I started driving this vehicle and all of a sudden it started slowing down, and would not go up to speed. I had it fixed, the car started skipping, making a jerking movement while driving. I made an appointment with tameron Honda of birmingham on 3/26/26. As soon as I pulled up to Honda dealership the engine light was on. The company was trying to bill me 6100 dollars for fixing the car. I do not have that amount on hand and I need my car. I had to drive my car away from the dealership while it was in idle mode state into traffic the car moved so slowly that I could have wrecked. The dealership did not do their due diligence by going off of the VIN number and making sure that the customer is safe with their brand. I was told that they did a full inspection at the dealership. I have been scared to drive this vehicle since the issue keeps happening.
Head gasket failed at 58k miles without overheating per assessment at Honda dealership. Safety was affected by going into limp mode instantly turning left onto 55 mph 4 lane road, no warning lights prior going into limp mode. Brief misfire occurred prior to incident, (did not know at time because it did not seem significant and no warning light). Dealer reports multiple 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5l head gasket and fuel injector failures. Unknown if manufacture would inspect. In addition fuel injector has completely failed and requires replacement per Honda dealership assessment, this occurred after dealership repaired head gasket. Waiting for final repair invoice, can and will provide upon request.
I was driving and all the lights on the dash board came on. Including the engine light. I took the vehicle to the dealership service center and they said the turbo function of my engine was failing. And it was still covered under warranty so they fixed that. One day after the picking it up all the lights came back on. I took it back and they stated that the fuel injectors are failing thus causing engine misfires resulting in the engine light coming back on and the car randomly stalling or slowing. They indicated that the fuel injectors are not covered and repairs are around 2,400. 00, I believe this should be covered because there was a previous recall on the fuel on the fuel pump (which is connected to the injectors). Also I don't understand how the "turbo" was still covered under warranty but the injectors are not. Upon doing my research this is a known problem on this make and model and Honda should correct the known defect.
The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Accord failed even though the vehicle had previously been repaired under a recall for the same issue. While driving, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the check engine light and other system warnings. The vehicle began running rough and lost power, creating a dangerous driving condition, especially in traffic. This is the second occurrence of fuel system failure despite the recall repair being completed. The recurrence of this issue raises serious safety concerns, as sudden power loss or engine malfunction while driving increases the risk of an accident. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to the risk of stalling or loss of power. The problem appears to be related to the high-pressure fuel pump system that was previously addressed under recall.
I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord sport brand new from the dealership, relying on Honda’s longstanding reputation for reliability and longevity. At approximately 120,000 miles, the vehicle suffered a blown head gasket during normal driving conditions. The vehicle has been properly maintained According to Honda’s recommended schedule. I have already opened a claim with Honda corporate regarding this issue and am currently awaiting their response. Despite proper maintenance, this catastrophic engine failure occurred, suggesting a design or manufacturing defect rather than misuse. This issue presents both a safety concern and a substantial financial burden, as I am a single mother of four who depends on this vehicle for daily transportation. Based on reports from other owners, this appears to be a widespread defect affecting 10th-generation Honda Accords with the 1. 5l turbo engine, which I respectfully request NHTSA investigate.
A 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t developed an engine misfire, coolant loss, and reduced acceleration shortly after purchase from a dealership on 01/07/2026 (around 156,000 miles / $15,000). On 01/23/2026, during a Honda dealer inspection at about 157,255 miles, the technician noted misfires on startup, found the coolant overflow reservoir empty, pressure-tested the system, and confirmed coolant leaking into cylinders 3 and 4 from the head gasket. The dealer recommended head gasket replacement plus spark plugs, drive belt, and valve adjustment. I was told that continued driving could worsen the condition, leading to overheating and further engine damage. After that diagnosis, the vehicle’s drivability worsened, and it became unsafe to rely on due to misfires and loss of acceleration, especially on the highway. The selling dealership refused to assist, claiming the defect was not present at the time of sale; Honda America acknowledged the head gasket concern but denied a goodwill claim, citing the high cost of the issue and lack of NHTSA enforcement on this issue. An independent repair shop then provided a second inspection/estimate consistent with the same head-gasket repair scope. The vehicle and repair records are available for inspection. No crash or injury occurred, but the defect caused a sudden loss of power and overheating while driving; I was stuck on the highway on two occasions with my hazard lights on after acceleration completely halted. Warning symptoms (the engine light) only appeared when the car suddenly stopped accelerating. Two days after an around-$5,000 headgasket repair, drivability problems and multiple dashboard warnings appeared, including turbo-related concerns; this concern is ongoing.
