I was driving in kansas city kansas. On 635, it was around 6 pm. When I started exiting onto another highway. Due too car stalling by either transmission slipping, or the fuel pump stalling the engine . Headlights too dim with weird angle in lighting as well, longstory short. . . . I was almost the cause of a massive wreck . . . It made for a quiet drive home. . . So I was also going to see if they've had a recall on 2005 Honda Accord aside from airbags.

My car stalls and lost power when I was driving on freeway at high speed and when I accelerate, car is almost lost power and I have to slow down.
Afraid car might kill me! hello, I have reported this issue before but am getting zero help. My car has a problem where it is burning through the oil, I've had numerous mechanics try to figure out what is causing it but, nothing. I would get an oil change today and before the month is out, I would have to continue checking and putting oil in the car because it would be completely dry. No leaks ever detected. . . I've change the oil to full synthetic and still have the problem. The vehicle continuously losses power when driving uphill, my check engine light stays on and the light in the glove compartment does not go off while driving. I'm worried my engine will blow up if the problem persist. I am the original and only owner of this vehicle. There is also a problem with the suspension or axel, when I push hard on the brakes, the car makes a noise like the bottom fell out and is dragging metal on the floor. Mechanic also cannot figure that out, I've paid over 6k in diagnosis, repairs and time trying to get help and nothing. I would like to get my Honda checked and fixed. I anxiously await a response and solution to this car. I have covid and this is my only source of transportation.
While driving, part of the bearing became lodged in the park prawl (the metal piece that engages park), causing the car to roll away after it's shifted into park.

Takata recall -I am the owner of a beautiful 2005 Honda Accord ex. I am the original and only owner of my car. My car has this issue where it is burning excessive oil and engine siezes. (I mean really bad). I would get an oil change today and car would be out of oil within 2weeks. . . I've spent over 3000k dollars on trying to figure what the problem was and no mechanic could figure it out. I finally went to a special mechanic who finally did some research and figured out that this was a known issue by Honda and have not yet done a recall for the issue. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. I have a Honda Accord v6 2005 model car and maintenance done as per manuals. I am now getting jerks while accelerating or after starting and putting car in reverse gear. The check engine light turned on now. I did a code scan and getting code p0741. This is an issue with transmission power. I did some google and found that Honda had this manufacturing defect in this model and lot of car were recalled for this reason. I found NHTSA campaign id number : 11v395000 addressing similar problem and as of 23rd September 2014, 1. 5 million (1512107) vehicles has been recalled for similar issue. The Honda recall number is r89 and the recall was placed on August 27th 2011, for Honda Accords 2005-2010 for the transmission. This issue is transmission power is not working as expected and it jerks while changing gear or speed. This is dangerous from driving safety point of view. I need help by the NHTSA as I strongly feel that my case is genuine and with reference to NHTSA campaign id number : 11v395000, my vehicle should be considered for this recall by american Honda. On that note, I do hope to receive a resolution response , in a timely manner, from your executive team or someone else that is in a position to do the right thing.

