1 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

I was driving the car and the power steering pump went out and a week later my transmission started slipping then all of a sudden my car wouldn't go into gears and the transmission stopped working completely. It will work for 5 min then it completely won't go in any gear. I had to have it towed home. It was on the road on the bypass and I started acting up then it stopped working completely when I went to get off of work and wouldn't go in to gear at all after that. So I had to have it towed home. I had it looked at by a local mechanic and he said the car had a recall on multiple things for me to look into it because it was gonna cost around 2000 to fix everything.

2 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

I was driving in heavy rain and my windshield wipers stopped working and I could not see a thing. I was lucky enough that other cars went around me on the highway. I called my local Honda dealership and they stated that their is not a recall on my vehicle and wanted to charge me an outrageous amount to replace the wiper motor. There is currently a recall on this for 2003 Honda Accords no. Q78 when the motor gets wet it stops working but for some reason it does not include my vehicle VIN number. Also I had a leak in my power steering and took it in for the recall and they said it was the pump and ended up charging me $500. 00 to fix but it is still leaking.

Honda had a recall on the power steering hose but by the time they contacted me to go in my power steering pump started making severe noise. Now no one will cover it.

5 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2013

Honda Accord 2003 power steering hose recall. Went to dealer and was told the both power steering hose and pump are leaking. The recall covers hose but was charged $600 for the pump replacement. I noticed smoke or burnt smell yesterday.

6 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2013

As a result of the recall on the power steering hose deteriorating, my power steering pump went out. I paid $700. 00 getting it fixed in January 2013. I was told by Honda of tiffany springs that my power steering pump going out had nothing to do with the hose deteriorating. I trusted them and had it fixed and paid in full. I took my car to another very trusted mechanic and was told otherwise. Since then, dealing with Honda of tiffany springs has been a nightmare! about two weeks ago my steering started making a really weird noise. Low and behold, Honda of tiffany springs told me my power steering pump was out again. Another $700. 00 to fix it. . . They show no records of ever replacing my power steering pump, therefore there is no warranty. I have contacted an attorney about Honda of tiffany springs. Not only have they lied about my power steering and stolen money from me on parts that were clearly under recall or warranty, they have stripped my oil pan plug for the second time and my car was leaking oil all over my garage. I paid my trusted mechanic to fix that problem not once but twice, which Honda of tiffany springs should pay me back for. I am sick of Honda of tiffany springs!!! ever since mr. Chezik got sick & passed away, that place has gone downhill. I am ready to buy a new car, but not from there!! I will never take my car there again! I love the service manager, dave rose, and I do understand that his hands are tied when it comes to hiring and firing the losers in the service department. I have purchased cars from there since 1989. That has come to an end. I love Honda's, but this nightmare has left me no other choice than to buy a Ford. Words that I thought I would never say.

9 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2007

Similar to the recent Acura tsx recall, my 2003 Honda Accord has the same similarities with the power steering hose. I was told by an Honda dealership that a hole has developed on my power steering hose. Any time I turn the car there is a noise that the car makes, this is extremely noticeable in cooler weather. Due to the high quote my Honda dealership quoted me on, I have yet to fix the problem that my car has had for the past two years. In addition they told me, I would need a new power steering pump, hose, and fluid.

10 Power Steering Pump problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2003

I was traveling on the interstate and my gas pedal locked, then my steering system, followed by the gas pedal. I was surrounded by huge trucks and was traveling with small children and was able to stop the car. I then repeatedly smashed the brake pedal and forced the steering to stir me to the side of the road the car went into the ditch and came to a fairly abrupt stop. When I arrived to the dealership, they told me that it was a problem with the alternator, but suggested that I should replaced the water pump. I asked for an engineer to look at the car and be given a statement of safety before I risked my life driving the car. They agreed when my brother-in-law asked but I was denied after he got off the phone and spoke with me although my car is 90 days old and under a full bumper to bumper warranty.
