I took my car for a regular service at the dch academy Honda and the service dealer told me that I need to replace rear brakes. It was very surprising that at 22k miles the rear brakes have gone. He told me about the complaint filed for the 2008-2009 and some 2010 models. I filed the complaint and found out that my VIN is not eligible for a reimbursement. I believe they should consider all the 2010 models. I dont know what is the criteria Honda has to indentify faulty brakes. Clearly, Honda has flaw in keeping track of thier inventory or they are not willing to acknoloege cusoter complains and act on the informaiton.
My car is currently in for inspection with ~16,000 miles. I was just told by Honda that I need new rear brakes. It is going to cost me $210 to have the replaced.
Went into my Honda dealer for an oil change and tire rotation and was notified that my rear brakes in my 2010 Honda Accord were shot at 14,805 miles. Never in my entire driving career have I ever experienced this and I am 65 years old. Evidently there has been a problem and consumers have not been notified. Waiting for a call from Honda and will be checking into this further. There is a class action lawsuit against Honda regarding this.
At 18,000 miles the car breaks started to squeak but after a few miles it stopped squeaking. At 19,000 miles my car started to shake a bit when I applied the breaks and it then continued to squeak every time I applied the breaks. On 8/20 I brought my vehicle in to have the breaks done at pepboys and they told me my rear breaks had gone through the pad and was tearing into the rotor. My Accord only has ~25,000 miles on it and the front brakes are fine.
Took my 2010 Honda Accord into priority Honda in chesapeake, va to have the routine oil change and tire rotation done. I have been taking my car there since it was brand new to have all the scheduled maintenances done. At 30,000 miles, I am being told I need rear brakes and they are almost metal-to-metal and that Honda was aware of the issue and would reimburse me up to 150. 00 of the repair cost which was close to 200. 00. I called Honda automobile customer service to only be told by them that my VIN# is not covered and it was only very few 2010 Accords that were affected. When I called the dealership back, they simply just apologized that they had given me wrong information, advised me that it was normal for rear brakes to wear out in 30,000 miles (which I know is not correct), and said it was wear and tear and I had to pay for the cost of repairs. Really. . . . This is the second Honda I have purchased, but I am mighty afraid it will be my last and I am seriously considering trading it in for anything other than a Honda ASAP. What is also very concerning is I see that I am not the only one that has had the same exact problem.
At 28,000 miles the rear brakes had to be replaced, rotors cut to the cost of $314. 59. I bought the car on March 29, 2010 brand new. John in the service department at middletown Honda tells me the front brakes are perfect and this is normal wear and tear on the rear brakes- really. I drive highway miles to and from work, no excessive braking so not it is not normal wear and tear on rear brakes. Never had this kind of problem with any of my oher new cars - never had this problem. The only thing I was able to get from john was the 800 number to call because he "thought" he had heard something about a class action suit. Thought, really hmmm. In all my years of driving, over 40 years, never have I had this kind of issue any of my cars nor had the service department show the nonchalant attitiude towards a customor. Repeat business, I don't think so.
Honda Accord LS 2010 brakes out of nowhere started to make hissing sound. Pulled car over to determine reason and determined it only made sound when pressing brake pedal. The car had less than 15000 miles on it and therefore was shocked by sound. Honda has created a premature brake issue and must be held accountable .
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving in reverse the vehicle made a loud metal noise. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic test that indicated that the rear brake was worn. The dealer stated the failure was due to wear and tear. The dealer replaced the rear brake pad. The manufacturer filed a report and advised that him that he would receive a call back. The failure mileage was 20,490 and the current mileage was 27,050.
2010 Honda Accord. Consumer states premature brake wear the consumer was informed by the dealer the rear brakes had worn out unevenly with only 22,000 miles on the vehicle. The consumer learned of a class action law suit regarding the brake material that was used on certain vehicles when they were manufactured. However, the consumers vehicle identification number was not included.
I purchased my 2010 Honda Accord in oct 2010; I brought my car back to dealer 3 times for the same problem, excessive vibration during braking. Dealer re-surfaced the first 2 times, replaced rotor the third time. However, after 7k miles, the problem came back again.