There are many warming lamps on in the car. My car won't pick up speed it in limp mode once I crank up. I have to turn it off and restart any order for it to go and pick up speed. My number 3 plug keep showing something wrong it has been replaced multiple times but still having the same issue. I had it checked out it's saying the same problem fuel. I have had my fuel pump change and still having problems. 2018 are bad models for Honda and there should be multiple recalls because everyone having the same problems. Head gaskets, fuel injection, turbo problems as well as fuel pump.
Sacramento CA , car stopped in the middle of the highway couldn’t accelerate, won’t let me advance past 20 mph gas fuel was changed earlier in 2025 but I’m sure it’s the fuel injectors.
In 2023, the car had a rough start during cold weather. Honda confirmed there was a service bulletin and told me my fuel injectors were likely failing. It’s a known issue. For 2 winters, I used sea foam to manage the problem. This winter, the dash completely lit up. I returned to Honda for an update to new version of the same service bulletin. They did the fix but it did not solve the problem. Tonight my car went into limp home mode and had to be towed to the mechanic for the fuel injector repair. We were on nc interstate 540 when the car rapidly lost acceleration and luckily made it to a gas station for safe pick up. Me, my passenger and other drivers were all endangered the 3 times I had to pull over to stop and restart the car.
Fuel pump is bad causing the car not to start.
Full pump engine.
The vehicle is misfiring due to faulty fuel injectors. Causing every light on the dash to come on.
After vehicle got serviced an open recall for fuel pump, my car has been having issues. I know is related to the head gasket/fuel injections. My car has been great, monthly maintenance service up until I got that recall fixed. I now regret it getting repaired, but I had to, to be able to receive my dmv tags. I was driving about 45 mph and vehicle stopped accelerating will not speed over 20 mph and the check engine light turned on. Just got full transmission flush and oil change and this happened. I read many article online that this happens after this recall repair to the Accord 1. 5t ex2018.
Emissions and engine light turned on which caused enginue to lose power and stall. Took car to dealership for diagnosis, and two codes related to failed fuel injectors and failed turbocharger. Tech said it is a known failure with this vehicle model, especially with the Honda turbo engine, so much so the warranty was increased from 100,000 miles to 150,000. Unfortunately my car was 15,000 miles over warranty and will be a costly bill. Online research yielded that tech was right, it is a known failure issue with this model but I missed the warranty extension. If this is a known issue by the manufacturer, should this not he a recall issue?.
At just under 60,000 miles, the check engine light came on with 10 warnings all at once when the car was started. When I took it to Honda they said that 2 of the cylinders are misfiring and the fuel injectors need to be replaced. These are failing far too early on this model of vehicle and it is likely due to the recalled fuel injector that they took years to replace due to inventory. There should be a recall for the fuel injectors.
My dashboard lite up like a christmas tree. I took my car to Honda dealership. They put it on the diagnostic machine. A blown head gasket, Honda quoted me a repair price of $4400.
Several system warnings. Dealership diagnostic "bad fuel injectors" vehicle has 62,735 miles.
Engine knock caused by oil dilution which is known manufacturing issues with my model of car.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord sport 1. 5 the issue started after getting my fuel pump replaced as part of the recall. While driving, all of the dashboard lights came on. Warning messages kept flashing on the dash. This car was driving perfectly fine before the fuel pump was replaced. When the codes are cleared, the car drives perfectly fine. The dashboard lights will periodically turn off but ultimately come back on and as a result, the car goes into limp mode. Coils, sparkplugs, breakers have been switched out and oil levels have been checked. When the car is scanned, the codes are reading a misfire with the coils but, the coils that are allegedly misfiring were just replaced. The car jerks while attempting to accelerate, and after a few miles, it goes into limp mode. I have tried every type of repair that has been suggested to me by the mechanic but the issues persist.
