Takata recall had a front impact collision. Only passenger side air bag deployed. But came out with such force, it hit my shoulder wrist and arm. And I was driving. It also shattered my windshield and burnt up my dashboard.
Both front driver and passenger side air bag curtains that connect to the roof are leaking water into the vehicle when it rains. I'm aforesaid this could affect my airbag in the event of an accident. I never realized this is why my driver seats are wet when it rains.
My 2008 Honda Accord driver side airbag is currently not under recall, however every other airbag in the vehicle has been recalled and replaced. Therefore I have no confidence that the driver side airbag is safe. I have just received a notice of impending bankruptcy re takata. Do I have recourse for a replacement for a vehicle currently in use, given that the airbag may be defective, and the company is going out of business?.
takata recall I had gotten into an collision involving a deer on 10/26/2016. I was going approximately 60 mph when I struck this roughly 110 pound deer. The impact was on my front bumper on the passenger side of my car. When I took it to get repaired I had no other choice but to go with my insurance's geico express facility since all the shops were full from hail damage vehicles. In the estimate and on the repair order I received from geico and amm collision. My vehicle never had the work done to the structure untill 2 months ago. It stated that there were 3 structural components that were worked on. The right rail assembly 4 hours or repair time 60810ta5a00zz (where front and rear panels connect, heavy buckle), the left inner panel 3. 6 hours repair time 04695ta0a00zz(rolled with putter panel, includes time for brackets at the top of frame), and the right front panel (crushed, cost effective to replace)60659ta5a50zz. My vehicle was in the shop for only 2 business days but some how put 41 hours worth of labor into my car. I had gotten into another hit and run on 9/20/17 where my side airbags didn't deploy. I took it back to amm collision where geico tried to total out my vehicle, falsify paperwork by taking off componants(transmission), undervalue then retain my vehicle. When I dropped my vehicle off back with amm collision I had taken pictures of patches of rust on structure componants and broken tack welds. Still today I have broken welds in my car. But the major concern was geico and amm collision trying to hide the fact that they didn't do the repairs to my frame for a whole year. And when I requested the photos of the repairs and measurements from the body alignment machine from the shop, I had the police called on me and I have a felony criminal trespassing warning at amm collision for asking for paperwork that they cannot provide.
Passenger side air bags deployed after child exited vehicle and closed door. Vehicle was parked and running. Child closed door with more force than normal.
My side airbags deployed when I hit a very deep pot hole. I took it to the dealer but they said they cannot help because it's not on a recall but there apparently is a problem because the airbags deployed. The airbags are now hanging in my car. If I get into an accident these will obviously not work. Please advise what can I do to get these fixed as it clearly is a malfunction issue.

"takata recall, my complaint is because I received a recall on my srs ecu parts to be changed and Honda refuses to give my dealer permission to fix my car inspite the fact that I received a recall letter from them. They continue to say that because the light is not on in my car for the air bag that it do not need to be fixed. But yet I have a recalled on my side airbag and my fontal airbag. Its not fair that these people would not care that my family and I am at risk for injury or to injury someone. Please help me because this has cause lots of mental and physical strain on my health.

At a full stop passenger exited the vehicle and shut the passenger front door and the side curtain airbags and front passenger seat side airbag deployed. The force of the airbags being deployed also damaged the back passenger door weather strip that creates a seal when doors close. Headliner is damaged as well. Seat belt on front passenger side has been deployed and is non functioning.
Approximately at 9pm 2 April 2015, my son was getting ready to drive home from work in his 2008 Honda Accord when his drivers-side side airbags deployed hitting him in the head. There was no accident or side collision involved. He was parked in the clarkson public library parking lot. The safety recall on the airbags are only up to 2007. After this, then the recall should be extended to cover the 2008 models.
I was grabbing my books out of my passenger seat and when I closed the door my side top airbags and passenger seat side airbag completley deployed! I went online and found many different cases of people closing there doors of 2008 Honda Accords and airbags going off. I just bought this car it is in brand new condition and now I have to drive around with deployed airbags it 1) looks ridiculous and 2) is completley unsafe because godforbid I actually get into an accident with them deployed! I think it is absurd if I have to pay 5,000 for new airbags for simply shutting my door a little too hard!!!.
I have a 2008 Honda Accord. While the car was parked, but running, the front passenger door was shut slightly harder than normal, and the side curtain and seat airbags deployed on the passenger side only. There was not a side collision or evidence that the car was hit. I took it to gillman Honda in houston TX and paid $125 for a diagnostic test. They said the sensor for the side airbag went off (code f4-11) and it wasn't covered under the extended warranty. I made a claim with Honda USA. An inspector came and claimed he noticed previous damage (scrapes) to the undercarriage of the car and even though the airbags didn't deploy then, that may have caused it. I told them my concern is that the airbags deployed so sensitively and I have a 3 year old child. I don't want him to get injured. How can I ensure it won't happen again. They responded the reason the airbags deployed was inconclusive and it would not be covered.
I was parked, someone got out of my passenger side front door. After shutting the door, all of my passenger side airbags deployed, including the passenger seat airbag.
My husband and I along with my two daughters got in our 2008 Honda Accord on Monday afternoon, my husband was the last one in. He got in the front passengers side seat and when he shut the door the side airbags deployed! my oldest daughter was in the seat behind him and when the airbags deployed it hit her in the face causing burn marks on her face and neck and also she has some loss of hearing in her right ear and a constant ringing in her ear! we contacted our insurance company they said they could not help us! we then contacted our local Honda dealer where we purchased the car and they said sorry no recall on your car and its not under warranty but when I explained my daughter was injured their attitude changed and were told to call american Honda and tell them what happened! at this point we were told to drive the car to our local Honda dealership for them to run tests on the car to see why the airbags deployed! now it is just a waiting game I guess!. . . . Updated 07/31/14.
