Wheel Problems of GMC Yukon - part 1

I was driving on hyw 64 in cashiers, nc 28717 on August 25, 2025 at around 4:30 pm and my 2022 GMC Yukon denali just stopped in the middle of the road. I was unable to restart it so I was not able to move it from the middle of the road. Someone passing by called 911 so lots of emergency vehicles arrived. The men tried to switch the car into neutral so it could be towed and finally were able to do that reading something in the manual about hitting the start button twice. While being put on the flatbed if the tow truck I noticed the tires were not rolling, just sliding forward. It is being towed to a chevy dealer an hour away.

Onstar module doesn’t work it went out in January 2025 there’s a 1000’s of other users in the in the onstar module community complaining of the same issues . When you take it to the dealership they will not assist and will not warranty it out.

Upon cold start vehicle rattles when idling down and growling noise when accelerating upon left or right turns. Also, has constant vibrations with sound of metal rattling at speeds above 30 mph. Forward collision light on without a significant amount of mileage on vehicle. I have taken my vehicle to dealership at least 5 times referencing the vibrations. Growling noise was heard by service advisor last visit October 2024, and he stated it probably were the tires. I advised him that brand new tires were put on vehicle, April 18th 2024, rear vibration has never stopped from time of purchase. I have asked dealership to check drivetrain as it is a know issue for 21 Yukon denali. Vehicle has not received recall but was manufactured at arlington plant where the parts of the drive shaft was not properly heated and differential is known for issue upon cold start. Vehicle powertrain warranty is due to expire August 2025 or 60,045 mileage. Therefore with that, the vehicle was placed in service August 2020 months before unproperly heated driveshaft recall was determined. My vehicle should be on the list for this recall as GMC noted this to have occurred on vehicle prior to 07/2021. In addition, a chirping noise comes from front of vehicle while idling and when automatic stop starts back up. There are already known recalls for two of issues noted above.

The towing brakes system fails every day, the blind spot warning fails with every rain day, dashboard is cracking and falling apart, the crome rims provided by gm the crome is peeling off and cause loss of air daily.

The oem tires, bridgestone alenza a/s 02 - size: 275/50r22 hydroplane and have very poor wet traction. Why traveling at low speeds , under 40mph in moderate rain, the vehicle will owe control.

Our GMC Yukon locked into 4wd while accelerating/driving (approx 15-25mp) the kids to school through the neighbourhood, jerked violently as though braking hard, and steering was extremely impaired. The "service 4wd" message appeared on our dashboard. The Yukon is locked in 4wd, and extremely difficult to steer and maneveur. It jerks violenly when turning. We are unable to drive due to safety concerns.

When driving between 40-70 miles an hour. I feel a vibration somewhere in the vehicle. The vibration feels like u are rolling over rumble strips. This happens time and time again on the highway, while in motion only.

The chrome mags on my tires/vehicle wear down at the tire line causing my tires to lose air. This could result in serious accidents. Although I will record last occurrence, this has happened three times in past 5 years resulting in the need for repair.

2004 Yukon xl with 91,880 miles. Replacement left front wheel bearing/hub failed catastrophically at 6,046 miles of service. The bearing separated completely leading to a towing event. Vehicle was on an interstate highway and traveling at 70 mph, in a straight line when this occurred. Service technician said the drive shaft on the 4wd vehicle was the only thing retaining the wheel. The prior bearing was replaced at 85,878 miles. The bearing was installed at at aftermarket service center. The hub face has the following numbers etched on it. 730-0093, 12fr18107. When I look this up it appears to be a bearing made by gnb.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 GMC Yukon. While driving various speeds, the contact heard an abnormal rubbing noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. Also, the steering wheel shook without warning. The vehicle was taken to thompson Buick GMC (2600 wake forest rd, raleigh, nc 27609, (919) 809-6217) to be diagnosed, but the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failures recurred multiple times. The contact referenced bulletin number: 00-03-10-006n. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided case number: 9-5435571823. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 GMC Yukon xl. The contact noticed that the rear passenger tire was leaking air. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and, when the wheel was removed, it disintegrated due to corrosion. The technician also noticed that the area around the lug nut was also corroded. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

My front end makes noises when I turn wheel or stop. I took it two the carmax service department and they couldn't find anything wrong. But it's still making the noise.

The wheels have corrosion and sharp edges have started to form. These sharp edges are putting pressure on the the tires causing them to lose air. We were required to purchase new wheels as the only solution. Wheels should last the life of a vehicle, not four years.

During maneuver in parking lot trying to turn around steering got extremely stiff which resulted in me running into side walk, ramp. The only part of my vehicle that was damage was the driver side front wheel. Curb rash beyond repair. At the time I was not aware of vehicle recall and did not file an accident report.

The vehicle seems to occasionally stall/sputter when accelerating/proceeding from a stop position at a light or stop sign. Even though on a smooth road surface, the right wheel seems to vibrate. The engine stall is the same instance which occurred in the 2015 vehicle that I traded because it left me stranded. The wheel shaking is not a continuous event. The stalling occurs frequently. An appointment has been scheduled for Monday 8/13 for a dealer inspection of my complaint. Vehicle will be left over and a loaner provided.