Car has lost power or gone into "limp mode" while driving on multiple occasions. Car was never listed under the fuel pump recall but had all associated symptoms & problems. Had to have fuel pumps replaced in December 2023 due to car not starting because of faulty fuel pumps. Car has been properly maintenced since purchased brand new in February 2018. Currently around 121,000 miles. Car overheated this past summer, coolant seems to be leaking somewhere as just filled with coolant month ago and needed to refill with about quarter to refill to correct amount. Oil also seems to be having slow leakage problem somewhere within the engine as there is excessive oil on drip pan. Had all 4 spark plugs changed in March of 2025. Car has been going into limp mode and looses power for few seconds to minutes sometimes, almost causing multiple accidents while driving on highways. Pull over to shut off and give few minutes to restart and able to resume driving no warnings before this occurs. Randomly all dashboard lights light up 2 weeks ago and put car into limp mode, was driving on highway at high rate of speed (65mph) safety was compromised several times while this occurs. Engine seems create knocking sounds to known due to oil dilution problem. Cold weather seems to affect issues to onset more often. Also been having stalled or rough start ups in colder weather or when engine is not warmed up. Researching these issues seems to be that 2018 Honda Accords had known head gasket failure. This should become a class action lawsuit and also a recall.
The problem I am having with my vehicle Honda Accord 2018 is with the head gasket. I was on the highway and as I was driving suddenly all the signs came on the display and gave a warning that my vehicle is overheating and it came down to 20mph while I was on the highway. This was very risky to me and the other vehicle around me.
Unknown.
My car lost power while driving on multiple occasions. My car was originally on the fuel pump recall list but the dealership did not have the part for 6+ months. When the part did come in I found out my car was no longer on the recall list. I had to have my fuel pump injectors replaced due to a faulty fuel pump.
I own a 2018 Honda Accord that was subject to a fuel pump recall. The dealership replaced the fuel pump in July 2025 as part of the recall. Shortly after the replacement, all dashboard warning lights illuminated. I took the vehicle in for diagnostic inspection and was informed that the fuel injector and head gasket had failed. The estimated cost of repairs is $5369. 69. I believe these failures may be related to the fuel system recall or indicate a broader defect in the vehicle’s engine or fuel components. I am deeply concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially since these issues arose immediately after the recall repair. I am currently unable to afford the repair, and I fear the vehicle may pose a risk to myself and others on the road. This situation has caused me significant stress and anxiety. The unexpected financial burden has disrupted my personal and professional life, and I feel unsafe driving a vehicle that may have underlying defects. I am frustrated that a recall repair may have led to even more severe mechanical issues, and I am left without clear support or resolution. I had no choice but to pay for the repairs out of pocket, despite the financial strain. I am seeking guidance on how this cost might be recovered—whether through manufacturer assistance, warranty extension, or further recall action. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this issue is connected to the existing recall or represents a wider safety defect affecting other vehicles of the same make and model.
I had to have $6400. 00 worth of repairs (2018 Honda Accord sport ) due to stalling & engine light came on and then it wouldn't go-due to the head gasket not being recalled and since they had the engine out, I also had to have other repairs they said were necessary plus car rental on top of that. . . I had only made my 2 car pymts when this happened!.
Driving on highway, check engine light went on and car lost all power would not go over 5 mph scared for my life as I was almost hit by other vehicles traveling at hi rates of speed . I managed to get the car to the shoulder. I turned the car off and restarted, and the car went back to operating normal. Car was checked by a friend who is a mechanic, and he told me there were codes for misfires after checking all the issues that could cause that type of problem he informed me that a pressure test on the coolant system revealed a blown head gasket which allowed coolant to leak in the cylinders causing miss fires due to the anti freeze extinguishing the spark of the spark plugs. I researched this matter and it's see to be a very common problem with many Hondas with the 1. 5 engine.
Coolant leaking into head gasket which now needs to be replaced as it’s causing the whole car to shudder when acclerating and when not letting off the gas the check engine light will come on and the car will not drive anymore. It then needs to be turned off and on again to go away and won’t fix the issue with the studdering.
