The gas pedal failed to work on three separate occasions. The car essentially went into “limp” mode where the whole car stop driving out of nowhere. These models of Honda are known for the head gasket prematurely going out which has caused me car to have multiple misfires, warning lights, loss of power. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership and an independent mechanic.

My vehicle is losing power while traveling on the road. All of the system lights are flashing and the gas mileage is ridiculous. It sputters uncontrollably and just stalls out and drops speed really quick. I’m really concerned for my well being. I’ve spent so much money trying to fix these issues and I don’t think it’s fair to me or any other Honda owner to have to be held responsible for something that is clearly a manufacturing issue. Although there was not a crash during this incident, it’s very dangerous and I’m terrified to drive my car but I have no other transportation right now.

All my warning lights keep coming on in dashboard and my car isn’t accelerating in cold weather after sitting overnight.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2018 Honda Accord equipped with the 1. 5l turbocharged engine. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine-related failures despite multiple repair attempts by an authorized Honda dealership. Problems have included dashboard warning lights, engine misfires, loss of power, fuel odor, and suspected head gasket failure. Most concerning, on September 20, 2025, while exiting a highway with my child in the vehicle, the car suddenly lost power and all dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. The vehicle became inoperable in traffic and required towing. This created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership multiple times for the same or related issue on the following dates: • July 8, 2025 – mileage 80,099 • July 10, 2025 – mileage 80,101 • September 20, 2025 – mileage approximately 82,000 • October 27, 2025 – mileage 84,453 • October 28, 2025 – mileage 84,473 • April 16, 2026 – mileage 93,812 repairs have included replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump and repeated diagnostic inspections, but the issue remains unresolved. I understand many owners of Honda vehicles equipped with the 1. 5l turbocharged engine have reported similar problems involving head gasket failure, coolant intrusion, misfires, overheating, fuel system issues, and sudden loss of power. I am concerned this defect presents a significant safety risk.

When gas gets low, all the warnings come up on the dash and lkas turns off. Unable to use any features.

I am a part of a 1oth generation Honda group on facebook and there are alot of us who should be helpedfor this very dangerous and random mishap.

While trying to accelerate the car loses power. This has happened many times. The Honda dealership has said the system is on back order and they will call me when it’s available. It’s been months. The “jerks”a few times then the check engine light comes on then the car loses power. The dashboard lights are brake system, emission system, electric power steering, hill assist and acc system problem.

Recently bought this car a month ago. I started having problems with acceleration, as if the car was “bucking” every time I would press the gas normally at a red light or stop sign, accelerating from a stop. The vehicle wouldn’t make it up a hill while accelerating it was very hard bucking. I tried pressing the gas a little harder and the check engine light flashed and the car went into limp mode so I had to pull over. Made it back home and I was driving normally and every light you can imagine came up on the dash. I’ve heard from many others with the Accord they’ve had the same problems but once they get it fixed the problems keep happening or the vehicle blows up. I just paid full in cash for this car and my total is fix it is already at 5k to fix.

At approximately [xxx]. Pacific, I was traveling southbound in the fastrak lane of the [xxx] departing from pleasant hill, California headed to pleasanton, California. As I began to accelerate, the engine began to sputter. Immediately, the check engine light flashed on, then the dashboard reported a number of issues ranging from brake failure, tpms failure, power assisted steering failure, vehicle stability assist failure and a number of other issues that I have never encountered since purchasing the vehicle. The sudden deceleration almost resulted in other cars impacting my car as this occurred during the morning commute. I was able to safely navigate off of the freeway. I was on speakerphone with Honda when this occurred. Had I not acted swiftly, a potential high speed rear end collision was likely to have occurred. I immediately took the car to concord Honda. The team at concord Honda performed a diagnosis and advised me that my head gasket was leaking water into the combustion chamber which resulted in the sudden loss of power. I was and continue to be dissatisfied with the handling of this issue by Honda as my car has never been handled by another mechanic. My car has a perfect or near perfect maintenance record and should not have a blown head gasket at 80k miles especially since my car is meticulously maintained and serviced by concord Honda. This car came with problem and I want to this if Honda can fix it for free since its they mistake.

