I was also advised that if vehicle is involved in a front end accident the air bags will not work. I advised them that this is a safety issue and Honda should replace at no cost but the representative just said if you want it fixed you will need to pay $ 541. 00 and turned around and requested for my car to be returned back to me. Takata recall this is my college student daughter's car and we are very concerned. Her airbag light is on and we recently read there was an airbag recall on this model that can lead to serious injury or death!!!. When we called curry Honda, sierra said her VIN number was not in the recall. I want clarification on this ASAP. Are all 2003 Hondas in danger? since her VIN couldn't be "located" on the recall list, we want Honda to pay for a diagnosis since her car fall in this category. She has an automatic (not a stick shift) 2003 Honda coupe.

Takata recall: an indicator light on the dash periodically indicates a possible problem with the airbag system. I never know when it's going to light up and it does eventually turn off. 17 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2015

I received the recall notice in August 2015 for the airbags. After taking my vehicle in to the dealer to be repaired, when I picked it up and drove about 2 miles from the dealer the airbag light came on again. So I called the dealer on my way home and told the service tech that the light was on and he said to bring it back in the morning. When I got to the dealer, the light had went off. And they stated it had to be on before they could even look at it! so for the past 3 weeks I've been driving around with this light staying on, then going off for 10 minutes then coming back on. I don't think my vehicle was repaired. The light wasn't on when I took it in for the recall repair and now it's on? something's not right!.

20 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2014

As I was driving to work the car started slipping, then as I arrived to my destination the car wouldn't go into gear at all. The car was overheating, as I called for service after work I tried starting the car again and it did go into gear. I drove it to the place for service but having to stop and let car cool down a couple times on the way there. They told me it's the trasmission and will need a new one, or have it repaired. Now I'm aware of many 2003 Accords with the same problem, there should be a recall on this! I've owned 4 Honda cars and all from brand new vehicles and never a problem like this before. I have had this problem one other time of not going into gear, but it came out of it after it was cooled and sitting for a few hours, so never had that problem again until now. We don't drive this car very much as I work from my home, so it didn't go out until now. I'm told we must drive it little, which is true, and not hard on our vehicles at all, beacuse this would have happened much earlier if we had. Also the air bag lights come on randomly with no reason, we had it tested and they said it was fine, humidity? that's another one to be recalled! Honda, you need to help us and recall the faults that you know are an issue if you want us to continue buying your vehicles! a used to be loyal Honda owner for all my life.

23 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2013

When the vehicle is started the airbag light in the dash doesn't always go out. This is intermittent, occurs more often on rainy days, and when serviced mechanic said it was probably the sensor, but when put on diagnostic machine, said nothing was wrong. Now there's a recall but only in humid states(?). What on earth is rain but high humidity? additionally I bought all of my Hondas (3) used so I don't know if they were originally sold in a "known humid state".

Our airbag light keeps coming on. We are told that the airbags are inoperable when the light is on. We have had it in for repairs 6 times over the last 5 months. We have spent over $1,100 and still the airbag light comes back on. Srs code 32-80 - Honda dealer is unable to diagnose problem. We were told that american Honda motor company has record of multiple incidences of this code with no know resolution. This is dangerous and a serious safety issue. This is our primary car and we cannot afford to keep pouring money in with no results! we need our airbags to work!.

25 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2011

Intermittently the air bag light turns on when starting car and remains on. May stay off for a month or just a few days and then it goes on again. The problem is attributed to the seat belt latch which is the only part covered under lifetime warranty. My concern is that this happened to a close acquaintance with same make, model, & year vehicle (purchased in same state but different dealer). Too coincidental that it is not a larger problem.

29 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

In addition to already recalled 2004-5 Honda Accords, you need to include 2003's too. Airbag light is on and off intermittently. Quite possibly it is the occupant protection sensor, or some component of that system, in the 2004/05's it is a wiring harness. Mine has been doing this for several months. They will gladly begin looking for a $120 diagnostic charge. This is a federally required safety system, any safety system fixes should be at no cost to owner.

33 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2010

We own a 2003 Honda Accord in good condition. Four times since Jan. , 2010, our air bag indicator light on dashboard has come on and remained on until engine is shut off. Apparently it re-set itself each time. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for this sporadic occurrence. We have discussed the problem with our Honda dealer who claimed to know nothing about the problem, except to tell us that when the light is on, the air bag system will not work. The manual instructs the owner to take the car to the dealer to determine the cause of the problem. The dealer said to bring the car in for diagnosis which will cost $95. 00. Is this a safety issue? have there been any other complaints on this matter? shouldn't a Honda dealer be responsible for a factory installed air bag system?.

34 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

Since January, 2010, on starting the vehicle, the airbag light sometimes remains lit - along with the notice "passenger airbag off", which turns off after a second or two. This is not affected by whether there is a passenger (or package) in the seat, cold or warm start, temperature outdoors or temperature inside the car.

35 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2009

Driver's side airbag light stays lit whenever ignition is in the "on" position. This as is an ongoing situation since September,2009. I know many Hondas in that time frame have the same problem. Many have been recalled, I believe.
