My vehicle went in for airbag recall repair in August at bay ridge Honda in brooklyn new york and when I got it back a airbag light started showing on my dashboard I tried calling the dealership and got brushed away and they kept hanging up on me so I have a appointment to go back in on December 16 but they keep telling me to pay 150 dollars to figure out the problem my mechanic checked it for me and said it was for the passenger air bag that they changed plus the driver side one that I never had issues with since I bought the car. Never been in a accident either.

Air bag indicator constantly showing. Safety issues & recalls warning air bag may explode dealer unable to fix the problem . It's a glinch?.
Takata recall I read the information on the dot website but wasn't able to find the information needed. The indicator light is showing on my dash. Could this be related to the recall? from startup to shut off.
Takata recall. Took my Honda to get recall done. Got call back that said the recall was done but the airbag light was permanently on due to the recall replacement. They said it was because new part they made did not sync with my seats because they are after market seats?! my Honda was bought brand new by my grandfather at breakaway Honda in greenville south carolina, and the seats in it are the same ones that came with it when drove off the lot! I now live in north a carolina and crown Honda of durham nc is refusing to due anything about it saying it's not their problem, and that I need to take it up with the SC Honda location. Take my car to get a recall done and got a car back with airbags that no longer work?! doesn't make sense it me. I now have a car less safe than before.

After fixing takata air bag recall for Honda Accord 2008 sedan, srs air bag light started coming on and stays on even after the car is in drive mode. Gillman Honda (sam houston pkwy, houston TX) wants to charge for detection and fixing of the issue. I have written about 2 weeks ago to Honda motors America to address this issue since this is a "safety" issue but they have not responded yet. I request NHTSA to investigate since so many Honda cars have "srs light come on" issues. In many cases as I have read on online forums and blogs the detection is 1. Driver side wire harness problem 2. Driver side seat belt buckle sensor. Honda motors should cover this issue as a part of lifetime warranty and a safety recall should be issued immediately on Honda cars with such know problems.

2008 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to brake , engine, electrical, air bag light, seat belt, light problems and radio problems. With no impact or apparent reason the air bag light has come on. One Honda dealer told me that no air bags would deploy if in an accident and another Honda dealer told me that all the air bags would deploy in an accident. Both advised against fixing as very expensive to determine reason for light. I drive a lot and do not want to put myself or my family in danger. Please help.

My airbag light remained on so I got a diagnostic test from pohanka Honda. This occurred before the srs recall was issued. Honda said I needed to replace my srs unit along with my gauge control module because they didn't communicate with one another. Honda was going to complete the repair & labor for $1,200. I didn't have the money but was concerned for my family safety so I ordered the parts and got it repaired outside the dealership. Here's the issue, I was seeking reimbursement for parts ($500) but Honda manufacture only willing to reimburse me for just the srs unit ($200) and not the gauge control module ($300). I believe the recall should also cover the gauge control module since the code that was discovered by the Honda technician revealed the gauge control module had to be replaced as well. Since I followed guidance by pohanka Honda, I'm without $300 because the recall only covered the srs unit. If pohanka Honda would have completed the repair for $1,200, Honda manufacture would have reimbursed me for $1,200. I believe I'm being penalized because the gauge control module isn't covered under the recall.

Our 2008 Honda Accord srs indicator is on which alerts a potential problem with the airbag or seat belt tensioners per owner's manual. We took the car to Honda dealer. It took them hours and charged us $157 but couldn't find the problem. They ended up suggesting either we replace srs unit $603+tax, and if problem still present then replace the gauge control module $555+tax. Hereby we're reporting this issue and hope Honda will recall the vehicle.
I have not had an accident yet but my airbag light stays on all the time my seatbelt light does not come on at all that is with them on or off . I cared it to Honda dealership where I service my car was told by the manger that this was a safety issue that this would be taken care of so they ask me to leave my car with them come back next day car is not fixed change of heart they say they will have to charge me over 600 dollars I have checked into it Honda is suppose to fix seatbelt issues up to 150 thousand miles my car has 119 thousand miles I have so many reports about 2008 Honda Accords with this issue but they have not sent me anything about this problem please help with this thank you.
The air bag light on the dashboard came up around April 30th 2015 and in may 14th 2015 I took the vehicle to the Honda service center in tallahassee. After a multiple points inspection the mechanic said that the "side curtain air bag" was non functional and replacement will cost $526. 00. The vehicle has never been involved in any kind of accident or incident were the air bags could have been deployed. The mechanic was very careful not to say the air was defective. How a part that has never been used could be non functional? the Honda people knows about this defect but want to pass the cost to the customer and when we can not afford that kind of sticker price they are putting our lives in risk.

