our safety - we waited nearly two hours for a tow truck due to the hazardous roadside conditions this situation was frightening, dangerous, and completely unacceptable in a modern vehicle with approximately 24,000 miles. When GMC evaluated the vehicle the following day, I was informed that it requires a full engine replacement. A catastrophic engine failure at this mileage — combined with repeated, sudden loss of power at highway speeds — represents a serious safety defect that substantially impairs the use, value, and safety of the vehicle. 38 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2026

I was on the interstate and when I was passing a vehicle in the middle lane the engine lost power, shifted to n. I tried going back to drive it would not shift. Stopped the SUV and tried restarting it. When I pushed on the brake and tried to start it the whole vehicle would loose power to all my screens. I had this vehicle towed in back in September 2025 due to not cranking over when starting. They did the recall for the engine at that time. The engine light would randomly turn on but would go back off within the same day.

39 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2026

Engine issue crankshaft problem.

40 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2026

The vehicle was running perfectly fine. We pulled into a service station to fill up the gas tank, and suddenly it wouldn’t start at all. We had no choice but to have it towed to mckenzie GMC in milton, florida. After several days of waiting, we were told we now “need another engine. ” yes—another engine. This is completely unacceptable. This same vehicle already had its engine replaced in 2025 under recall 25v274000. It passed the pico test, and the oil was changed to the updated 0w?40 viscosity exactly as required. There is absolutely no reason a vehicle with a recently replaced, recall?compliant engine should be failing like this. Something is seriously wrong with this vehicle, and it needs to be addressed immediately. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

41 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2026

We had the l87 engine recall completed at 14,318 miles on Nov 20, 2025 on our 2023 Yukon xl denali with the 6. 2l engine. Engine passed all tests by dealer and we were sent on our way with 0w-40 and a new oil cap. Fast forward to Jan 21, 2026. . . . My wife pulled the vehicle out of driveway and noticed a deep pitched, knocking sound. She slowly started to drive down the street a bit and then the vehicle shut off and displayed a warning message on the dash (this was on a cold engine, not due to the absurd auto start/stop feature). She was able to restart and get vehicle back to the garage. We had just rolled 15,000 miles on the odometer the day before. Immediately called our dealer and had an appointment set for the next day. We were able to drive vehicle to dealer with knocking and reduced power during the drive. Dealer confirmed next day that an excessive amount of metal was found in oil and on oil filter element then supplied us with video evidence. A complete teardown has been ordered but no cause has yet been identified as of Jan 29, 2026. Service tech stated as we walked back into the dealer that "you are getting a new engine based on the amount of metal found in the oil sample". I asked about timeline for engine replacement and was told that we are looking at a month if not longer until we will get the vehicle back. We know that we are very fortunate to not have had the engine shutdown happen on a highway as my wife would have most certainly panicked in the situation possibly leading to a catastrophic event.

42 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2026

We received a notification that our 2023 gmg Yukon denali ultimate engine needed to be tested as a part of a recall. We took the vehicle to our local GMC dealership. The engine was tested and determined to "pass". The "pass", we were told, meant that we did not need a new engine, just thicker oil, and that the engine was safe. Mind you, our car was a custom order, took 8 months to receive, and is not even 3 years old. The vehicle is my everyday driver. I have two kids and live in a large city with a lot of traffic. A few months after it was determined to "pass", I was driving with my kids and dog in the car. The abruptly stopped, putting itself in neutral. Luckily, I had just turned off of a major interstate and onto a side road. The car would not start or move out of neutral leaving me and my kids in the middle of the road. It now needs a new engine. Prior to this issue, the battery died a few weeks after we took delivery of the vehicle. Safety!!!! if this happened just a few minutes prior, I would have been on a major interstate in one of the nation's worst traffic cities. My car would have abruptly shut down absolutely risking other cars hitting my car. All of this could have been avoided if GMC recalled and replaced all impacted engines. The GMC service tech admitted that they (GMC) knew it was a "band-aid" that wouldn't work. GMC is putting lives at risk. In addition, we now have a vehicle we paid more than $150k for that is virtually worthless.

43 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2026

Vehicle had already "passed" the gm testing and received 0w-40 synthetic engine oil. Engine failure. Vehicle is currently at the dealership. This event put my family at risk of serious injury and possible death as the vehicle suddenly stopped working while drive on a bust street. Engine failure has been confirmed by the dealership, who have recommended installation of a new engine. There were no warning lamps on the dash at the time of the event. However, there was a loud noise immediately followed by lose of engine power.