After having fuel pump replaced by recall at random times dashboard will light up with all system lights, car will go into limp mode and loose power for a few seconds and then I am able to resume driving. Extremely scary as there is no warning. This has happened both on the freeway at high rates of speed and on neighborhood roadways. Safety has been compromised several times and Honda dealer is not able to reproduce the issue, retrieve any warning codes or offer any assistance. This has randomly been occurring for several months. When not having this exact issue car runs with no other issues.
After I took my car in for a fuel pump recall, it caused one of my injectors to be bad which will be 3000 dollars fix out of my pocket. This happened a few months after I took my car to the dealership, and it was doing fine before taken to the dealership for the recall. There are many other owners who reported they experienced the same thing, with all the dash lights came on but couldn’t find the exact cause until they replace their fuel injectors. First, all the alarms appeared, even the engine light was on but they would all go away after a few days. It had been on and off randomly for the past 4 months. The car is still driving fine but the alarms will pop up and stay for a few weeks to a month. It would randomly not letting me accelerate and slow me down, which if I was driving on the highway all the way in the left with traffic, that would cause a traffic jam and eventually an accident with other drivers.
When it is cold outside my acc light comes on and when I started my car the other day it read emissons service problem avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. That was just 1 among 7 other service warning that popped up.
This car is known for its faulty engine. The head gasket tends to blow as early as 40k miles, plenty of people have had this problem and yet there is no recall for the engine or a fix. I was driving on the highway and I was speeding up to merge into traffic and my check engine light started to flash and my car went into limp mode on the highway luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic and I got the chance to pull over and restart my car. I looked online and plenty of people were experiencing this same problem they all had the same answer as well, a blown head gasket. I'm just wondering if someone has to pass away before this gets fixed.
My 2018 Honda Accord ex is currently having fuel injector problems at 41,000 miles. Honda is trying to tell me that fuel injectors do not get affected by the recalled fuel pump. This is very silly because the fuel pump and fuel injectors work together. They want $1,800 to replace the fuel injectors at Honda. I already completed the recall on the fuel pump, and afterward, they told me my injector was running too rich and needed to be replaced for $1800. There are so many Honda 1. 5ts experiencing these same issues, and Honda does not want to do anything about it. I am currently taking my car to a local shop to get the fuel injectors replaced for $1,327. I believe I should be reimbursed since the fuel pump is what caused my fuel injectors to fail. Honda is trying to tell me that two fuel components of a car don’t correlate with each other? this isn’t fair, and I need to be reimbursed.
Head gasket leak after replacing recalled fuel pump. Took my car in for safety recall on fuel pump, just 24 hrs later every check engine light came on and my vehicle slowed to a stop (car went into limp mode). This happened on a busy street with vehicles flying by. I had my vehicle towed to lancaster Honday (CA) where they did my safety recall the day before, they confirmed the head gasket leak. I had my vehicle diagnostics done at a different place as well and they confirmed the bad news, but also said this should not be happening to a new car with 66,000 miles. They advised I call corporate Honda and have them do a goodwill repair where the pay the repair since it is out of its 60,000 miles warranty. I had zero symptoms of this happening before it actually happened. I regularly had maintenance done on my car. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed that Honda just declined my goodwill repair after a month of waiting on them to “review the case”. I couldn’t be more sad and more screwed at this time. $5000 is not something I have right now to take care of something I shouldn’t have to. This is only happening to 1. 5 liter Hondas in my certain year range. I wanted a 2. 0 originally, but the dealership did not have any at the time so I am needing help. I will reach out to the ongoing pending lemon law case in CA to join the base and try to get my car fixed and have Honda do the right thing! I am not happy!.
Check engine lights turned on and turned off all advance features on car because of a faulty fuel injector which is the stock fuel injectors that were designed by Honda.
While trying to accelerate the car loses power. This has happened many times. The Honda dealership has said the system is on back order and they will call me when it’s available. It’s been months. The “jerks”a few times then the check engine light comes on then the car loses power. The dashboard lights are brake system, emission system, electric power steering, hill assist and acc system problem.
