36 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2025

Rear camera is showing a blank screen. Gridlines are visible but that’s it. It’s hard to see to backup so I’m afraid of a collision. There are recalls on other Honda Accords but my VIN has not been included for this repair. No other warning lights are on.

37 Electrical System problem

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated the turn signal lights, the trunk, the lane departure, forward collision avoidance, and the lkas failed to be displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 20v771000 (electrical system, back over prevention, visibility/wiper, visibility, exterior lighting); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000.

40 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2025

Se mantienen encendidas las luces del tablero.

41 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2024

Intermittently flash warning lights on panel- all warnings at once. The vehicle maintenance log does not indicate the issues showing on the panel are relevant. It comes and goes, sometimes for weeks. Dealership has been unable to diagnose issue and the recall for similar issue - which has happened on other 2018 Honda Accords, not showing as related to my VIN# despite being the same problem as the recall notice.

42 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2024

Hi, I would like to address two issues separately for my 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t 6mt; one dealing with the open recall and one dealing with how the vehicle operates dangerously due to poor programming under specific operating conditions. To add, I speak as an engineer working in the automotive space specifically on the design of adas and av systems with iso26262 and sotif in mind. 1) there is an open recall for my vehicle for a fuel pump issue. I am experiencing some of the symptoms of this issue, specifically, my car will hesitate at around 4000 rpms during acceleration. I immediately back off the accelerator and then the check engine light flashes and I lose all engine power. I then restart my vehicle and it operates more or less normally with the occasional illumination of all the dash lights. I have taken my car to the dealership expressing my concerns (braman Honda of palm beach in particular) and they said they cannot do anything about it unless since there are no parts. I have paid for them to diagnose the issue but since they cannot recreate the issue (as it is intermittent) they cannot do anything. Question: what is the point of a recall if a vehicle experiencing the symptoms that lead to the recall cannot be repaired due to "part shortages"? 2) I want to talk specifically of the vehicle programming to cut engine power off. I think I have a separate electrical issue that causes all the lights on the dashboard to go off and again cut engine power. I understand that engineers may want to design their vehicles to cut power off when there is a potential mechanical failure, but in this case the issue is purely electrical. The fact that I can restart my car and accelerate normally shows that the issue is not mechanical. I believe this programming needs to be addressed. To be frank, losing engine power while driving on the highway may lead to catastrophic consequences. I feel that my vehicle is unsafe to drive since it has happened to me multiple times already.

43 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2024

Car has been throwing check engine light codes for different things for the past three years. First, the spark plugs needed to be replaced, then the electric coolant pump. After each repair, the check engine light came back on as soon as 4 days after but as late as a month after. Most recently, while driving on the highway the car check engine light came on and began flashing and the vehicle would not accelerate past 20mph. I took the closest exit and parked the car and had it towed to the closest Honda dealer where they informed me that there is an active recall and they are waiting for a call to see what they can do to help but that there is a head gasket issue as well as a fuel pump code. Previously when the check engine light came on and it took it to get checked I was told there was no code holding in the system.

44 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2024

During normal driving - clear weather conditions - the car will suddenly activate the forward collision braking. It will literally slam on the brakes and decrease the speed by 10-15 mph. This happened as I was going down the drive of our neighborhood, I was at 45 mph with no one in front of me or behind me (thankfully) and the car applied the brakes and activated the front collision warning. There is also an intermittent issue with my seatbelt. Specifically the drivers seat belt. I was witness to someone driving my car - he buckled his seat belt and it unlatched. He then buckled it again thinking he didn’t do it right - but it wouldn’t latch. This has happened to me before as well - but usually after the third try of buckling the seat belt it will work and so I thought nothing of it. Additionally, the windshield wipers do not go back to their original position after being in use.

45 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2024

I own a 2018 Honda Accord ex?l (VIN#: [xxx]). Shortly after a service visit to a Honda dealer for unrelated maintenance (in Sep. 2024 with an estimated 50,000 miles), the dashboard began showing ‘supplemental restraint system problem – see dealer’. A dealer quoted $400+ to diagnose and replace what appears to be a common passenger airbag indicator sensor failure, a known issue reported by many 2018 Accord owners. I believe Honda should issue a recall due to the safety risk. I’m filing this as a voq complaint for odi’s review and authorize NHTSA to share my identifying info with Honda if needed. Supporting documentation and numerous examples of complaints from hundreds of Honda Accord owners relating to this problem: - numerous drivers of 2018 Honda Accords have reported the identical warning (“supplemental restraint system problem – see dealer”) along with fault code b002013, intermittent dashboard behavior, and inability of dealers to resolve it consistently. - Honda’s 2024 campaign 24?050 identifies the seat weight sensor as directly causing srs warnings and passenger airbag indicator failure - demonstrating this component is known to fail and trigger airbag system alert behavior, even if not yet applied to 2018 model year. - independent coverage confirms the risk and design defect in seat sensors causing unintended srs failures, underscoring the safety risk and Honda’s formal acknowledgment of the issue in later models. - multiple complaints about post?service warning lights that match this scenario (electrical system category), and public news coverage stating Honda is recalling vehicles due to faulty passenger seat sensors that may cause airbag or srs failures. - 37 official complaints for the 2018 Accord, with no repair by dealer and failure left unresolved. One report (may 12, 2025) describes this exact issue saying the dashboard message randomly popped up and a "dealer wanted $250 diagnostic and $4,000 to repair. - my service quote attached. 46 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2024

