The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated the vehicle was being inspected for registration when she was told the rear brakes needed to be replaced. The brake disks were replaced but the contact expressed concern with the brakes failing at such a low mileage. The failure and current mileages were 19,000. Updated 06/03/11.
Brake system near failure with smoke and burning smell coming from the rear wheels.
Brand new 2009 Accord. Loud & annoying brake squeaking. Honda dealer acknowledges a design defect and states that Honda is working on a solution. I check with them and complain often. On inspection there is premature wear, on a vehicle that now has less than 5k miles. Guess I'll have a rich widow when my brakes fail before the Honda recommended brake inspection.
Rear inner brakes wore out at 26,000 miles. The brakes should not wear out this fast. Most of the miles put on the car were highway miles. There is a defect in the brake system for this car. I am afraid this defect could cause the brakes to fail in the rear. Honda knows there is a defect but doesn't recall the car and fix the problem.
