My heated seats stopped working. When my truck was in the shop with my mechanic I asked if he could look and see what the issue is. When he took apart the seat the heating pad was burnt to a crisp. He called the gm dealer near by and asked what the issue could be and they said a short in the heating pad wire. This part obviously caught fire in my vehicle. I called gm corporate today and they said since the repair was not done at gm there is nothing they will do for me. My car could have completed caught fire with myself and my daughter in it. Just because the repair was not done there but the parts were bought at the gm dealer they wont reimburse me for the parts and labor. This is not a recall item from what I can see online.

Burning smell in 2003 GMC Yukon denali xl. Eventually found child's velour car seat smoldering at base with holes burned through the leather heated seat. Child had touched control with foot and turned heated seat on. When discovered, the car seat and leather seats were beginning to smoke. . . . . Could have been a tragedy.
2005 Yukon denali heated seat caught fire but did not smoke it burnt into tempurpedic pillow in a plastic bag up to 15 hours causing illness and a month of bedrest and financial ruin for a mother of 4 who still has a rental and unable to go get car that is still not fixed. We were on our way to a funeral in newport beach CA from or. Gm would not fix my car or allow it to be so until an investigation due to it being a thermal event and insurance said not to move due to spoilation. I called south coast who said the insurance was once again out for pictures today November 11th and the incident happened October 2nd. I am afraid of the long term damage breathing toxic fumes will have on my 15 year old. You have nothing listed under heated seats please forward cases.

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon. While removing the third row seat from the vehicle, the contact noticed that a piece of the part used to properly latch the seat to the floorboard failed. Without this piece, the seat is dangerous to ride in because it is not properly secured to the floorboard. The manufacturer stated that he must purchase the whole part rather than the piece that failed. The manufacturer also stated that the repair would be at the contact's expense. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 54,500 and current mileage was 55,000.
I was releasing the third row seating and the locking mechanism broke. There is a "clamp" that locks the seats to the floor this 1/4 inch metal clamp broke in half. Now the driver's side third row seating is not able to be locked into place in order for anyone to ride there.
My husband was driving I was in the passenger seat when the drivers seat all of the sudden went all the way forward and the back of the seat went straight up, so that my husbands face was in the steering wheel and his legs were jammed up under the steering wheel. He was able to pull off the side of the road ok. The service air bag light came on,the vehicle was running very rough and using alot of gas( 9 miles to the gallon) 3rd row seat will not stay locked in place( lock to the floor) auto garage door opener in car will not work.

When pressing more than one drivers window control, the driver's seat occasionally moves to the full forward position forcing the driver up against the steering wheel even when the vehicle is in motion. When this happens, it is difficult to control (steer) the vehicle.
The seat track for the front seats are sharp as knives. I larcerated my finger when vacuuming carpet. There should be a cap or 'end' device on the end of the track to prevent this.

The front driver's seat is bent and the right side of the back pushes the driver's lower back forward and aplies pressure to his lower back and kidneys, the seat was replaced with a new one but it still applies pressure to the lower back and was improperly aligned, the consumer believes this is a factory defect. Passenger's seat moves back and forth whenever brakes are applied or when accelerator pedal is applied. Vehicle been in dealer shop on several occasions, and informed consumer problem cannot be repaired. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter.
Front drivers seat rocks very distracting and feels like it could fail under the pressure of an accident. Dealer contacted as was manufacturer. They stated that they are all like that and a repair is not possible.
The front seats rock unpredictably. They rock both forward and reward under acceleration and braking as well as rough terrain. This is irritating as well as a safety concern as it is difficult to brake/accelerate consistently with the movement in the seat. The dealer has been contacted on numerous occasions as well as gm canada and I have had the drivers and passengers seat replaced. There is still some movement in the seats particularly the passenger seat. The dealer now claims the movement that is still remaining is a normal condition.
Basically consumer was having a problem with abs braking system. When applying brake pedal, pedal stuck and ruined rotors. Also, air conditioning went out three times due to a hole inside of vent area. Check engine light came on due to faulty harness. Transmission slips on acceleration. The engine runs rough at idle. Button on left front seat rattles. Right front outer brake pad was worn. Vehicle pulls left when applying brake.

My parking/emergency brake goes all the way to the floor and does not hold my vehicle on even the slightest grade. The dealer states that this is normal per GMC even though they have had numerous complaints. My engine has a knocking noise when I start it up in the morning. The dealer also stated that this is normal per GMC. My front passenger bucket seat back moves forward and back (wobbles). My rear end wheel bearing were replaced because of a loud hum. That was misdiagnosed twice by alfred mathews. My front end feels loose and squeaks when accelerating or braking. Rear leather bucket seats rattle all the time when driving and the leather has ripped @ seams twice. Alfred mathews replaced once and tried unsuccessfully to fix seat rattle. My newest complaint is a noise that comes from the rear of the vehicle when you shut the doors. ***dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis****761455.
Engine: a spark knock has existed since the vehicle was purchased eventually getting to the point that is was very noticeable even at 60 mph on level ground, continually. Dealer replaced several computer components and eventually service the heads and intake by removing and cleaning carbon. 3,000 miles later the problem is beginning again. Gas mileage has suffered to 3 mpg less than when originally purchased. The drivers seat base had to be replaced due to loosness. A/c idler belt tensioner replaced. Power steering hose leaked. Poser steering control would be lost in right turns and valving had to be replaced. A/c does not cool adequately after engine was last serviced by removing heads and intake, reported to dealer and they said there was nothing they could do.