Honda has yet to fix the fuel pump issue after issuing recall on the fuel pump over a year ago. I've been by the Honda dealership numerous times trying to get this recall fixed. Now I am having many issues with my car and I can't even drive it at this point. The Honda dealership told me that I have a cracked head which has caused may other issues. There is known issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t that Honda has to even acknowledge. There wasn't an accident thankfully quick thinking on my behalf. There are many issues that Honda had refused to acknowledge and as single woman living off one check and still paying for my car, recently fired because it's now hard for me to get to work because I do not make enough to uber to work and pay my monthly bill it's caused me many issues and lots of out-of-pocket expenses. Now as I am trying to find a remote job that I don't have to drive into I am desperately trying to not lose my house which is almost out of my control and will be homeless because of this known issue that Honda has known about and has yet to do anything about. I have loved my car and to the point I was thinking about trading in and getting a brand new one and would have been Honda fan the rest of my life this has ultimately ruined my life, and I am hating this decision to buy one from the get-go. This should be illegal, and Honda should be held responsible for fixing this issue which has cost me almost my whole life. The fuel pump has failed which either indirectly or directly has affected the head gasket, and every light is lite up on my dashboard and goes into limp mode when trying to go. The warnings that are up are the emissions, the electrical warning has been on for years and no could or can find out why. I've taken it into the Honda dealership & other repair shops trying to get this fixed, but no one can figure it out. I can accelerate to get up to speed and it tells me to not brake hard, on top of the other warnings this has caused to come.

47 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2024

Unknown vehicle continues to display all warning lights on continuous jumping when driving. It took over seven months to obtain parts and took 26 hours to complete service leaving me without a vehicle. The damage received on the vehicle while waiting on parts caused more problems. Replacing the part after seven months of driving has caused my vehicle to deteriorate beyond repair in my opinion. I am requesting compensation or the ability to have a full inspection beyond the initial recalled parts in order to confirm that my vehicle is in proper working condition.

48 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2024

The components and systems that are failing and malfunctioning in my 2018 Honda Accord are the engine, head gasket, fuel, injectors and turbo. While in motion, the car jerks and has issues with acceleration requiring the safety hazard lights to be come on and I’m unable to keep up with marked speed limit while traveling due to the sluggishness of the vehicle. The majority of these issues have been confirmed by a Honda dealership as well as another car shop. There are several warning and safety hazard lights that come on and go off the dashboard. Many times, I have to pull on the side of the road due to not being able to drive this vehicle.

49 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2024

All warning lights came on (check engine, emissions problem, brake problem, tire pressure monitoring system problem, cruise control problem, brake problem, steering wheel problem, and lane keeping assist problem). In addition, sometimes the vehicle will vibrate or shake when first turned on and at times, when braking, the car will shake or vibrate.

50 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2024

My locks failed and it took several repairs and they are still not working properly. I fear for my safety and the safety of my children. Honda told me sometimes locks just don’t work but that’s not appropriate to me as I paid the extended electric warranty but they cannot fix them. No knowing this will not go all through the life of my vehicle is a big issue.

51 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2024

The backup camera has discoloration, and it is permanent, not temporary.

52 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2024

Dashboard lights: emissions systems problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation bar along system problem, acc system problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist system problem, electric power steering system problem, brake hold system problem, brake system problem, tire pressure system problem- every single warning and light turn on when weather is less than ideal (high humidity, cold temp, etc. ). When taken to dealership they simply reset the system and all lights go away, but they always come back. Bought car in 2018, always been a problem, regardless of new battery. I take my car in for regular maintenance.

53 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2024

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the word “brakes” started flashing on the instrument panel, and the vehicle independently slowed down. No other warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated there were no other vehicles around to cause the failure. The contact called the dealer, and the contact was informed of a possible software glitch; however, there was no remedy for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

54 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2024

While riding down the interstate the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes. There was a semi truck in the lane beside me and for some reason it just applied the brakes and flashed the automatic brake warning sign while using the cruise control. I quickly hit the cancel button on the steering wheel to stop the braking. My lane was completely clear when this occurred. This is not the first time that this has happened. The last time this happened there was no one close to me and the same thing happened.