Driving on the freeway and entered caldecott tunnel in berkeley, CA. All of a sudden the car would not go and the rpms shot up to 6500. I had nowhere to go as I was in a 2 lane tunnel. I put my flashers on and slowed to a stop. This freeway has a very high volume of traffic and I was lucky not to get creamed by someone. There was no warning light that came on. There was a burning smell. I was "pulled" out of the tunnel by a very nice man who stopped to help me. Had the car towed to my mechanic who tells me that the transmission is done. This is a 2005 Honda Accord v6 and after researching, I see that there are numerous complaints about the transmission. I plan on calling Honda to see what they plan to do. I could have been seriously injured.
Drove the car to work slowed down behind another car to let them turn and the car stalled like as if the car was in neutral, I pulled over because it never happened before turned the car off and then restarted the engine and drove about 10 more minutes to work. Later on that day after my shift was over took it to a mechanic who scanned for a code which read p0741 in his words meant transmission issues.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the engine rpms increased abnormally as a burning odor and smoke was emitted from under the hood. Additionally, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, who advised the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 70,000.
Automatic transmission v6 Accord. Cruising at highway speed of 65,moderate traffic, around 4:35p, level ground, ambient temp of about 71, approx 2000 revs. Transmission suddenly shifted down (no kick down), engine raced at 6500 revs, caused car to rapidly decelerate. Luckily there was a gap in traffic behind me, otherwise could have shunted. Took foot off gas, looking for gap to pull over to the shoulder when car suddenly shifted back into a gear normal for speed - revs dropped to about 2500 to 3000, speed around 45. Gently pressed gas and increased speed back up to normal highway speed. A whine is coming the engine bay - more noticeable at lower speeds. Transmission subsequently not shifting smoothly.
At only 93,000 miles, my transmission is shot. Just one year after my extended warranty runs out based on time, not mileage. Honda's reputation of reliability makes people not even expect to buy a warranty. Their reputation is a lie. Any american car would have a 100,000 mile warranty the transmission. I will definitely never buy a Honda again. The financial burden of replacing a transmission so early on is not easy and this car should be recalled for it's common defect, as I am learning online.
Brought vehicle in for routine maintenance timing belt replacement. Honda technicitan notified me that the timing belt tensioner was leaking and could leak onto the belt causing it to slip off of tensioner. . He further stated that this type of leak goes un-noticed until timing belt is replaced. Loss of power can occur if timing belt is not secured.
My 05 Honda Accord v6 auto transmission gave up on me only at 65000 miles. Honda does not want to pay for it because the warranty has expired and they quoted me over $4400 to replace it with a new one but the only has 65k miles on it. I'll never buy another Honda for this reason.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
Driving down the street when the malfunction indicator light went on. Within 5 seconds the engine stalled. Was able to pull to side of road and stop the vehicle. Turned off the ignition and was able to start the vehicle. This matches the scenario as outlined in recall #59558. Contacted local dealer and Honda America and was advised that my vehicle is not part of the recall.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home where an independent mechanic inspected the vehicle. The mechanic stated that transmission fluid was burning causing the rubber to expand and the vehicle to slip between gears. In addition, the mechanic stated that the gear system would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
Car shutters between 35mph and 40mph and has lost transmision fluid. Its problems are exactly like those in a prior class action suit against Honda. They haven't fixed the problem. A recall was received for a software update for the transmission, I think they are just trying to see how many they have out there doing what they have already been sued for. After the software update nothing changed.
As accelerating the vehicle a hard jerk happens while shifting gears from 1 to 2nd gear. The rpms go extremely high even if you accelerate the car gently and once you let go the car takes a couple of seconds to drop the rpms and you feel the jerk and then the thump. If I need to brake suddenly the car makes like a thump sound and the transmission feels and sound abnormal. This only occurs when you first accelerate the car and you're going from first to second gear. It doesn't happen on any other gears. I haven't felt this in any other car. This incident with the gear change happens always with the car, in the mornings, at an signal intersection, and/or leaving any place. It also occurs recurrently.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord sedan. While driving 2-3 mph attempting a left turn, the vehicle exhibited an abnormal noise just before stalling without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where he was advised that the front passenger side axle was fractured and the driver side axle was also damaged. The dealer replaced both front axles. The contact called the manufacturer but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 130,000 and the current mileage was 141,000. The VIN was not available.
Vehicle rolled backwards into the adjacent street while the transmission was in park on several occasions. Updated 05/06/11.
Saturday afternoon 9/13/08, my wife experienced an unusual uncontrollably high rpm rapid vehicle acceleration when shifting from park to drive. Vehicle involved was a 2005, Honda Accord. Fortunately this event occurred in a private wild life parking area and not in an area congested with people where serious injuries/death could have occurred. Sequence of events: 1. Initially vehicle could not be shifted from park to drive. Engine was shut off and restarted 3 or 4 times and she was then able to shift into reverse and back out of parking spot. 2. With foot on the brake she shifted from reverse to drive and then started forward. 3. At that time the engine started a rapid uncontrollably rpm increase and vehicle acceleration. 4. After moving forward and turning right to avoid hitting a tree head on the vehicle struck and jumped over a landscape railroad cross tie. The total distance traveled from the point of shifting into drive and jumping over the cross tie was approximately 30 feet. 5. At this time she believes the uncontrolled high rpm & vehicle acceleration stopped. 6. Vehicle continued forward for 15 +/- feet and struck and damaged a heavy metal guard gate. 7. Vehicle front end and underneath damage has not been assessed at this time. 8. Cause of vehicle malfunction is also unknown.
