1 Brake Squeaking Noise problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2010

I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord lx, 3. 2l in August of 2008. It currently has 22676 miles and I had to replace the rear brakes last week. I began hearing a squeaking noise the week before and took the car to my local Honda service center. They informed me that the rear brakes were completely worn. I questioned the brake wear because of the low miles on my vehicle and the fact that it is a front wheel drive car. Honda stated that they are aware the brakes are an issue, however it will not be covered under warranty.

2 Brake Squeaking Noise problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2010

I purchased a brand new 08 Honda Accord ex-l in March 08. Around 10k miles I started noticing during light braking the brakes would squeak. I figured the pads were just braking in and that the brake dust was causing the noise. After washing and waxing my Accord I inspected and checked the brake calibers, pads and shims to see what caused the noise. I noticed that the rear brake pads had little to no pad remaining. I replaced the rear brake pads with less than 13k miles. I paid it no mind because I'm a mechanic, but now I'm concerned. I currently have 24k miles on it and again I'm experiencing the same brake squeaking noise. I have purchased eight Hondas, three new and five used. I currently have four with over 850k miles on them total. Throughout my Honda mania, I have never experienced such a Honda deficiency. Today, I have read comments and complaints against Honda dealerships and Honda America. I'm totally over taken by this and can only assume Honda will do the right thing soon and continue to provide premium products and services.

3 Brake Squeaking Noise problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2009

I am a victim of premature rear brake pads and possible worn rotors. I first started experiencing a loud screeching noise coming from the rear brakes in the summer of 2009. I also heard that noise everytime I put the car in reverse and started reversing. I brought the car in for an oil change in October 2009 and advised them of the situation. They claimed they heard nothing and to wait for the next service to observe the brakes. I came in a month later for a different service and advised them I still hear the squeaking noise from the brakes. They wanted me to resurface my rear rotors and change my rear breaks. I didn't understand how my car needed to have my rotors resurfaced and brakes replaced so soon. I had the car for a year so my brakes or rotors shouldn't be serviced this early. After I declined and was upset, they said to wait for my next service to do both service. Then I went to many websites like carcomplaints. Com and other sites where I seen many other owners were experiencing the same thing. I couldn't understand how the rear brakes needed to be replaced under 15000 miles before the front brakes. I keep checking if there is a recall but nothing yet.

6 Brake Squeaking Noise problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2008

I purchased my 2008 Honda Accord on last March. I was happy with the car, until recently, because I began to hear a squeaking noise from my rear brake system. I took my car to the dealership, and they said that it was the weather. They said the noise should go away when it warms up, and now we warming and I continue to hear the squeaking noise. Something has to be done, because I only have a little over 13k miles on my car. I have heard and read many complaints about this problem, but Honda refuses to do anything about. Something needs to be done, because we as the consumer should be paying for anything that is out of our control. I feel Honda should order a national recall on the Honda Accords to rectify this problem.