55 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2024

Warning lights come all across the dash stating to see the dealer. I have taken it to the dealership and the issue is the fuel injector that causes the warning lights to go off and on at random. I still have a warranty of my car and was told the warranty does not cover that part. This is happening to a lot of Honda Accords but there is no recall for it. There is a safety issue for driving because they stay on and then go off and come back on again. This is unfortunate and unacceptable from Honda as a whole. I bought the car in may 2024 and the warning lights came on a week later and have been ever since off and on.

56 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2024

I’ve owned this car for almost 6 years now and one day out of nowhere all warning lights on this car came on and the car can barely drive up to 10 mph. The car won’t go past 10 mph. Engine light, cruise control and every single warning light were showing on the dashboard. I ended up paying huge amount to get it fix and on top of that I was not able to go to work.

57 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/10/2024

Approx. One year ago, my 2018 Honda Accord lx completely shut down while traveling at 35 mph. The engine light was flashing and I lost all power with only enough to pull over safely on the side of the road, I was terrified and called aaa who came and towed it to a local mechanic. At the time I was unaware of the recall. My mechanic did diagnostic test and found nothing. He explained the car went into "limp mode", indicating there was something wrong. The car started fine and I took it to our local Honda dealer for service. They had the car for 3 days, finding no issues, but explained it could be related to the recall. I was told the parts for the recall were unavailable and I would be notified when they came in. This week it happened again! I just contacted the dealer for status on the parts and was told I am 160 on a waiting list for the recalled parts and that they were sporadically coming in. I am afraid to drive the car, uncertain if this will happen again at a high rate of speed. I am a retired senior with limited income and need this resolved ASAP. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

58 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2024

Bought the vehicle in 2022 with 90k miles on it. Started experience engine issues shortly after. Engine light and all the dash lights came on. Changed spark plugs 4x and coils replaced fuel injectors over the years. Still the lights and engine light comes on. Turns out I have a blown head gasket at just 130k miles. Did routine maintenance on it and changed water pump . I’ve never had this many issues with a car and I’m quiete upset. The years of head ache is never ending.

59 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2024

The lights on my dashboard keep turning on. I have informed the dealership that my vehicle has a recall but they say that is not the issue. I informed them they have to fix it because of the recall and they said my pump is fine. That it’s the injectors.

60 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2024

Instrument cluster lights up with the following warnings: road departure mitigation, brake system, vehicle stability assist, acc, collision mitigation, emission system problem, electric power steering, hill assist, brake system hold. Obd2 codes are: po301,po301. Dealer diagnosed problem and solution replace fuel injectors. Car with 50,000 miles run fine. Idiot lights are out of control.

61 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

Engine stall while driving, and blown engine gasket.

62 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

My car is having the same issue as the new recall on the 2023-2025 Honda pilot sport utility vehicles (suvs), 2022-2025 Acura mdx type-s suvs and 2021-2025 with the power loss and my car is stalling. Sometimes when I turn my car on, put it in drive, impress my gas pedal it will not go. I have to cut my car off, wait for about 30 seconds, restart it and then it will go. I took my car to Honda in tifton GA and I was told that it was my fuel injector. I was given code p0301 from langdale Honda in valdosta GA. I was quoted $1600 to fix this issue which I do not have. I’m currently having this issue and I’m sure it’s many others.

63 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2024

Vehicle stalls upon start on multiple occasions. Vehicle will not start at all on multiple occasions. On approximately February 2024 vehicle sent a warning signal while driving. Warning states vehicle cannot accelerate while driving on the highway, then vehicle slows under traffic speed causing fear of crash while on the highway causing me to pull over and restart vehicle. After restart, vehicle stalled again. Children were present in the vehicle. Called dealer to inform about the issue and was made aware of recall on fuel pump. Dealer does not have parts and will not have parts for recall for months. Called dealers near me periodically over the course of months. All local dealers reported parts will not be available for ongoing months.

64 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

Forward collision warning feature on 02/16/24 I was traveling east on I-630 at about 60 mph. While driving at that speed I saw a foreign object in my lane but I could not swerve in neither right or left lane as there were vehicles traveling in both lanes when my car hit the foreign object the object became lodged under the car dragging it at least 20 to 30 feet the car lost power myself and passenger had to push car out of road to shoulder to keep from getting killed as it had lost power and would not start. The forward collision warning feature did not alert me of the object nor of the vehicle’s traveling ahead of me nor vehicles traveling in left and right lanes along side of me that I attempted to avoid hitting. I had previously filed a complaint about the warning lights and malfunctioning features on the car to dealership on 2019 2020 and 2021 I was told it could be a series of reasons why the warning lights are all on and the car features shut down even the car losing its power I was never able to get my car on the recall list for this I filed a complaint with Honda manufacturer 2022 and was told that someone would be in touch but no one ever called I took the car back to dealership tech stated that the cracked windshield maybe the cause of the warning lights coming on so I got windshield , spark plugs, battery twice, replaced all for tires twice kept scheduled services up to par warning lights still on in-car still losing power in the middle of traffic on 01/20/24 I tried getting appt for fuel pump recall dealerships states they donot have the inventory to replace fuel pump I was told when Honda manufacturer contact dealerships giving the go ahead to repair I will l be contacted fast forward to 02/16/24 this is the result of none of features functioning especially the forward collision warning feature my car now is at a loss of use it does not start the oil panel was damaged the radiator was crushed the sensor dislodged and body was damage to vehicle.

