The car will fail to start on random occasions, I needed to get gas an the car would not restart after shutting off for fueling. The car will also not restart after car washes and stall the operation of the wash.
Hello the car was working fine yesterday and today will not start. This has happenend before . It makes clicking but refuses to start. I had it checked at ntb could nor find any issues with battery. I am now looking into buying a $400 part + labor to replace a starter on a less than 70000 car. I will never buy a Honda again. This brand has an issue and refuses to acknowledge it.
Car started and ran for half day near end of day car won't start. Battery and alternator was replaced 2 years later car has same issue of car not starting after car was running fine for most of the day .
The vehicle is consuming excessive oil has been doing so for last 20,000 miles or that's when I noticed it. It's losing a quart every 1500 miles. It also seems to have bad seals on the doors and windshield air seems to be getting inside while vehicle is in motion. At highway speeds makes unbearable noises which is a huge discomfort to all passengers in the vehicle Honda refused to make any correction on these problems. As both are manufacture defects. Vehicle only has 73,000 miles I'm hoping that my message here can be seen by NHTSA and I hope they can help with my problems because Honda has failed to do anything. Best regards ateeq afzal ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
Starter began grinding and skipping at 55,000 miles. I drive 70 miles round trip each day, so the mileage doesn't represent the actual limited amount of starts I have had with this car. TSB from Honda declares improper clearance in starter with pinion gear may cause starting malfunction. must rotate torque converter bolts one round clockwise and replace starter to fix. But, this won't fix the issue. The improper clearance is a design flaw. New starter will do the same thing. If the starter malfunctions again, then a new torque converter is required. This is absolutely ridiculous and unfounded in car maintenance. A bad starter design costs owners +3,400$ to remedy the second time. Which still won't fix it. The third starter still won't have the proper clearance.
Starter grinds when press start button. Honda wants $1000 to fix but it is a known problem and should be a recall. . . .
My transmission want out yesterday with 10400 miles on and no lights or nothing came on saying about transmission.
I have started to experience, now on three separate occasions, grinding of the starter as described in Honda TSB 16-002. Apparently this issue has been well documented by other consumers. I feel this is a manufacturing defect that Honda continues to deny. I wish to add my complaint to the others in hopes of eventually having a recall issued.
Manual transmission keeps slipping out of 2nd gear and can't engage in 2nd gear. Was told from transmissions shops that this problem is happening with other 2015 Honda Accords with low mileage.
I tried to start my vehicle with the push button and it won't start. Only 62000 miles and the battery tested good. Seems to be the starter or something electronic that is failing. But sometimes it fires right up. I've read starters have been an issue and wanted to report mine as well.
The starter motor solenoid fails to engage causing the engine to not start. This started at around 38,000 miles and has gotten progressively worse. The only solution is to replace the entire starter motor.
Problems with the car starting. After pressing the start button it sounds like static, clicks, or does nothing at all. Extended warranty has replaced, battery and starter twice in a 2 month period and still same problem. Car only has 56,000 miles. Dealer can't seem to fix problem. Have had car only 13 months.
Recall vehicle was stationary at a gas pump.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. When the contact's wife attempted to start the vehicle by pushing the start button, the engine would not start. The contact's wife made several attempts before the engine finally started. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired, but the contact planned to schedule an appointment soon. The failure mileage was 104,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that she was having issues with the starter. The vehicle would not turn over from a cold start in the morning. The contact had to try several times before the vehicle would finally start. The occurrences had been happening more frequently lately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer holler Honda 2211 n semoran blvd, orlando, FL 32807 (877) 872-9906 and they confirmed that the issue was the starter. The manufacturer was not called yet. The vehicle had not been repaired yet. The failure mileage was 45,000. Tf.
Unable to start the vehicle. Battery tested fine. Honda dealership told me to replace the starter and the car still won't start two days after being replaced. The recall for the battery sensor was also done on the car and the car has been very well taken care of.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the starter would not operate intermittently without warning. The contact spoke with the manufacturer who informed him that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The contact took the vehicle to gillman Honda fort bend (26029 southwest fwy, rosenberg, TX 77471, (832) 361-3804), but the dealer was unable to replicate the failure. The contact linked the failure to technical service bulletin number: a16-002. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.
