While driving approximately 60mph on highway this morning. There was no potholes, debris, or collision. Driver curtain airbag and seat airbag deployed. The front steering wheel did not. There were no dash lights on or indications that something was wrong.
While driving at approximately 70 mph. , my passenger side airbags suddenly deployed for no apparent reason. Thankfully no one was in passenger seat or hurt, but the excruciating noise was deafening and this put me at risk since it sounded like an explosion and zero visibility out side window. I had to pull over on side of road and puncture the bags and gain composure and visibility to continue my trip. I have called the recall center and found there were no active recalls but I see that this has been an issue in the past with other 2013 Honda Accords. I have been waiting for the caseworker to have an adjuster look at the vehicle but they are already setting me up for the denial to fix the issue and replace airbags. There were no warning lights to give a signal that this might happen. Case worker is supposed to send me to adjuster to get the vehicle inspected but 2 months have gone by. I am afraid that other airbags might deploy and cause a wreck or fatality if it impairs vision. I have to have the car to drive…and am getting zero cooperation from Honda.
I was involved in a accident in which my car had stalled on me in the middle of a intersection and I was hit by on coming traffic and I also got hit by a truck on my left hand side which had been just repaired by someone who was certified and pay through insurance company when I got my vehicle back the ads light was on my dash as well I was hurt and the airbags split open my lips and my head.
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the driver's side curtain air bags and the front driver's seat air bags deployed without impact. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
I was involved in a car accident on 12/12/2. The air bags didn't deploy. They definitely should have. I have pictures of the outside of the vehicle. I can receive police report the insurance currently has the vehicle. We were traveling 70mph and was tboned then ended up sliding out of control and hitting the ground after a 4ft drop off a drainage ditch. Two points of impact the car is totaled and not one airbag deployed.
Takata recall. Nothing has been resolved. Additionally, vtc actuator. Honda has repaired Accord's from 2008-2012 but not 2013-2016 which have the same issue. Various forums and my own vehicle has the issue. I have videos and sound to prove the same issue that Honda is repairing on Accord's from 2008-2012 on the service bulletin. The vehicle is stationary. When turning on the vehicle, the vehicle starts with a loud start-up and sometimes when the weather is really cold, the engine won't start. Honda does have a recall for the same issue but for older cars.
2 items- was there an air bag recall? & starter push button malfunction, it doesn't start at times when pushed, it's getting worst, I'm up to over five trys and now it feels like I'd be stuck at any location. It started about two months ago. Someone on youtube claimed that there was a recall on the 2013 Accord push button starter.
Received notice of recall.

Received card for airbag recall.
On fri sept 29th, 2017 I had an sua (sudden unintended acceleration) in my 2013 Honda Accord that devastated part of an office building and wrecked my car. I was in an office park parking lot and backed up, hit a 3 foot high concrete bollard, was annoyed, put the car in drive, felt an odd lurch as though the bumper was stuck on something although it was not. I put my foot on the accelerator and at that moment the car rapidly accelerated to what felt like 30 or 40 miles an hour. I tried to brake but it felt as though there was no pressure under my foot. I gripped the steering wheel in terror and steered the car away from other parked cars and into a concrete wheelchair ramp with rails and an office building. The air bag went off. The concrete ramp and office building stopped the car in its tracks. I put it in park and got out. I'm doing ok but mostly very very grateful I didn't hurt or kill anyone. Minor airbag burn on my arm and a contusion to my knee. I feel the airbag only came out a little and hit my left arm, not the rest of my body. But I could be wrong about that. I'm glad because as a physical therapist I've seen some nasty air bag injuries. Also I did not have my seat belt on because I often put it on as I leave a parking lot. Not a good idea, but also no nasty seat belt injury. Just stiff arms, painful left knee and neck, a few days later. I realize everyone is going to say I had the foot on the accelerator but I was at a dead stop when I put the car in drive to accelerate and seriously, after almost 40 years of driving, I have never felt anything like this terror and loss of control. The policeman who came to the scene would testify to the fact that I was completely sane and sober at the time. Today, we heard the car will be appraised as totaled. Good news meaning it will no longer be driven.
