Failure Date: 06/10/2015

2 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2015

I bought my 2000 Honda Accord 4cyl. About one month ago from an owner. Drove perfect for the first week. Then one morning my brake pedal got really soft. After checking all fluids and leaks found out that my brake lines were rusted. I took my vehicle to a small shop to get my brake lines replaced. I then got a call a few days later saying I should go down and check something they noticed on my car. Turns out the passenger subframe is rusted and rotted out. Everything else underneath the car is clean. The mechanic said it's weird that only the passenger side subframe is rusted. He told me it could break apart anytime. Being that it's no longer safe to drive I have to get it replaced now. The cost is going to be about $1200 with labor. When I got home I started doing some research and found that there are thousands of other people who are having the same problem as I do on their Honda Accords. Honda should do a recall on this being it's a structural component to car and safety issue. Hopefully Honda will recall this subframe problem and reimburse me later.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2013

I fear my vehicle is being denied a recall due to it by Honda. My vehicle failed its annual emissions test on Aug. 22. The state sent me a notice informing me that my 2000 Honda Accord was part of a recall class in 2004 that was connected to an emissions problem. I received no alert from Honda about such a recall. When I asked Honda about it this week, they told me my car was not part of the recall class. And they claimed that they could determine this by my car's VIN -- that the VIN indicated it was not part of the recall class. So I am asking for your help to determine if my vehicle is part of the recall. . Read more...

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2012

I first noticed that when the car was idling, it didn't sound exactly right. Then about a week later we noticed that when we began to stop, the car jumped. After that when you go to take off from being stopped the car will rev up the rpms and then the motor catches up and jerks into gear. When we called and talked to a mechanic (highly known for transmissions) about it, he told us that they have been having a lot of problems with the 1998-2000 model Hondas, after 100,000 miles doing this, that the transmission is going out on it, that we need to have it replaced. I was expecting to have this car for a long, long time, as Honda is known for being a very reliable car.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

In March of 2008, my 2000 Accord se Honda's transmission failed and had to be replaced at 122,206 miles; I had to pay for a rebuilt replacement transmission, today I was informed that I will need yet another transmission by Honda, that my car is not safe to drive until the repair is completed, and that the three-year or 36,000-mile warranty will only extend as far as the original warranty (that is roughly another 15,000 miles or until March 2012). The current transmission only functioned for less than 21000 miles. I do not understand why there has been no recall for this model's potentially catastrophic failure of a transmission. Even though I was not in an accident, I easily could have been as I have to commute 44 miles a day to work. Clearly, if the second identical failure happened in so short a time, there is a serious flaw---one with potentially lethal consequences that needs to be investigated.

The contact owns a 2000 Honda Accord. After driving the vehicle short distances, the engine became hot and the contact attempted to restart the vehicle. 10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2007

I noticed when I stopped my car made an abnormal idol noise. I took my car into the local Honda dealer who proceeded to inform me that the spark plug in my car was stripped and the threading coils were now completely stripped as well and the cylinder head needs replaced. The spark plug in the car is a genuine Honda spark plug which if this is not caused by normal wear then it must have been poor workmanship. Honda is only willing to pay for half of the damage (total cost is $2000. 75) I am stuck because I do not feel I should pay for damages that were incurred while the spark plugs were placed by Honda.

When car is driven during hot days and you turn the car off, it will not start again tell the car cools off. This happens during the summer months.