Starter dies not start all the time. Press button and hear it grind. Car as $42,000 miles. Dealer says not under warranty. I have read tons of complaints that Honda knows about this. It may strand me in the middle of winter. Issue is with 2013-2015 v6 Accord. Dealer wants $800 to replace with same defective part.
I took my car for a battery recall. The dealer corrected the battery recall but I noticed some issues. My car sometimes experiences hard start and then I will get multiple alerts - engine light, check steering light, traction light and tire pressure low light on. I checked the internet and multiple complaints have been posted with similar issue and symptoms.
Difficulty starting. Keyless entry senses key but fails to start when brake is depressed and ignition button is pressed. Happening multiple times/week and becoming more frequent. Often starts after 2-3 attempts. Not resolved by replacing battery, resolving battery sensor recall, or checking fuel pump. Problem seems to be starter and has left me stranded when car does not start.
I had my battery check due to a battery recall from Honda. After they fixed the issue. I experience a hard start and then after the car start. I see engine light turned on and other warning lights. Engine code p2101.
My 2015 Honda Accord with abt 70,000 miles on it; the car wouldn't start, the engine wouldn't turn. In the process of troubleshooting we discovered that his starter went out. We called the dealership and they said it wasn't covered under warranties. Just a few months ago, our neighbor had exactly the same problem - he has a 2015 Honda Accord and his car's starter went out. He spent some $700 fixing it and it was only a few months out of 3 years 36,000 miles warranty. There seems to be a high rate of starter failures on newer Honda Accords, which may necessitate a recall.
Acceleration hesitation. I have bow owned this car one year and today (may 23, 2018) was the 7th time that hesitating while leaving a stop sign or signal light, has happened. Twice its cause a vehicle to slam on their brakes behind me.
My battery is having trouble. Car continues to randomly die. There are no lights or items being left on while I am outside of my vehicle. Battery has been tested and replaced with same issue. Inside car all electrical starts to flash quickly when trying to start my car (this shows car is dead).
, while driving on the highway it was perfectly fine but when time came to get off I stoped at the first light, tried to drive off then the car started pulling, took off driving then the car just totally shut off no type of warning that there might be a problem and also no dash board lights lite up to notify me that there was a problem.
The engine makes a very loud rattle at cold startup for about 1 to 3 seconds. It only makes this noise when starting the car for the first time that day, unless it has been sitting for 5+ hours, then will rattle again at cold startup. Also, the engine burns 1 quart of oil approximately every 2500-3000 miles requiring additional oil to be added.
Upon breaking car accelerated, happened on two occasions, brought car to Honda and they found no defects. Happened again with more severity, informed Honda and to date they have nor contacted me regarding this same problem.
When starting car initially in the mornings and driving car in reverse with only braking and not applying any gas, after the first 10 feet in reverse the engine will rev up by itself and then stabilize, or engine will gulp air with engine jerking, or engine will rev up very high with the final last sound of clashing metal between the engine/transmission and the engine dying on the spot. These problems only occur with the initial starting of the car and only in reverse. The car functions normally after the events described above. The car is always garaged. The engine behavior described is intermittent and unpredicatable. Clashing metal and stopping of engine last occurred July 26, 2017.
While driving on a rural highway at 65 mph and seeing a posted reduced speed limit sign of 45 mph ahead, I started slowing the car by decreasing pressure the gas pedal(never removing my foot). As I reached 45 mph I increased pressure on the gas pedal and felt the car braking. I removed pressure from the gas pedal and the car continued to coast. I stepped(increased pressure) on the gas pedal again and I felt the car braking again. I removed my foot from the gas pedal and doubled checked my foot position and I was using the gas pedal. I moved my foot to the brake and felt the brakes were working. I was able to coast to an open area beside the highway and stop the car safely. After stopping I notice the engine oil and service lights on and engine was off but power was on. I shut the power off. After a minute I restarted the car and it runs like nothing happened. Outside temperature was 95 f.