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the first interim notice concerning an air bag recall had been received several months ago, but the parts had not been supplied to the dealer from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was unable to provide a reasonable time frame to supply the dealer with parts. The VIN was not available. The contact was not experiencing a failure.
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v344000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
"takata recall". (long term exposure to high heat and humidity can cause these airbags to explode when deployed) my horn located in the steering wheel constantly blares when exposed to high heat while in motion on city streets and highways and stationary. This issue comes and goes and the dealership "Honda world" located in downey, CA. Refuses to inspect the issue. They tell me the probelm needs to occur for them to inspect the issue. Since I bought the car in 05/2016 this issue only occures in the summer time not the winter which tells me it's being caused by heat. Because the airbag is also located in the steering wheel this issue needs to be inspected ASAP. I have videos on my cell phone camera as proof.
My car is making this "clicking" sound when I turn the wheel. Honda knows this is a problem because it is on their service bulletin. My car has 46,000 miles on it so I would have to pay out of pocket for a problem with the car known by Honda! I think this is a load of crap.
Car will not start in the mornings: within a months 3 times. Engine check light constantly lighting up. Back and butt pain including legs falling asleep.
Air bag recall ?.
I contacted pohankanhonda in salisbury maryland about the danger of the air bag exploding and causeing injury to me or my family. I was told that there was a recall but it was regional and this area and my vehicle was not included. They refereded me to Honda of north America and I was told that if I wanted to check out my airbag I would have to pay for the inspection. I disagree because this region becomes hot and the conditions can be as humit as florida or other southern states. It does not make any sense. I do not think I should have to pay for the inspection or put my family in danger.
The driver was was turning left into our neighborhood. The power steering failed and he could not turn. The vehicle went over the curve and crashed into a fire hydrant. It pushed the car up in the air and back down hard. None of the airbags deployed.
As a result of my car having to brake so hard and sudden to stop a possible accident the airbags exploded also braking the seat belts without there being an actual impact. The police arrived, both the sheriff an a local officer. They testified as there being no impact and that it was a factory mistake and said an accident report was useless also to call Honda and state our problem. We did so and Honda refused to pay for the damages. When the insurance got involved they said it was not a accident and refused to pay. I understand is difficult for Honda to accept an error in one of their vehicles; but it also has to be understood that I shouldn't pay for an error that I didn't commit. I hope you guys can help.
Got hit on passenger side tboned on front and back doors and no diployment I took the car to Honda dealer to do the repair thru my insurance dealer tells me the side doors need to be replaced and damage to the pillar and needed new hinges. Two days later go over a bump and airbags deploy. Not when im hit but over a bump they deploy on same side the work was done to the pillar and doors. Two days later . Dont understand why diployment going over a bump but not when I got hit by another car to the passenger side pillar.
After hearing a noise coming from the steering wheel (such as a clicking noise or squeaking), turning it left and/or right, I took it to the Honda dealership on 08/20/2013. The dealership removed the steering wheel and determined that the cable reel for the air bag was defective and needed to be replaced. The dealership did not return the vehicle to me for "safety" until the part was to be replaced (and the steering console had been disassembled). The dealer replaced the cable reel on the car. 2 months after the repair, I started hearing the same noise turning the steering wheel left/right. I took the car back to the dealer on 12/26/2013 with the same complaint. The dealer inspection determined that the cable reel needed to be replaced again (5,484 miles). The dealer indicated that they would not disassemble the steering console, they would order the replacement part and I would have to bring the vehicle in again for the replacement when the part arrives (this is the second repair in less than 6 months). I asked the dealership why this was a recurring issue? they indicated that the manufacturer provided them with the part and they are replacing it According to the manufacturer's instructions. If the issue happens for a third time, they will report this to american Honda for possible engineering issue and recall.
I was parked in an alley behind a coffee shop. I turned the car on and put my seat belt on and put it in gear. It suddenly lurched forward and struck a parked car one car's width from me, ricocheted and hit another parked car (which then hit the car next to it). I could not stop the car, though I tried; then I pivoted again and hit and took down the cinder block wall of a garage. I turned the car off either right before hitting the garage wall or right after. No airbags were ever released. In retrospect, after the shock at all the damage, I believe something was defective about my new Honda Accord.