My airbag light stays on and the alarm doesn't go off when the seat belt isn't put on. I just began to have trouble starting the vehicle. Now I can't start it and I've had to have it towed to my home.
Air bag light came on and stayed on. When local Honda dealer checked it out was told that there was an internal failure of the srs control unit. Was told it needed to be replaced. When asked what caused it, was told that if the car was not in an accident they didn't know. The car had not been in an accident. Am planning to have it replaced but with the recalls of this part in older models, felt as if I needed to report this defect in case it turned out to be a problem in other models of this car. Dealer was notified.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 50 mph, the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the air bag system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.
Air bag light came on intermittently, then stayed on. When to Honda dealer in yorba linda, CA. Dealer tested srs system, no errors on diagnostic code. Only thing dealer said was to return and leave car for several days, that they had no idea what is causing this. Dealer also said would be at my expense if they found anything wrong and for time to investigate. I have not returned.
Airbag passenger light kept staying on longer and longer, eventually turns off. At 114,xx light stayed on then soon after airbag light indicator on dash was illuminated. There are no accidents on the vehicle. No repairs or modifications to affect system. I took the vehicle to dealer since it was out of warranty by 3 months. I did tell them about the intermittent issues but assumed all was well. They did a diagnostic that took well over 4 hours to isolate the possible issue. Dealer's response; after pin testing fuse box found bad pss fuse/ relay box. Was told to sign a waiver to drive my own vehicle out the lot. The entire airbag system is down and will not work until repaired. I was in shock to know that if I had an accident my family and I could be in grave danger, they said they have no idea how long it could of not been working. I called Honda America to complain case# n012014-10-0900059. They said the car is too old and out of warranty for them to cover the repair. I have since parked the car and have'nt driven it since. This is our 7th Honda and never would expect this type of service or reliability on this vehicle.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact had a safety concern the airbag and seat belt warning indicators were illuminated. The problem occurred numerous of time. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic diagnosed the srs unit air bag was inoperable would not deploy in a crash. The seat belt could be repair under the manufacturer safety warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified about the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. Lb.
Summary: there was a premature failure of the srs module in my 2008 Honda Accord which, According to a local Honda representative, renders the airbags useless in a crash or can cause premature deployment. The airbag light was on as well as the engine light which the dealership mentioned they were both related. Charging a diagnostics fee when I had already performed the diagnostics through work and associated partnerships (fleet management provider and maintenance vendors). I had to pay out of pocket close to $640 for parts and labor. Seems silly as this was a safety related service. My engine light was on about 4 months ago and they said the light was on due to my cadallic convertor, so they replaced and now the engine light is back on and this is due to airbag issue.
My air bag light stays on. My passenger airbag light that says "off" is always illuminated. Recently, my "side air bag light" stays on for about a minute after my car is on. It did not do this before.
Srs indicator light came on the dashboard while driving. Took the vehicle to a local Honda dealer and was told that they were not able to perform any diagnostic as the srs unit has failed and was not communicating with the system. I had to pay $482 to replace the srs unit. Although the vehicle is out of warranty, it has less than 36,000 miles on it and the srs unit replacement should have been covered by Honda.
Srs indicator light on dashboard came on and subsequently the passenger airbag off indicator also came on. Vehicle taken to Honda dealer for service where srs control unit was determined to be inoperative. Replacement was authorized at a total cost of 616. 49. Similar premature srs control unit failures for 2008 Accords were noted on the NHTSA website.
Air bag light suddenly appeared on in August I had to pay for diagnosic to find the problem results were srs module is bad. They want me to replace this safety issue, $405 to replace. Shouldn't this be covered by american Honda.
2008 Honda Accord, drive less than 3 yrs, airbag light is on while driving. Called Honda north America office & Honda dealer in houston, they refuse to give a free diagnosis, because the mileage is over 36,000 mile. I told them this is a safety issue, should carry a lifetime warranty.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the front and rear passenger air bags became exposed from the outer covering.