While entering my vehicle all of the passenger side air bags deployed when the front passenger closed the front door. As a result my daughter received facial and ear injuries. My daughter was sitting in the back passenger seat. My car was started and in park. After this happened I researched on the internet and found dozens of other frightening incidents similar to mine reported involving 2008 Honda Accords. The next morning as soon as the dealership where I purchased the car opened I called the manager and was informed to immediately bring it in which I did. My daughter is experiencing headaches and ear ringing sensations. I have scheduled a doctor's appointment for her to be seen tomorrow morning.
While walking towards my own vehicle with my 2 year old daughter, my fiancã© got in the driver side door of our 2008 Honda Accord and closed the door. Right after he shut the door a loud explosion was heard. The side air bag (on the top and within the seat) had deployed. The car wasn't even started at the time. Like everyone else Honda does not find it to be their problem. My insurance is helping me investigate the cause of the deployment since there was no accident. I would really like to know how many times this must happen before someone other than the consumer is held liable. I do not feel safe putting my daughter in the car if this is possible.
Tl - the contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag and the side curtain air bag deployed prior to the failure, the passenger¿s side air bag warning lamp had illuminated sporadically. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine what caused the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 65,000. Kmj.
I came to a stop and my 15 y. O. Son got out of the car and shut the passenger's side door and the passenger side airbags deployed. He was in a hurry so shut the door hard but I would have never expected the airbags to deploy. Also, my front seat passenger's airbag deployed. I took it to Honda dealership that I purchased it from. They said it was not a manufacturer defect. I filed a claim with my insurance company as instructed by Honda. I then got a call that I was responsible for $100. 00. I have now received a letter from my insurance company that it is a manufacturer defect and they deny my claim.
During a monsoon the passenger door was open and slammed shut by the wind. The passenger side airbag deployed while the vehicle was parked and turned off. The deployed airbag damaged the headliner and seat and misc other parts.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the passenger's side air bag and the side curtain air bag deployed suddenly. The contact was not injured from the deployment. The contact called a dealer, who stated that there was nothing they could do regarding the erroneous deployment of the air bags. The contact called the manufacturer and the manufacturer stated that they would send a case manager to further investigate. The failure mileage was 90,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after a passenger exited the vehicle, the driver's side air bag deployed inadvertently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis but no cause for the failure was determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 60,000.
My vehicle was in park, I was in the driver seat and I had a passenger. The passenger exited the vehicle and shut the passenger door and passenger side airbags deployed unexpectedly. There was no collision and no damage other than the damage that the airbags caused. I got my car home and called my insurance. The insurance had the car towed to an auto body shop for inspection. Upon inspection, they found no reason for the airbags to deploy other than the possibility of a faulty control module. The auto body shop confirmed that there was not damage to the vehicle that would cause this incident. I contacted Honda America. I had the car towed to a Honda dealership where Honda and my insurance company sent a representative out to do an inspection. My insurance confirmed that there was not damage that would have caused the airbags to deploy but Honda is saying that my vehicle has frame damage that would have caused this incident but Honda will not provide me with a report of their findings. After research, there have been numerous 2008 Honda Accords with this same airbag problem that Honda will not recognize or agree to fix. I am stuck with a car that has significant damage and decreased value because of a faulty Honda part. Please help.
Side airbags deployed when door was closed. Car was parked, and turned off.
My fiancã©e and I were on our way to the hospital to take our daughter to the er. I pulled in a parking spot and put the car in park. The key was still in the ignition and when my boyfriend got out of the car and shut the door the passenger side air bags deployed. There was no accident just him shutting the door. How is this possible??? I did some research and noticed that not all ins companies will pay for this and Honda is not paying for it either. I find this hard to believe as this is a safety issue. I went to the Honda dealer today and was told I need to come back in the morning and speak to the service manager. What can I do about this as this is not my fault but a defect with the car.
Certified 2008 Honda Accord purchased from curry Honda peachtree industrial in georgia. Driving on I-85 at 55-60mph heard a loud explosion and then hit in the side of the head (at high speed) by the side airbag. Side airbags deployed for absolutely no reason. Could have been in a serious accident or killed. Honda does not want to fix defective part on car and wants over $5k. This is a very serious problem and I see that many other 2008 Honda Accords have had the same problem. These airbags should not go off unless there is an impact! contacted wsbtv. Com and they did a story last night on the news. Wrote to all the bigwigs at american Honda as well this morning. Was contacted by a case manager at american Honda this morning and they are towing my car down to a dealership south of where I live to be "looked at" with no guarantee of being fixed.
I entered my 2008 Honda Accord in my driveway and after closing my drivers door, my side airbags and drivers seat airbags deployed. The key was not in the ignition nor was the engine running. Honda is giving me the royal run around and will not take responsibility to fix this. They want me to go through my insurance company to get this repaired, when in fact there was no accident. They are blaming it on a sensor that is under the car, which they say may have been damaged. This car is still in showroom condition with 22,000 miles. They just had an airbag recall on 2002-2004 models, their customer service dept in California were very rude and advised if there is a recall in four or five years then I can be reimbursed. There have been numerous complaints of this happening to many 2008 Honda Accord owners looking through the internet. It is time that someone makes them accountable, as loyal Honda customers we should be taken care of if their reputation is quality and excellence. We should be treated properly and have this repaired. It is time Honda recalls their 2008 Honda Accord and fixes this issue now, before it deploys and someone gets killed. Why must it take someone losing their life before anything is done.
