Tank Assembly problems of the 1999 Honda Accord

Three problems related to tank assembly have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2002

While driving at any speed and with no warning fuel tank cracked, causing fluid to leak out, and it could cause a fire. Dealer notified.

2 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2001

The vehicle died due to the fuel line coming off, which was due to the faulty installation of the gas tank. The vehicle would stall on numerous occasions. The dealer could not duplicate the problem. The consumer was sent a recall of the ignition switch. Scc.

3 Tank Assembly problem

Fuel gauge incorrectly registers amount of fuel in tank. Even when filled, gauge registers no more than 3/4 full. Occasionally registers full immediately after fillup, but soon drops to 3/4 or less.
