6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2019

Driving at highway speed with cruise set at 60; braked & slowed to exit onto another road; when manually accelerating to get up to speed initially the car didn't respond to acceleration. Suddenly it took off out of control, as if the cruise resume was hit (it wasn't) and the brakes were non-responsive for several seconds. Acceleration continued until reaching over 70 mph. Not only were brakes non-responsive but the car was difficult to handle. I purchased this car new and it is immaculately maintained. This was my first incident and was very scary.

11 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2017

I called Honda customer to report a problem due to constant check engine lights and to get my car checked with a recall notice . They told me I will charged to see whether my is eligible for the recall notice and told my check engine problem cannot be checked out since my mfg warranty expired since it is only good for 6 yrs from the year of manufactured date and not the sold date . I bought my car 2011 so my warranty is still valid , but for whatever reason they are going by mfg date and sold date.

12 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2015

During a recent inspection, I was told that my brakes barely passed and would only last approximately another 3,000 miles. I have 17,000 miles on my Honda! I inherited this car last year from my uncle who passed. He purchased the car new in 2010 and put less than 4,000 miles on it in 4 years. I heard there was a problem with the brakes of certain years on Accords, including the one I have. I was also told that Honda would fix this as a courtesy to owners because there were so many complaints. In 2015, this is no longer an option. At no point has Honda recalled the vehicle. How can they get away with putting such cheap products on a vehicle that costs more than 30k? this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I will fight this and make such a big stink until this problem is cleared. At no point should I have to pay to replace brakes at 17,000 miles. This is absurd. What can I do at this point?.

13 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2015

The traction control devise is malfunctioning. . .

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2014

My car sped up while I was driving and I could not stop it.

15 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

When I went to apply the brakes to stop at an intersection, the brake pedal was hard and brakes did not work at all. If it is under 20 degrees outside, this happens when the car is first driven after sitting for awhile. I am now looking at replacing the brake booster and check valve. This is a major safety concern because I do not know if my car will stop or not when I am driving. After doing some research, Honda had recalled previous years models for this same issue, but there is not a recall for this particular model year. Several people in forums are complaining of the same issues. Perhaps yet another class action lawsuit is in order for.

16 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the brakes were applied in extremely cold weather but the brake pedal would not respond. The pedal was resistant to being depressed, which was a recurring failure when there was snow or extremely cold weather. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic test, who stated that the brake booster valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was alerted of the failure and declined to provide any assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000.

17 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2013

Rotors went bad at 40k miles.

18 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2013

The rear brake started making noise. When I checked at the repair shop they told me that I need to have the rear brake replaced. The total cost I was told was $ 305. 66. The car was approximately driven - 26500 miles that too under normal conditions, mostly on highways.

19 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2013

I found that Honda Accord has recalls. I got my oil change in April/may - 2013 for my Honda Accord and Honda dealer found everything good and brakes were close to 8 (on the brake measuring scale) on all the wheels. In just 2 months, the rear brake started making noise and then I came across the Honda Accord brake recall issue. Now I have got the repair done and sent the details to Honda. Honda is denying the reimbursement saying that my car does not fall in the recall category (they have selected some vins which meets those conditions). My question is how Honda can decide which vins have the problems and which does not have until people report them. Anyway, I am very unhappy with Honda about not reimbursing this repair cost.

20 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2013

The rear brakes prematurely wear out. I have had to replace the rear brakes twice. First at 23000 miles and again at 53000 miles.

21 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2012

Rear brakes diagnosed by Honda as "requiring immediate attention" due to excessive wear. This with only 21810 miles. Honda claims wear is at the "low end of average. " I feel wear is extremely premature. Honda claims no mechanical manfunction contributed to the wear and repairs are not covered by warranty. This vehicle has a normal mix of highway and town driving with very little city driving.

22 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. While at the dealer for routine maintenance the technician stated the rear brakes would have to be replaced because of wear. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated the brakes wore out prematurely. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a complaint was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 20,169. Da.

23 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2012

Car stearing wheel jerks and shakes when breaking at 65 mph due to break rotors went bad at 23000 miles dealer reserfaced the rotors for free as one time goodwil jester problem came back after 3000 miles. It is a re-occuring problem where consumer has to replace rotors every few thousand miles.

24 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2012

Went to Honda dealer for regular service at 25000 miles. Was told I needed rear brakes replaced and flushed. $200 for the brake replacement and $170 for the flush. Seems very early to have this service done. The car is still under warranty but was not covered.

25 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2012

At around 25k miles, my Honda Accord began making loud screeching noises. After taking it to the repair shop, they said that my rear brakes were gone and needed to be replaced. This is completely ridiculous for the mileage I have driven. I did some research and found that many other people are having the same exact issue with premature wear in their rear brakes. In fact, there was a Honda settlement for '08-'09 Accords (and a few '10s) where they gave partial reimbursements for brake replacements. However, Honda refuses to admit any wrongdoing and claims that this issue has been resolved in all vehicles thereafter. This is obviously a lie and they need to take responsibility for this continuing design failure. They need to pay for brake pad replacements and/or truly offer a fix for what causes the premature wear.

26 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2012

At 42k miles, brake wear indicator began to indicate premature wear on left rear wheel. I know this was a problem with 2008-2009 and some 2010 models, figured it should have been fixed when I received mine.

27 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2012

Bought my 2010 Honda Accord v6 exl new. At 45,000 miles the car experienced extreme shaking of the steering wheel and shuddering of the whole car when the brakes were applied at a speed of 70mph while on a trip. This was occurring whether the brakes were very lightly applied or more firmly applied. A repair shop said the rear rotors and rear brakes were needing to be replaced. The repair was performed and it reduced the symptoms by about 90%. Now last week on another trip, the car began experiencing the exact same symptoms as it had prior to the 45000 mile repair. I have an appointment at the originating Honda dealer on July 5th to address the problem. The over the phone speculation by the service advisor is "it's the front rotors". These are expensive repairs but more important, the condition is dangerous when it happens. Few things are more important than the brakes!.

28 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2012

The rear brakes are worn in under 10,000 miles.

29 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2012

Applied brakes on freeway at 70 mph to exit ramp, steering wheel started to vibrate . My 2010 Honda crosstour has approx. 16000 miles. Vehicle is unstable when this occurs.

30 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2012

I had just dropped my child off at school and was in line to leave the school parking lot. I was very slowly moving forward as cars would leave. I was moving slowly when all of a sudden my car quickly accelerated and would not stop regardless of me hitting the brakes. I ended up hitting the car in front of me. This all happened so fast. No injuries but very scary.

31 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2012

Rear brakes on 2010 Honda Accord are almost "metal on metal". This should not take place with a car that is less than 2 years old with only 17,500 miles.

32 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2011

Had to replace rear brakes at 21,837 miles costing $212. 81. My VIN not part of settlement but there is obviously still an issue with Honda brakes. Would like to be informed of any investigations or lawsuits. I am seeing many complaints on this site with no defect investigations?.

33 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2011

When I took the car for servicing to the open road Honda (rt 1s) in NJ, they told me that the wear and tear on the rear break pad is heavy and it needs to be replaced. I drove the car mostly highways during my previous job for most of the miles and I didn't even apply much breaks and now the dealer is saying that the rear break pad is gone and it needs to be replaced. However the front pad is as good as new. How can it be ?. I came to know that there is a class action suit with Honda on this subject, but it seems they're covering only a certain few VIN number, this is total absurdity, if the breaking system is failing for any / all models of Honda, it should be considered.

34 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2011

Needed rear brakes at 21189 miles.

35 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2011

Premature wear brakes, both front and rear, excessive noise.
