The green key light on the dash starts flashing and my car shuts off when I'm driving down the road. Sometimes my car will not start due to the key light not coming on at all. I have seen this problem with several Honda Accord�s. It is very dangerous.
My 2000 Honda shut down while driving on the freeway in 2010, restarted right away. When I took it to my mechanic he couldn't find anything wrong. Since then it has done it about 10 times, a few times when cold starting but usually in summer when air temperature is very hot. My mechanic has kept it over a weekend to see if he could get the car to fail starting, but no luck. I am afraid to take it on a long trip even though it has only 129,300 miles on it.
After going for a short drive my car will not restart. Found out that the pcm is defective. The computer module need to be replaced. Non are available. They are discontinued.