Emission system, low acceleration to the point it becomes a safety hazard in the freeway, I almost got rear ended twice, the car jolts, it stops out of no where, head gasket issues at only 65k. Maintenance was kept up but there’s a facebook group called Honda sport 2018 to 22 on these models of the same issue “christmas tree lights”.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord sport. About 2–3 months ago, the car began having repeated engine misfires (p0301), hesitation, and stalling while driving. At the same time, multiple dashboard warnings appear, including steering assist reduced, brake system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, emission system problem, and hill start assist problem, these failures occur suddenly while the vehicle is in motion, creating a serious risk of loss of engine power, reduced braking performance, loss of steering assist, and disabled crash-avoidance systems. I have already performed extensive maintenance: new ignition coils, a full tune-up, compression test, spark test, and battery/alternator check, yet the issues remain. Diagnostic scans also showed u0416-68 (invalid data from abs/vsa module) in addition to the misfire. This suggests not only a fuel/propulsion defect but also a possible computer/control module failure that links engine, brakes, steering, and adas systems. These conditions match known recalls for the Accord, including 23v858000 (fuel pump failure), 20v314000 (low-pressure fuel pump), and 20v771000 (bcm software issue), yet my VIN does not currently show as included. The fact that multiple critical safety systems fail simultaneously makes this a major safety hazard that could easily lead to an accident if the car stalls, loses braking, or loses steering assist in traffic. I opened a case with Honda customer service (case #15868389), but they refused to cover the repair since my VIN is not listed, despite the failures being identical to those described in the recalls. I strongly believe my vehicle should be included, and I request that NHTSA investigate whether the recall VIN range needs to be expanded.

Honda needs to recall all the newer vehicles starting with 2018 to 2024. All lights on the dashboard is on and while I’m on highway, the car would apply the brake itself and when I released my foot from the pedal, the car run smoothly again. I took the car to Honda dealership last year and I was charged over 1500 dollars, still the car is having the same issue. This is frustrating. Today, the car is showing the camera like I was trying to back up, even though the car was on drive mode. Unbelievable.

This is about the 5th time this has happened to the car. All warning lights appeared spontaneously while driving. The lights would turn off if the car was turned off for a long period of time or is we disconnected battery for a long period of time. We have tried to research the problem and no one seems to know what the cause or permanent fix is.

All lights in dash is on took it to Honda they playing a guessing game injectors head gasket sensors they really don’t know many people are complaining with the same problems.

My 2018 Honda Accord has become unsafe to drive. The car will not go over 15 mph, all the warning lights on the dashboard are on, and the engine and transmission feel shaky. The entire car shakes when I try to drive it, and it seems like multiple systems are failing at once. This happened suddenly and has made the car undriveable. My safety was put at risk because the loss of power happened while I was on the road. The problem has been looked at by my independent mechanic, but it has not been resolved. Car has been giving me issues with the check light engine. They changed spark plugs and the head gasket and still giving me issues.

Engine keep going into limp every now and then and it’s pretty dangerous especially while driving on the highway. All the lights would come on the dashboard. On may 2 it almost cause an accident because it happened while I was driving on the freeway and I’ve changed spark plugs, injector my battery and it’s happening.

The collision mitigation braking system is engaging while I’m driving with no obstructions in front of me. The car slows down completely while I’m on the highway almost coming to a complete stop. This has happened numerous times since Dec 2024. I took it into Honda and they did absolutely nothing besides charge me over $500 for diagnostic fees and told me to get an oem battery and bring it back to be inspected again.

Condensor leak and compressor not working. Condensor replaced under Honda service bulletin but compressor not holding pressure.

