Collision mitigation braking system error reported on the car it says to take to the dealer for service also says that adaptive cruise could be affected also. I read that many other owners are reporting this issue.
I would like to add a comment on the "phantom braking" as I have experienced it with my car several times. I am glad to see a formal investigation has been launched. I think a way to try and replicate this issue is to attempt to pass another vehicle (that is in the adjacent lane) but ensuring you are doing this on a curved road way. . . . At some point the Accord gets "confused" when it looks liked it is "lined up" behind the other vehicle in the adjacent lane. It is real. . Please find a solution and bring this to a resolution. Feel free to contact me for further explanation. I cannot recall the exact date this incident has happened to me; hence I am putting in today's date.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 45 mph with an activated cruise control, the vehicle independently came to a complete stop as a brake warning light flashed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the contact was hit from behind by another vehicle. The airbags did not deploy upon impact. The contact suffered whiplash as a result of the crash; however, no medical attention was given at the scene. The contact spoke with a doctor and received a prescription for her neck pain. A police report was filed at the scene. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home from the scene but later had the vehicle towed to an independent body shop. The contact notified the manufacturer about the failure; the manufacturer denied that the failure was caused by a mechanical failure and believed the failure was caused by a driver error. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
