The accelerator pedal locked up intermittently while driving. This almost caused consumer's vehicle to hit another vehicle when consumer had to apply the accelerator pedal harder then normal. Vehicle accelerated at a high speed and lurched forward. Vehicle was taken to the dealer on two separate occasions, and dealer lubricated the linkage the first time, and replaced the accelerator throttle assembly the second time, but problem recurred.
The throttle cable sticks in cold weather, pushing the accelerator peddle to the floor. This has happened three times. One incident occurred while the vehicle was in gear. The vehicle accelerated to a high rate of speed. The only way to stop was to put the gearshift in neutral and turn the vehicle off. The vehicle has been to the dealership. They could not find anything wrong. This is a potential safety hazard.
When vehicle is put into reverse it accelerates. Dealer has to replace the transmission.