44 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/19/2026

On January 19, 2026, recall 25v274 was performed on my vehicle, and this was not disclosed to me when I picked up the vehicle from the dealership, courtesy Buick GMC in louisville, ky. I only found out when I got home and read through all the service notes. I contacted the dealer on January 19 after I got home, asking for explanation and have not heard back. The recall remedy failed. Since the service, symptoms of hesitation, lack of propulsion and low mpg persisted. As of Feb 1, the vehicle has suffered a transmission failure and is unsafe. The dealer told me verbally everything was fine, and in the service notes from Jan 19, they noted vehicle as 'operating as designed and within spec' despite performing safety recall work. ".

45 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2026

2023 Yukon denali has now broken down twice, leaving myself and my family (husband and children). This last time was on Friday 1/16/26 while we were out of town, the car began malfunction and then we had complete engine failure while drive 70mph down the highway, again, leaving my family stranded on the side of the road, on a busy highway, in an unsafe environment in the winter.

46 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2026

Engine had a burning smell and cranking sound. It lost propulsion, no indicator lights were illuminated and the car shutdown while driving. This is a recall item. It passed the recall inspection. I also had it inspected prior to leaving for my trip 2000 miles from home. Im currently stranded and awaiting my options. This is very unsafe, the engine failed while I had no service within 50 miles. Freezing temperatures at sunset. Im being told that my towing and rental car may not be covered. Gm told the dealership to do the oil repair first. They covered up the failure. I also had an issue with electrical items after the purchase and that issue is why my alert lights never came on even when the vehicle was inoperable.

47 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2026

Car driving down highway at ~70 mph with wife and our three young kids. Engine spontaneously shut off while driving. Electronic and other systems continued to function (power steering, brakes, lights, screens etc). Dangerous situation but was able to stop car in shoulder. Tried turning car on and off but car would not restart. Police were notified but did not come. Tow truck came and tuck car to a GMC dealer (GMC danvers). Next day when techs arrived at dealer, they were able to start and drive car without issue. There were no present or stored fault codes other than a warning pertaining to the battery. Battery has been replaced and GMC is stating car is now safe to drive. Because issue could not be replicated by dealer and car did not store any fault codes despite the engine shut off, we question whether the issue has been correctly identified and repaired. We noted to GMC that the issue experienced was the same issue associated with the recent recall (for which the car was previously serviced). At this time we do not believe the work GMC performed under recall properly addressed the known engine shut off issue. We requested GMC and dealer perform another picoscope test to conform no issues with crank shaft. GMC refused to perform the service, despite us offering to pay for the test out of pocket. GMC is not offering any additional solutions to identify the cause of the engine shut off issue.

48 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

I am reporting a catastrophic engine failure involving my 2023 GMC Yukon xl denali, which was subject to a gm-issued recall related to engine failure. On January 10, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a. M. , while traveling at highway speed (approximately 65+ mph) on a multi-lane highway, the engine suddenly failed without warning, resulting in a complete loss of power. I was forced to make immediate evasive maneuvers to reach the shoulder while avoiding semi-trucks and other vehicles. The sudden loss of power created an extremely dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and surrounding traffic. After the engine failure, the vehicle could not be placed into neutral, preventing it from being moved out of traffic if it had stopped in an active lane. This design issue significantly increased the risk of a collision. I was stranded on the roadside for several hours in cold conditions awaiting a tow. The failure was later confirmed by an authorized GMC dealer, who diagnosed the engine as failed and replaced the entire engine assembly. The vehicle and replaced components should be available for inspection through the dealership. The manufacturer had previously issued a recall for this vehicle related to engine failure, and I had requested a buyback prior to this incident due to safety concerns. That request was denied unless the vehicle experienced a failure. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure. The only warning message appeared after the engine failed, indicating an engine overheating or “engine hot” condition, which occurred after power was already lost. This incident represents a serious safety defect that resulted in loss of propulsion at highway speed with no advance warning.

49 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

Following a catastrophic engine failure in my 2023 GMC Yukon xl denali, I discovered that the vehicle could not be shifted into neutral once the engine failed. This prevented the vehicle from being moved out of traffic if it had stopped in an active lane. The inability to place the vehicle into neutral after a loss-of-power event creates a serious safety hazard, particularly on high-speed roadways. In the event of a failure occurring in traffic, occupants may be left stranded in a travel lane with no ability to push or reposition the vehicle, significantly increasing the risk of a rear-end or multi-vehicle collision. This condition occurred immediately following the engine failure and was not accompanied by any prior warning or instructions to allow safe vehicle repositioning. I am unaware of any manual or mechanical override that would allow the vehicle to be shifted into neutral under these conditions. This design behavior represents a safety defect because it compounds the danger of a propulsion loss by preventing drivers from removing the vehicle from harm’s way.

