My car uses 1 qt oil weekly and makes a grinding noise when starting. Change oil every 7,000 miles and have to add 1 quart weekly. Vsa & oil lights stay on even after clearing the error codes. Replaced the cam shaft sensor which malfunctioned weeks later. Pearson Honda & west broad Honda, richmond va informed me there is no recall for this problem. Unbelievable after reading so many blogs about this issue from other Honda owners. This model Honda is a lemon and Honda needs to repair at no charge to the owner. Replaced wheel bearing on front and now the rear is making a loud noise. Never had a Honda with these many issues. Wanted to trade it for the 2013 and dealer offered me $6,700 for a car I paid $26,000 for. This is ridiculous!.
Required premature replacement of rear brake pads with normal use. Rear brakes wore down to sensors after only 22,000 miles. Original front brake pads are still in very good condition.
My fiance' purchased a 2009 Honda Accord ex 4 door sedan. She complained about a month ago that she started hearing a high pitched squeal coming from the rear. She had about 19k miles on it so I was bewildered what it could be saying it can't be brakes so it must be a bearing problem. I took it to the dealer, where he reported I needed brakes. He said "Honda admits they might have an engineering problem with the brakes with premature failure, but won't admit it. " service rep stated that the pads especially in the rear are far too small to handle the weight of the car so they wear especially faster than other vehicles. He stated they did a modification by adding a steel sensor so the owner knows when they are getting low. He wouldn't admit that before the modification, there were no sensors on the brakes people would be metal to metal and not know it because of the extremely low miles of wear. Online reports put brake failures for this model starting from 2008 anywhere from 14k to 21k. . Read more...
I had brand new car bought in March 2009 , later in April 2010 I had accident and airbags didn't blow out and I hit my head, sent it to dealer by insurance company and figured that sensor was defected and they exchanged , later on they flights for abs and vsc come on intermittently , sent it to dealer , they figured sensors are defected and will exchange , my concern is how come car with defected parts released to market , and Honda company didn't do any thing for me , the car cost over $ 20,000. 00 it's better to buy a $ 2000. 00 car.
I was hearing grinding noises from my front and rear brakes on my 2009 Honda Accord lx 4 door sedan. The Honda dealer reported that my rear brake pads were worn down to the sensor level and would need to be replaced. My Honda has 16,000 miles and I am the only owner and driver. When I inquired that for brake pads to wear down this fast, the Honda dealer did not respond. After further investigation on google, it appears that this is a defect in the quality and craftmanship of the brake pads and Honda or the dealer is not willing to accept or acknowledge this defect.
My 2009 Honda Accord had 18,000 miles, mostly highway miles. I began hearing a metallic sounding noise. Ii took it to the dealership where I bought it and they said my brakes were worn down to the sensors. For 240 dollars they replaced my rear brakes. Honda paid half after I complained. I only had my car for 6 months. Something seems to be wrong with the rear brakes on the Honda and Honda should fix this problem. Thanks for your time.