I was driving in my car cut off in the middle of the highway. I was able to coast to side of the road. I took my car to the Honda Accord dealership after that and was told it was my head gasket. After that repair, my car cut off once again. I took it back to Honda and was told that I now needed to replace the turbo charger which I’m unable to pay for after paying several thousands of dollar for the head gasket.

Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, I have visited Honda of southaven and Honda of tupelo over three times reporting these problems. Both dealerships acknowledged the issue, with one dealership stating it was likely the head gasket, which they mentioned seeing frequently with Honda vehicles. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? I have not had an inspection by the manufacturer or police. However, I have had my vehicle inspected by two authorized Honda dealerships, where they diagnosed the problem. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, before the failure, there were multiple warning lights on the dashboard, which indicated that something was wrong with the vehicle. These symptoms began appearing shortly after I purchased the car in 2024, and they escalated over time leading up to my visits to the dealerships in 2025.

I recently took my car to the dealer because I have multiple messages on my dashboard saying please see dealer dealing with my brake system, electric power steering, vehicle ability assist, collision mitigation system problem, etc the dealers don’t know what’s going on with it. I recently had service done on it because of the recall with the fuel pump and even before that those messages were showing up.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights became illuminated on the instrument panel. The steering wheel failed to move, and the power steering warning light illuminated, and the steering wheel functionality became limited. In another occurrence, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled, and it shut off, but was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed with an electrical failure, but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the battery was replaced, and the sensor box was cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

Rear camera is showing a blank screen. Gridlines are visible but that’s it. It’s hard to see to backup so I’m afraid of a collision. There are recalls on other Honda Accords but my VIN has not been included for this repair. No other warning lights are on.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.

Scanned for codes. Found p0303, p0299, and p2243 stored. Found coolant entering cylinder 3. Found excessive play in the waste gate rod and found a/f sensor is not responding. Needs head gasket. Vehicle starts up and runs rough. All alerts on alerts on dash on cust states check engine light on. Honda sensing alerts on.

Intermittently flash warning lights on panel- all warnings at once. The vehicle maintenance log does not indicate the issues showing on the panel are relevant. It comes and goes, sometimes for weeks. Dealership has been unable to diagnose issue and the recall for similar issue - which has happened on other 2018 Honda Accords, not showing as related to my VIN# despite being the same problem as the recall notice.

Hi, I would like to address two issues separately for my 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t 6mt; one dealing with the open recall and one dealing with how the vehicle operates dangerously due to poor programming under specific operating conditions. To add, I speak as an engineer working in the automotive space specifically on the design of adas and av systems with iso26262 and sotif in mind. 1) there is an open recall for my vehicle for a fuel pump issue. I am experiencing some of the symptoms of this issue, specifically, my car will hesitate at around 4000 rpms during acceleration. I immediately back off the accelerator and then the check engine light flashes and I lose all engine power. I then restart my vehicle and it operates more or less normally with the occasional illumination of all the dash lights. I have taken my car to the dealership expressing my concerns (braman Honda of palm beach in particular) and they said they cannot do anything about it unless since there are no parts. I have paid for them to diagnose the issue but since they cannot recreate the issue (as it is intermittent) they cannot do anything. Question: what is the point of a recall if a vehicle experiencing the symptoms that lead to the recall cannot be repaired due to "part shortages"? 2) I want to talk specifically of the vehicle programming to cut engine power off. I think I have a separate electrical issue that causes all the lights on the dashboard to go off and again cut engine power. I understand that engineers may want to design their vehicles to cut power off when there is a potential mechanical failure, but in this case the issue is purely electrical. The fact that I can restart my car and accelerate normally shows that the issue is not mechanical. I believe this programming needs to be addressed. To be frank, losing engine power while driving on the highway may lead to catastrophic consequences. I feel that my vehicle is unsafe to drive since it has happened to me multiple times already.
