Five problems related to car accelerates on its own have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while sitting at a stop light, the vehicle independently accelerated, causing a crash between the contact and another motorist. The motorist pulled forward and the contact's vehicle crashed into him a second time due to the unintended acceleration failure. The contact shifted into park in order to stop the vehicle from accelerating any further. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the contact was informed that no failures were found that could have caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 82,000. Kmj.
1999 Accord accelerates while parking. Engine revved to 6000 rpm. The consumer experienced sudden acceleration four times each time the vehicle was being parked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who felt there was nothing wrong with the vehicle therefore no repairs were made.
While starting up vehicle driver's foot was on the brake pedal and vehicle suddenly accelerated. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle ,and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic determined that the thottle body was corroded, and needed to be replaced.
Upon starting the vehicle and moving the gear from the park position to the reverse position, the vehicle accelerated. There was persistent intermittent sudden acceleration, upon shifting after ignition from park.
Owner states vehicle suffered sudden acceleration when shifted from park into reverse. Vehicle collided with two others vehicles. Please provide further information.