2010 Honda Accord. Consumer states problem with rear brakes the dealer informed the consumer the rear brakes only had 15% life while the front brakes had 90% remaining. The consumer believed there was a defect with the rear brakes.
Car had rear 2mm and 7. 5mm front send my letter to get refund from Honda but Honda claim the VIN on my car was not defective so they do not pay for my breaks send a second letter still watting for Honda to replay.
P:remature rear brake ware.
The rear brakes of the vehicle, which should be first replaced at about 70,000 had to be replaced at 25,000 at a cost of about $175 due to a faulty design in tthat the brakes had excess ware because the braking mechanism didn't release as they should. The car is only one year old and most miles are highway miles with little braking. I do not ride the brake pedal and never have.
Premature brake wear.
2010 Honda Accord. Consumer writes in regards to wheel vibration issues. The consumer stated her husband noticed a strong wheel vibration while driving on the freeway. When her husband applied the brake, the vibration could be felt. Updated 11/04/13.
Steering wheel and front end shakes when driving over 60mph. Issue started when car had a few hundred miles on it. Dealership replaced tires, balanced tires many times, performed alignment, replaced front rotors. Problem still exists. Seems unsafe to drive at times. Car now has 21000 miles.
Multiple times I will press on my brakes and my car will attempt to accelerate. I have to completely press my brakes in to get the car to decrease in speed but it will sound like it is stalling and make a rumbling sound. I had the recall done. It seemed to work for a short period of time (3 mths) and now it's back to doing the same thing. I went to the dealership today to only find out now I need to get my brakes replaced at a little less than 35k on my car and the front brakes have no wear. I also was told that the recall was not for that.
Rear brakes completeley worn out at 16,500 miles - mostly highway.
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the rear brakes would screech when the brakes were not engaged. When he did engage the brakes, there was a delayed stopping response. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the brake system needed to be replaced because the wrong brake system was originally installed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified. The current mileage was 16,349. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
My 2010 Honda Accord is loud when starting, sounds like a race car. It also does not stop on a dime and in fact speeds up as I apply the brakes. Thirdly, the revs are too high and lastly, the gear shifts on acceleration is not smooth at all and sounds like the car is pushing too hard to change gears! these problems happen all the time. I took to dealer month ago saw nothing. Only had car two months!!.
I took my 2008 Honda Accord for a 15,000 mile check-up and the dealer found excessive wear on my rear brakes and had to replace the rear brakes and service rotors on an out-of -pocket cost to me.
I have a 2009 Honda Accord with 27,000 miles and at the dealer today they told me that I needed new brakes at a cost of over $500. I have always got over 50,000 miles from a set of brakes on all of the other cars and trucks that I have owned. I now find out that there has been a class action suit over the brakes on this car.
I took my car in for service and it has only 19000 miles on it yet they told me my rear brakes were worn and need to be replaced. There is a class action settlement for the same issues but my VIN is not covered. I only replaced brakes 3 times over nearly 160,000 miles on the previous Accord that I owned. I believe the brakes are defective.
2010 Honda Accord ex-l 6 cyl. - brake screech, brake smell and sliding to stop (like brakes are locked). Has happened at least 8 times - a definite life-threatening situation on this vehicle. Also, at 17,000 miles rear brakes and rotors are completely worn. Brake near-failure and smell occur intermittently. 2 dealers "cannot duplicate the problem" and have done nothing. I have also contacted Honda north America, with no help there, either. I am seeking redress via bbb autoline/CA lemon law. This vehicle is very unsafe.
My new 2010 Honda Accord crosstour has the same brake problem as the recalled 2007 odyssey. After stopping if you release the brake pedal and than lightly apply pressure to stop the car from rolling forward the pedal becomes spongy and starts to go down towards the floor. It goes down about 2 inches lower than a first application. I have had this reported to the dealer 3 times and they say their is no currant fix. Problem has continued since it was brand new. I traded my 07 odyssey in for this same problem.