50 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2026

The engine experienced a catastrophic mechanical failure after the vehicle had been inspected by the manufacturer and certified as compliant with an engine recall. The failure occurred after the recall remedy/inspection was completed. The engine lost functionality while the vehicle was in use, resulting in loss of propulsion and the vehicle becoming disabled, requiring towing. The engine is currently available for inspection and is awaiting major powertrain repair at an authorized dealership. The sudden engine failure created a safety risk due to unexpected loss of power while driving. No collision occurred. The issue has been confirmed by an authorized dealership. The vehicle had previously been inspected by the manufacturer as part of the recall process prior to the failure. Prior to the failure, there were no known warning lamps or messages indicating an imminent catastrophic failure. The failure occurred after the vehicle had passed the recall inspection. This appears to be a post-recall remedy failure. I am concerned that the recall inspection did not adequately prevent the known defect, as the engine failed after being certified as compliant.

51 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2026

Engine siezed total engine failure at 31095 miles.

52 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2026

On 12/22/2025 I took my 2023 GMC Yukon in for the l87 recall. After receiving information that my vehicle passed the recall they told me that the oil would be change to from ow-20 to ow-40 and that my oil changes would go up in price (double the price) due to the oil being a high performance oil. On 01/05/26 exactly two weeks and 616 miles later our engine and lights completely stopped working while driving it on the road!!! the vehicle would not start or switch into neutral so we could get the vehicle off the road due to blocking traffic! the vehicle was towed the GMC dealership and had to have a new engine replacement. We were out of our vehicle for 31 days. Now our vehicle rear view camera guidelines have stopped working and now have to put that under warranty claim.

53 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2026

We are located in henderson, nv and we were driving on the freeway in a construction zone with no emergency lanes when the vehicle lost all power to the engine going the speed limit. The engine had seized up which is a known problem with the 6. 2l GMC motors. We have done all the recalls recommended by the manufacturer. The engine seizing, locking up , put our family in danger . We were luckily enough to be close to an offramp where people in other vehicles barley let us over so we can pull off the road or we would of been stuck in the middle of the highway with cars flying by us with little kids in the car. This is unacceptable and as much as this happening and GMC not fixing the issues, people are going to get hurt or killed. It is a huge safety concern! . This is a known issue with these motors and problems and GMC is putting bandaids on the situations when lives are in danger. Our truck is a 2023 GMC Yukon denali with only 53k miles on it.

54 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that the vehicle was losing oil, and the engine was running rough. There was an abnormal burning odor after driving the vehicle. The vehicle received an oil change; however, two weeks later, the oil warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was determined the oil level was approximately 2 quarts low, and another oil change was performed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

55 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2025

My family and I received a recall notice from gm. We took the vehicle in promptly and had it "repaired" by an authorized dealer. They replaced the oil cap and placed a sticker in our owner's manual. This christmas, instead of going to angel fire, new mexico, like we do every year to visit family, we stayed home in the rio grande valley. On December 28, 2025, my family decided to go holiday shopping. With kids home from college, and others off from school, I packed my wife and kids (there are six of us) into our 2023 Yukon xl to go shopping. I was driving down a busy 3 lane road with a 55 mph speed limit. By the grace of god, I had just turned from the center lane to the right (outer) lane when our Yukon lost all power and the display read something like "press start/ignition. " I was utterly confused because I didn't understand what was happening. The accelerator would not work. My college daughter who was in the back asked "dad, why did you put it in neutral?" I had not, in fact, put the vehicle in neutral. Scared with the passing traffic and sudden slowing of our Yukon, I had not realized that the vehicle had put me in neutral somehow. I tried to shift or click into the drive, but the vehicle would not respond. At some point my wife started yelling "memo, get over, get over!!" I was able to coast just into the entrance of a gas station. We waited for a towing company to pick us up. Since the episode, we have now learned about this happening to other people. I can't believe that gm is letting this happen to people. We brought our vehicle in as instructed! we trusted that their "test" showed that our engine was fine. We trusted their alleged fix. I'm still in disbelief that the event occurred. I'm a grown man, and I was frightened when this occurred. I'm thankful to the lord that one of my kids had not been driving the vehicle, or that we had been on our yearly trip to angel fire. Please, please, do your best to ensure that this stops happening to families.