The right front drivers side hubs was about to come off and my entire braking system went out while driving on the highway.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 GMC Yukon denali xl. The contact noticed that the vehicle shook excessively and there was a strong vibration while driving at highway speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (bommarito Buick GMC west county, 15736 manchester rd, ellisville, mo 63011, (636) 391-7200) more than twice, but they were unable to determine a remedy to repair the vehicle. The dealer test drove the vehicle and the contact asked for an alignment. On the second visit, an alignment was performed and the tires were rotated and balanced; however, the failure continued. On the third visit, the dealer indicated that the tires were out of alignment and one tire was replaced; however, the shaking continued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer provided no specific remedy and provided the vehicle as a trade-in from a 2017 GMC Yukon denali xl, which exhibited the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

As we are driving down the interstate our Yukon loses all power, engine turns off, stability control message comes up, tire pressure sensor message comes up. We pulled over to the side of the road and try refiring the engine. It feels like the engine is about to jump out from under the hood. We turn it off and wait about 5 minutes. Start the engine back up after waiting and it drives ok, but engine light is on. This has happened to us twice in two days time.

The vehicle came equipped from the dealer with non standard 22" aluminum rims and low profile tires. I have owned the vehicle for 15 months - in that time we have had four flat tires (two blow outs), a broken rim, and a broken ball joint. All of these occurred while driving under normal driving conditions on paved roads and not as part of any accident or a collision with an object.

My GMC Yukon xl vibrates badly at all speeds but intensifies at speeds between 40-55. The vibration can be felt through the whole frame of the car. The cabin creates a throbbiing sound, like a helicopter inside the car. The steering wheel vibrates. The car consumes oil at an alarming rate with no visible leaks or noticable exhaust. The car surges unexpectedly somethines around corners or backing out of parking spots. And the rear "clunks" when accelerating from a slow speed such as onto a highway entrance ramp. The rearview camera a is totally worthelss in low light levels and cannot be used for safe back up operations. Dealer has had the car for over 50 days and has replaced the transmission, replaced the torque converter, has replaced the struts and shocks and has changed fluisd as per gm instruction. In all this time and over 6 visits, they cannot fix and have told me that gm has said this is the "new normal". If this is normal, why did they spend so much to try and fix somethig that was not wrong? the dealer also told me that the rear view camera will not work properly becuase of all of the factory options on the car and that degrades the quoality of the image. Gm has not contacted me although I have requested through the dealer that they do so. I see this is a common problem with GMC cars of this years model. I woul dlike to see action taken against GMC to correct this or make me whole.

I was traveling south on summit crossing rd. Fredericksburg va. 22408 at approx. 45 mil. Per hr. ,when I heard a big bang ,the steering locked ,the vehicle went directly hard left,and struck large trees destroying the front end. About 3 minutes after the crash the steering wheel air bag went off in my face. I exited the vehicle to find a damaged front wheel and broken axle assembly near the vehicle.

A spring from a large vehicle on 20th street ensley exit got inbeded in my tire last night 1/17/17 at about 7:50pm. Which made a big hole and I am in need of a tire. I called aaa and had to get it towed because of how fast air came out and aldot stopped to help but had no plugs. So it was towed.

The chrome wheels on the inside are heavily corroded and causing air to release from the tires. There are several complaints as well as confirmed replacements to these vehicles. Our vehicle was stranded due to so much loss of air, as well as the safety issue of a tire blow out. GMC refuses to see this as a defective issue.

I purchased our 2015 GMC Yukon xl in October of 2014. I have been dealing with noise coming from the tires for about a year now. I have taken the vehicle in for service and had many parts replaced only for the noise to come right back. My vehicle only has 40,000 miles and all the tires are wearing to the point that belts are now showing. When talking to continental these factory tires have an 80,000 mile warranty but that tire wear warranty does not cover factory tires. After calling GMC, continental and my local dealer, I finally was told they would give me $250 toward new tires but I could only use that toward the purchase of continental tires. Recently there was a recall on the same tires that are on my vehicle for all the problems I have been having. When I called continental, I was told that my tires are not included in the recall. How can I have the exact same issues that are described in the recall but there is nothing I can do about it because my dot is not in the 1 month recall. I have now had to spend $1000 to purchase new tires for a vehicle that has only 40,000 miles on it and cost $70,000 to purchase 2 years ago.

My bridgestone dueler h/l alenza tires are extremely dry rotted. So bad that the sidewall cracked bad enough to leak air. Tires still have lots of tread left.

I have 4 michelin tires purchased from costco late 2013, type: lt265/75r16, dot m34n 00cx. Less than 30k miles on all 4. All 4 tires are heavily cracked all around the sidewalls. I called michelin and they stated there is no recall but I've never had or seen any tires do this before and I'm concerned they could potentially cause me to have an accident, explode, or shred while on the highway.

Thread of the left back tire flowered up and it popped while driving on a highway, never seen anything like that on a flat. A collision almost took place, my husband was almost smashed between the concrete wall and the truck while trying to check the tire, on star response was going to take 1hr 45 min. After getting to a safe place we checked the other 3 tires and notice the right rear tire presented missing part of the tire wall as a puzzle piece missing, tires had exactly 30k miles with this trip. Tires are continental p275-55r20-111s we told the dealer tires are defective.

1) dashboard is cracking on the drivers side. The crack has progressed directly over the arched area of the dashboard over the instrument panel. The crack has progressed to the point that the dashboard is flapping where the crack is located. 2) two of my tires are losing air pressure due to corrosion problems with the chrome rims/wheels. One of the rims has a 2 inch crack in the chrome finish.

Tread separated from cooper tire discovery h/t and then blew out as the vehicle was traveling at 65 mph on the florida turnpike. Luckily, there was no auto accident, but the brake lines were severed.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Yukon denali xl. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph the driver's side front wheel and axle fractured which caused the vehicle to crash into a parked vehicle. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a fractured finger and cerebral hemorrhaging, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable. Ah.