65 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2024

On February 16th, I visited walsh Honda in macon, georgia, reporting issues with my fuel and car not pulling and acting irregularly. Suspecting bad fuel, I was informed of a safety recall for the fuel pump, which was likely the problem. However, they changed the spark plug instead, charged me for it, and did not address the recall, which has been in place since 2023. They also noted a p303 misfire. The following day, February 17th, I returned for a 100,000-mile check. I spent over $600 on services, including replacing the belt alternator, flushing and draining the coolant, and turning the rotors. On March 18, 2024, the same p303 misfire code appeared. This time walsh Honda claimed the engine cylinder was cracked and scarred, suggesting a $7,000 engine replacement, despite the fuel pump recall. They insisted on the engine repair instead of addressing the fuel pump recall. In April, I was involved in a rear-end collision and, as a had my car at five star collision in warner robins for two months. I got the car back on may 31st, but it continued to act erratically, running hot and not pulling properly. In July 2024, I took the car to hughes Honda in warner robins, georgia who refused to fix the fuel pump despite the recall, I was told that, that is not the code for a new engine pump. That I would need to pay $6000 for the codes that was put in initially by walsh in macon, GA. Citing the need for head gaskets and injectors. They demanded this repair before addressing the fuel pump recall. This pattern of ignoring the fuel pump recall and pushing expensive repairs is troubling and seems to prioritize profit over safety. This is how the common man and woman get screwed by doing the right thing. Being that I am 100% disabled veteran I am very disappointed with treatment I received from both Honda dealerships. I wish for not another veteran, man or woman go through the disrespect I received.

66 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2024

The vehicle is having intermittent issues with the driver side door lock. The door does not always lock or unlock as it should causing the need to open another door in order to manually lock or unlock the car to enter it.

67 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2024

There are 10 warning lights currently on the dash. This is and has been an ongoing issue for over a year. Turning off the car then turning it back on the lights would go away. The car would periodically start to slow on its own while foot was still on the gas pedal which was dangerous in the middle of traffic or going 65 to 70 miles per hour on a highway. December 31, 2024 my car got towed to the Honda dealership because the car stalled and wouldn't go past 15 miles per hour. Again the dash lit up. It was my understanding that it was because of the latest recall of the fuel pump issue that took over a year to be completed. The recall of the fuel pump was done January 6, 2025which took a week to complete and a week of work I missed with no available loaner car available to me. Once I got the car back the lights were not on the dash anymore but within 5 minutes of driving the car the lights came back on but the car did not stall and was able to go past the 15 miles per hour that was the original problem. Since January 2025 I have been dealing with these warning indicator lights and being the lights were on when Honda received the car to perform the recall I would assume a diagnosis would have been done but once I got the receipt there was no other issues recorded that was wrong with the car. There are absolutely too many Honda Accords with this problem. I've read everything from moisture in the tail lights triggering the lights, faulty battery, head gaskets, injectors to spark plugs. My car is no longer under a warranty and I have no means of paying for a guessing game when it comes to diagnosing the real problem with these cars. People are paying $5000 sometimes more and still having the same problem once they drive away. I honestly think a recall on this issue need to happen before something tragic happens. Maybe because it took over a year for Honda to get parts in to fix the recall fuel pump issue this is an exact result of going so long with the faulty fuel pump.

68 Electrical System problem

70 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2023

The 2018 Honda Accord hybrids suffer from a critical electrical design flaw which has left me stranded in dangerous positions on the roadside multiple times. In a normal gasoline powered vehicle, when the ignition is on, the engine is running and the alternator is generating current to charge the battery and keep it in good health. However, with Honda's hybrid system, even with the ignition on the engine does not engage and as a result it does not keep the battery at a healthy charge. Honda could easily detect high current draw on the 12v electrical system (like a tire inflator e. G. ) and start the gasoline motor when needed, but they have chosen not to do so letting the vehicle's battery drain to a dangerously low level which has other adverse effects on the car's safety systems. Lkas and tpms systems have reported erroneous messages when this condition occurs. If there were a way to ensure the gasoline motor stayed on for roadside service tasks that would solve this issue, but currently in all modes the engine will shut off after running for a time, allowing the battery to be drained and damaged.