56 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2025

Took my Yukon in for l87 engine recall. Advisor informed me my engine failed. No symptoms, sounds or messages appeared. ’.

57 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2025

My vehicle was apart of the gm l87 recall. I took it to the dealership and it passed the recall and received the remedy which was an oil change. Now about 3 months later, I was driving in the highway at approximately 70 mph when the vehicle lost power and shifted to neutral. I had to attempt to veer off the highway with no acceleration. Upon getting it to the side of the highway, it wouldn’t do anything at all and had to be towed. The dealership has deemed it needs a new engine due to the failure the l87s are facing. We had no warning at all prior to the engine failure, and assumed that after passing a recall it had some degree of safety.

58 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2025

Engine failed 1400 miles from home on 6. 2l engine - days after getting l87 engine loss of propulsion recall service. Recall service completed on 12/1/2025 - cap and oil change done - full engine failure on 12/22/2025. 12/1/2025 - l87 engine recall service done at GMC dealership - quincy IL 12/16/2025- check engine light came on - went to same dealership - cleared it told me I was fine to drive across country 12/22/2025 - full engine failure on GMC Yukon denali.

59 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2025

The vehicle drove fine had no warning/ check engine lights. My girlfriend came up to a busy intersection and when she proceeded to cross the intersection the vehicles motor locked up stopping the vehicle in the middle of the intersection with traffic coming from both north and south direction. We had poor visibility due to blowing snow so she had to bail from the vehicle and stand on the side of the road so she would not be harmed if the vehicle was t boned. Vehicle stopped so hard and fast it threw her into the steering wheel. Was unable to get the vehicle restarted and could not get it to shift into neutral so vehicle blocked 1 lane of traffic completely and half of another lane until tow truck arrived to remove from road.

60 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2025

Vehicle was taken to dealership and test was run. Service manager notified me it passed and told us about change of oil. Then recently engine stopped on us twice on the interstate with no power. We finally got it to the dealer and while they were test driving it lost power and they had to have it towed. Now we have been told we are needing a new engine and have not been given any time line. We have also read that many time the solution even on the new engine is not fixing all issues. We just want a safe vehicle returned to us.

61 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2025

Good afternoon, my 2023 GMC Yukon xl at4 with the 6. 2l l87 engine (approx. 61,000 miles) suffered a sudden and complete engine failure at highway speed while I was driving between canton, OH, and columbus, OH, on the expressway, returning to my home in cincinnati. There was no warning before the engine lost all power and propulsion. I was traveling in the left lane of the interstate in moderately heavy traffic. When the engine shut down, I only had steering and braking available to me. In addition to losing all propulsion, I also lost all electronics, and there was no shoulder. The complete dashboard shut down. The only reason there was not a collision was that the traffic around me could see what was happening and slowed down themselves. I coasted on through the onramp and found a shoulder where I had three lanes of traffic on my left and two lanes on my right. Less than two months before this incident, the vehicle had been inspected and serviced by an authorized gm dealer, and no engine issues were identified. I was given no indication that the engine was at elevated risk of failure. After the breakdown, gm and the dealer determined that the failure falls under gm safety recall n252494002 / NHTSA campaign 25v274000, which involves internal engine defects in the 6. 2l l87 that can cause a loss of propulsion in certain gm trucks and full?size suvs widely used as family vehicles. Gm is replacing the engine, extending the warranty, and providing a loaner, but this does not change the fact that my family was exposed to a serious safety risk, nor does it address the possibility that other owners may experience sudden loss of propulsion even after their engines “pass” dealer inspection. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA is aware that a recalled 6. 2l l87 engine, inspected shortly beforehand, still failed without warning at highway speed in a primary family?hauler vehicle, creating a dangerous situation. Regards, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(.

62 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2025

Vehicle was brought in for campaign #25v274000 (6. 2liter engine failure) and passed the manufacturer's testing. The oil was changed to a heavier weight with a new filter installed. Appx 770 miles later, the engine suffered a total failure. The engine was replaced under manufacturers warranty.

