I was on the highway driving through boston in the fast lane, going about 70mph when all of a sudden the stability control light came on with the check engine light and the engine reduced power light and my vehicle totally lost power to the gas pedal. I was able to get into the slow lane but my vehicle was not able to go faster than 35mph and there was hardly power to my gas pedal. Luckily, I made it to an off ramp, as I started to come to a stop, the engine was running very rough and it felt like it was shaking the vehicle back and forth. I barely made it into a empty parking lot and shut the engine off. I managed to make it to my mechanic, who got a throttle sensor code from the engine. He told me about a special coverage adjustment #12273b from GMC, regarding this exact issue and told me to take it to GMC. GMC told me, my vehicle isn't listed for this adjustment, even though, it says it should cover 2008-20111 GMC Yukons. Apparently, GMC said my VIN isn't listed as having the faulty part. I almost died this morning in the fast lane in boston with the exact problem GMC describes in the 12273b. GMC said I'm not covered and have to pay out of pocket. Obsurd.

I'm driving and all of the sudden the stability and traction controls lights start flashing, the check engine light comes on and it goes into 1st gear and won't shift out. It takes about 15 seconds to go from driving 60 miles and air down to 10. GMC had it a total of 7 weeks in the winter of 2015/2016 and couldn't find the problem. Doing it again now7/7/2016. Took it to another dealer. They think it's a wiring problem but can't find it either. Told me would just have to drive it till it gets worse. I noticed this last time it messed up that it had been shifting very hard that day. Very frustrating to pay that much for a vehicle you don't feel safe driving. Ready to trade but not sure I have much faith in gm vehicles after all the problems I've been reading about.

Stabilitrack light and check engine light illuminates while driving down the highway. The car goes to idle and has no power to accelerate, almost got rear ended by another car. Once pulled over to side of road, shut engine down and waited 15 mins to restart. Stability track light and check engine light remains on and car accelerates normally. This has happened several times and is an extreme hazard! I have read numerous accounts of this happening to other owners of this model vehicle and dealer has no resolution to fix the problem, they just charge consumers for parts that are not really resolving the issue. This is dangerous for all drivers and will cause a fatality in the near future, something needs to be done!!!.

The contact owns a 2007 Yukon denali. The contact stated that the stability trak warning light illuminated as the vehicle began to lose power. The engine power reduced warning message was also displayed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the throttle sensor was replaced but to no avail. The dealer then replaced the brake lamp, but that also did not remedy the failure. The dealer also replaced the throttle body but that also did not correct the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000 and the current mileage was 128,000. Updated 04/02/lj.
