GMC Yukon owners have reported 7 problems related to air brake antilock (under the air brake category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of GMC Yukon based on all problems reported for the Yukon.
"stability system disabled" was displayed prior to the brakes being engaged without driver input. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a 'yaw sensor' replaced. The problem returned within 20 miles. A second sensor was replaced along with reprogramming. The problem continues. Dealer states "gm has told us to do nothing more". No further explanation is offered by the dealer or gm "customer assistance". I believe that a vehicle that activates brakes on dry pavement without the driver's foot on the pedal is dangerous.

While applying brakes at very low speed the abs system activates resulting in an increased stopping distance. No warning light goes on. This occurs on a dry surface with no wheel slip. 29,000 miles on vehicle.

My abs brakes activate at low speed and increase the stopping distance. I have not hit anything yet but have had several close calls in parking lots and in traffic.
Defective abs brakes. Having taken to GMC dealer to repair multiple times with no solution. They want to charge me more when it should be covered under service warranty and should have been resolved initially. Whenever I step on brakes to slow down the car would skid which service dealer advised brake system problem but no resolution.

The anti- lock brakes at lower speeds feel like the vehicle wants to keep going, and pulsate when applied before stopping. This happens most of the time, at low speeds. There has been no complete failure at this time (I expect it know when to stop it). I tried having this fixed at a garage and they replaced the wheel baring because they said it contains the speed sensor (it didn't work). The abs kicks in when going forward and reverse.
2001 Yukon xl, turned into a parking space going about 4 mph put on the brakes, abs started pumping and the car did not stop. Hit the car parked in front of me.