63 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2025

I bought my 2023 Yukon denali ultimate on or around August 9 2023, and I bought it brand new. On may 28 2024, around 30k miles, I was on the highway and could no longer accelerate. I luckily got myself into the breakdown lane before my car shut down & lost power, ended up being towed to the closest dealership. After 18 days at the dealership, I finally had my car back with a "new engine". Fast forward to November 25, 2025, I was on the highway again, my dash lit up telling me to "press start". As I figured that was not a good idea while driving in the fast lane on the highway, I did not. In a panic I got myself over to the breakdown lane where my car turned off. This time (November 2025), I still had power, but no car turnover. After 6 days of my car sitting at the dealership, they finally had the time to look at the issue. The dealership did the recall and got the car started, but the car still had a funny sound that the mechanics didn’t like , so they were waiting to hear back from higher up people as to what to do. Today I got the call that they will be replacing the engine for a second time and I will not have my car back until the first week of January. There were zero warning lamps, zero symptoms, nothing. I am lucky that the highway wasn’t too busy in that moment, because there were many 18 wheelers on the road that day, and one almost swerved into my car missing it by about two feet while my dead car sat in the breakdown lane. Yes I called the state police, yes one trooper kindly pulled behind me to ask if I was safe and had a tow on the way. But that truck that nearly plowed into my dead car could have prevented me from picking my [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] daughters up from school, forever . To say that I am disgusted with gm, is an understatement. They’re risking lives. I should not fear for my life, my kids lives in a new, "safe" vehicle. No pun intended, but this is highway robbery. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

64 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2025

I brought my 2023 Yukon in for the 6. 2 gm inspection, and was told my engine was good, and the engine oil was changed. Approximately 3 weeks later the engine in the Yukon failed (seized) while I was towing my boat at 55mph, nearly causing an accident. I was able to pull the vehicle and boat to the side of the highway in a precarious location, which put me, my family and property in danger. There were no warning signs or messages on the dash, and no engine sounds. I believe gm's recall inspection and "preventative" oil change did nothing, and gave me a false sense that the truck was safe to tow with. I want to make sure the NHTSA is aware that the engine failed even after being screened with the recall. This false reasurrance that the truck is safe is putting the public at risk.

65 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2025

There have been several issues for which I had to take my vehicle to the dealer. I did the engine oil recall. Then 4 months later my engine was destroyed. I’ve had several issues with oil leaks. I had an issue with my running boards a few times. And I’ve had an ongoing issue that the dealer hasn’t been able to fix - a water leak (I believe stemming from the moonroof), water gets into my vehicle, on my floorboard, and behind the dash. I’ve called to record these incidents with the dealer and taken it in several times, but they are never able to duplicate it, but they have witnessed the water leakage after the incidents (which happens during heavy downpours, and isn’t all the time because my vehicle is in the garage when I’m not at work).

66 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2025

Engine failure at 38k miles no service lights on dash. Gm says 4 months to get replacement motor with very little help on getting rental car.

67 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2025

I was driving down 85 south bound at mile marker 16 the engine started messing up causing me and my family to be pushed over to the median. Once I was able to fight it over to the median it started smoking and I was afraid it was going to catch fire, so me and my family had to get out on the side of the interstate until help showed up and said it was safe to get back into the car. I had to use onstar to get a tow truck, after the tow truck got there and I made it to the closest dealership to find out that the so called recall that the gm dealership fixed did not help the fact that the engine was messed up. So I tried to get a loaner or rental car for my family of 6 and they rented me a small SUV that I can not get all my kids into, I was told they did not have anything that bigger so now I am having to make multiple trips getting my kids to school. Plus they are saying it is going to be months before I can get my car back because the engine is on back order.

68 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

While traveling on the interstate my vehicle shuttered and lost power we went to a friend’s neighborhood and the vehicle stalled when we pulled in no lights had come on until then and a knock had started. With no where to pull over I finally got the vehicle started and drove it straight to our friends house and left in on the side of the street. I had to take there vehicle home and called onstar to tow it to the dealership. I have to pay for the over mileage because I was out of town when it happened.

69 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

The vehicle engine experienced a failure on the highway at very high speeds with no warnings leading up to this occurrence, same as many of the experiences of the customers with the 6. 2l engines, which have been recalled for these defects. This GMC Yukon has the 5. 3l engine, however, has the same defects as the 6. 2l engine, excessive oil consumption and eventually engine failure. I am without a vehicle, with an extremely high car loan, and have to replace an engine in a two year old $75,000 vehicle. This should be covered by gm as it was a known issue and continues to be sold to unknowing customers. Furthermore, I am paying even more money to put another engine in this vehicle with the potential of having the same issues as the problem has not been corrected. This is deceptive and theft by gm in my opinion, and not safe to have engines failing in the highway with no warnings at all.

70 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

At right under 40,000 miles the engine blew. The gm dealership that repaired my car would never tell me exactly what happened, and they were very sketchy about the whole experience, but it required a complete engine replacement from GMC when the engine quit working.
