Vehicle will not upshift after downshifting to passing gear. The results are sometimes slowing down below highway speeds (55-65 mph) to await transmission to shift up, impeding traffic. This is intermittent. After starting vehicle it may surge to 15 -25 mph when engaging transmission in drive. Also, at highway speeds 55-65 mph vehicle has a severe vibration in the front end. The transmission will sometimes downshift while driving under normal condition and immediately shift up again with slight jerking motion. These issues were previously diagnosed to be transmission problems (96,371 miles). At that time (08/03/2007) Honda replaced transmission at my cost. (actually my insurance extended warranty). This is happening again in same vehicle (165,430) and Honda declines (phoncon american Honda 03/16/2010)to say it is a transmission issue and refuses to make needed repairs. Dealership said to replace tires and do balance and alignment and it would resolve problem. The only thing it did was increase vibration and make my wallet $550 lighter. Research on the internet indicates transmission issues are a safety concern for several owners of 2003 Honda Accords. I found over 350 different transmission issues for 2003 Honda Accords alone. I highly recommend nhtsb look into this matter. The mileage I am reporting is miles on 2nd transmission.
2003 Accord ex v6 transmission failure. The car shakes vigorously due to faulty transmission and the pedals pulsate. This is very dangerous and can cause an accident. The dealer says the transmission needs to be replaced but the car only has 120,000 miles! I've seen hundreds of similar reports and Honda should be liable to replace their faulty transmissions.
Honda Accord 2003 v6-85,000 miles transmission lockup, then failure. The problem with Honda v6 Accord transmission, reported here on this website. Note, my transmission has gone on my 2003 Accord with only 85,000 miles on it. Had the car diagnosed at markley motors Honda in fort collins colorado 80527-0520. I submitted the problem to 'american Honda', and because of the sheer dangerous condition the car displayed today, probably won't drive the car until 'american Honda' decides to do something about this. I, or my wife, kids could have being killed if we were on a freeway and it locked at acceleration like it did today twice. Warning to others, this is not a simple Honda transmission problem, it is severe enough where it shakes the entire car. I will not buy another Honda anything, let this be a warning to all regarding Honda. They have not issued a recall for this vehicle for this transmission problem. The cost to me has being, $98. 00 for a diagnostic test. Markley motors wants $3,413. 16 to replace the transmission.

Around 6000 km, whenever I step on the gas pedal, I would feel the car shake slightly. . And an engine sound. At first, I thought I just needed an oil change, even though 6000 was a bit low km for a oil change. . . I thought maybe because I purchase the car in winter time, and it was now summer time. I took the car in for oil change, also tellign them the problem. . . And sure enough. . After the examination, they told me there was oil leak bottom of the car. . . And the whole transmission needed to be replaced. The service centre also told me that this is a very rare incident, and it is consider a defect. . And this kind of stuff only happens to cars over 600,000. Also that, if I had waited. . . All the oil could have dripped and would cause a whole engine failure. Either way. . It was not a good feeling to know that I needed to replace my transmission at 6000km.