Starter motor. Will not turn the engine over to start. When the push button start is pushed you get a buzzing sound because the starter is not engageing the flywheel on the torque converter. Sometimes you have to push the start button as many as 5-10 times before the engine will start. I feel this is a safety issue because if you have a medical issue and need to go for help and the vehicle will not start that is a big problem. Honda knows about this issue but will do nothing about it. Honda's TSB 16-002 does not fix this problem. I have replaced 4 starters on this vehicle not including the original starter and still have the same problem. This problem needs to be addressed before there is a serious problem caused by this issue. This has been a problem on this vehicle for approx. 5yrs. .
Tl-the contact owns 2015 Honda Accord sedan. The contact stated that the vehicle will not start. The battery and everything is in tact and the vehicle will not start. Nothing or any kind of method will work to start this vehicle. The vehicle also makes an abnormal winning noise. No lights illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to diamond Honda (626) 671-4601 1517, 17525 gale Ave, city of industry, CA 91748 to be diagnosed. They were informed that the failure was due to a bad starter and a new one needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was informed and they did nothing. The failure mileage is 42,000. Jw.
Due to Honda using soy based wiring, rodents chewed through the wiring in our engine area and in the underside of our hood area. Required repair of over $3000 at folsom lake Honda. Honda knows this is a problem. . . Why no recall? they should pay for repairs. They are selling rodent proof tape at dealer or suggest putting dryer sheets in our engine area??!,, I believe class action suit has begun in California. We would like to be involved.
Page 2 of 2 - I have since taken the vehicle to brandon Honda and basically was advised by a service advisor, manager and America Honda CO that my vehicle is ¿operating by design¿, ¿my issues could not be duplicated on several test drive attempts¿ and ¿it¿s a safety feature¿ talking about when the vehicle can engage into reverse. As of today I have no resolution to the cvt transmission and front end concerns brought to the attention of brandon Honda. I was also told by a service technician that ¿this was a safety feature¿ and ¿it¿s operating as designed¿ which both are not solutions to resolve a mechanical/safety defect in the vehicle or design. I have given brandon Honda multiple tsbs to review each visit and kept having them rejected. One of those tsbs mentions having to drop the transmission to replace a module inside of the casing. Obviously the dealership is doing whatever they can to avoid having to perform this repair and keep dragging their feet to accomplish absolutely nothing. The original Honda case # 05095478 was opened and then closed via voicemail prior to me receiving my vehicle back from the dealership to determine if the issue was resolved, yet to my satisfaction. What will it take for Honda to act and make my vehicle, experience whole????? I bought my vehicle with hard earned $ not counterfeit, broken or life threatening. Note: I have video of the vehicle in reverse motion while continuing forward, along with several tsbs, work orders, pictures and documents to support my case. This is my only means of transportation and I¿m driving over the howard franklin bridge (15,899¿) every day in my commute to and from my office. Feel free to contact me for the video, pictures or documents needed to support my case. Respectfully, a very unsatisfied brandon Honda customer.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. While attempting to start the engine, the vehicle failed to start. On several occasions, while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The vehicle was taken to goady Honda in alhamdia, California where it was diagnosed that the alternator was faulty. The alternator and battery were replaced, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 400.
When making a lane change at a speed of ~60mph on the highway. The car lost control and jerked towards the left. It zigzagged between the left and middle lane and hit another vehicle twice. Although damage to our Honda Accord was mainly cosmetic, the engine was dead before/after the collision. The accident occurred in new brighton, mn, and the law enforcement case # is 16507355. We've reported this issue to american Honda (case number 04824446) on July 11th, 2016, but didn't receive proper attention. After a simple check and test drive, they claimed there was no issue/defect with the vehicle. Contacted american Honda several times but haven't receive any follow-up yet.
