2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2016

My car's engine was shut off while I was driving 65 m/h in the freeway and regular road. Also I couldn't re start my car right a way. It is happening more when is hot days than cold days. When I turn to ignition side nothing happened and it's so hard to see regular lights including airbag and engine light etc. I almost got get into accident couple time during at night cause I was trying to get my engine turn on middle of street. If this were one or two time incident I wouldn't report but as summer is getting closer it is getting worst. Now I am getting afraid of when I could get hit and I can't get into freeways. Please check on it. I will try to make some kind of recording.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2015

Vehicle inspected by mechanic who determined that the passenger side of the engine cradle is corroded and will need replacement. Subsequent internet search indicates that this is a common issue prior to a design change in the 2003 model year. Spoke with manufacturer customer service rep (csr) who claimed that they have no record of ever having received a complaint about this issue, though NHTSA complaint ids 10668618, 10632816 and many others indicate that manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Csr stated repeatedly "there is nothing we (Honda) can do", but on further questioning agreed that it was more accurate to state "we [Honda] will not do anything about this". As Honda claims to not be receiving these complaints, a copy of this is being sent usps priority mail with tracking to ensure that they are aware that complaints about this issue are being lodged. Tracking #9505 5000 0753 5133 0002 72.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2014

On August 23, 2014, I went to get my oil changed at the Honda dealer and they said the sub-frame on the passenger’s side had completely broken and the car is now a safety issue. I find this to be horrible. I’ve had this car for about 3 years now (a gift from my grandmother) and all oil changes and services have been done at the dealership on time and they are just now telling me about this!!! I have searched and found that I am not the only person with this problem. It seems Honda has known about this rusting problem for years and has done nothing about it. What does it take to hold them accountable? I now have to either buy another car or get this one fixed.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2013

I have a 98 Honda Accord lx that dies at random times while driving. It takes a few minutes to get my vehicle to restart. I've called Honda and they told me it was the electrical portion of the ignition switch that wasn't covered by the recall and is expensive for labor and the part. I've done some research online and this seems to be a lot of Honda owners who has this problem and the dealership won't replace the part.

9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2010

Honda Accord accelerator cable failure. I picked up my son from school. I started to drive away from the school and the accelerator pedal stopped responding. I steered the car back to the curb using the remaining momentum, stopping near the curb at an angle. I opened the engine hood to locate any loose cables going from the engine to the accelerator pedal. When I touched the accelerator cable, the metal cable was loose and fell out of the housing, revealing a broken frayed cable. I called a tow truck to deliver the car to a Honda dealer for repair.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2004

I have been experiencing a 'check engine' light on intermittently in my 1998 Honda Accord ex-l 4 cylinder for the last couple of thousand miles. I have been doing some reading up on it and there are so many others with the same problem and I have reached the conclusion that Honda should be doing something about it. I would like to see some sort of investigation into what the problem is and what they can do to fix it.

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

This is my mothers car (1998 Honda Accord ex-vl) which was totaled in an accident due to a sudden unintended acceleration. My wife was the first owner of the vehicle and my mother has had the car for about 2 years. She had stopped, put the car into park, got out to open a parking lot gate, got back in, stepped on the brake, and shifted the car into gear. It immediately went into a high rev and accelerated uncontrollably resulting in the car smashing into a wall about 60' away. Luckily the air bags worked and neither her or my step father were seriously hurt. Her foot was definitely on the brake pedal as there is a lockout mechanism that prevents the car from being taken out of park if the brake pedal is not pushed. This may or may not be related, but she was having difficulty getting the handle to move. The problem with it not moving had occurred previously, usually on a slight incline, but the Honda dealer looked at it and told her nothing was wrong. My mother is a retired bus driver with a perfect driving record, no accidents, and only uses one foot to control the vehicle.

16 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Upon slowing down with brakes on, engine starts to buck and wants to quit, also happens when starting from a stop position. Does not happen all the time but has caused a few situations whereby a collison almost occurred. Dealer advised, checked out by dealer, stated nothing found would not go any further. Note-above dates approx. , have dealer invoice if needed.

17 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2002

The engine completely blew out one day. I was on the way to work and there was an explosion under my hood. Honda put in a re-built engine and I have had nothing but problems since then. A few months later. . . The paint gradually started to fade away on the roof. It has only gotten worse and will get much worse. It is a 1998 Honda!! this stuff shouldn't be happening!.
