We were driving on I 75 southbound just north of knoxville. We were in high speed lane going 60 mph (adaptive cruise control and front collision mitigation systems were on). We were on cruise, and had been for many miles. Our cars adaptive system had slowed us to 60 mph due to traffic, and again this had been for several miles. The cars braking system suddenly brought the car to a stop. I swerved to left to get in median and floored the gas peddle to get out of the way of traffic behind me but nothing worked. The car came to a complete stop in seconds. Again in high traffic in the fast lane of interstate. It was a clear, beautiful day. Luckily the 3 vehicles behind me were able to swerve and brake in order not to hit us. If it had been a semi behind us…. We would not have had a chance.
The automatic braking system will deploy without anything in the road, especially going over one particular hill. Now the car will not start and says there’s an electronic braking system failure.
07/28/2023 - car showed many brake system errors: electric parking brake, vehicle stability, adaptive cruise control, etc. Took to heritage Honda, bel air, MD, and got error code diagnosis of pi20-00, brake system/pedal simulator failure. Heritage "reflashed" pedal simulator and cleared code. Told ok to drive but if brake system errors showed up again, pull over to side of road and have car towed. Drove 20+ miles home. 07/29/2023 - car again showed brake system errors as on 07/28. Husband and I drove car around our development and there were no brakes, even after husband pumping and pushing down on brake pedal very hard. 07/31/2023 - flat bed towed car to martin Honda, newark, DE and got same error code. Paid to replace brake pedal simulator, pn 01469-twa-a56. Issue is that brake system did not fail safely, because failure of pedal simulator left me with no brakes. Requested Honda pay entire martin Honda invoice but Honda paid $1400 of repair. Have since requested that Honda pay remaining $1000 that I paid, plus diagnostic fee for heritage Honda, and towing charge.
When I was driving down the road with no cars or no object in the road at all the emergency brake system came on (slamming brakes on) I had seat belt on and it still threw me forward a good bit until seat belt caught. A car behind me thankfully was able to brake and not hit me. This has not been reported it the dealership. The emergency brake light did come on and flash as the car braked its self. I have had the emergency brake light come on many times over the 3 years I have had it(starting from the beginning of ownership) but this is the first time it actually braked the car. The light come on frequently and never is anything in front of me.
Lf diver side belt loosens up and has had a rattling noise . The braking system has happened 4 times one almost causing an accident behind me for randomly braking . And suspension has caused me two sets of tires in one year and 3 alignments.
It happens way too often, but my automatic emergency braking will brake randomly. Several times I’ve almost been hit by a car behind or in front of me. I also notice when the sun hits the vehicle in front of me just right it will do my automatic braking even when I am not close to the vehicle.
Emergency braking did not engage when coming up to a stopped car. Nor any of the warning lights or warning sound came on.
Car breaks unexpectedly while driving . It’s will break on its own 3-4 times in a row. I was able to avoid 3 accidents due to the cars around me giving me space . I will take the car in to be inspected.
Radio fails to start when turn the vehicle on. If the radio does start it will shut off while driving. When this happens the forward collision alert fails.
I started my car this morning and I got a message saying supplemental passenger error contact the dealer. Also, this car once a week will brake like if another car is in front of me on a busy highway I travel going home from work. This will cause someone to have a heartache especially when there is a big rig coming at speed behind you. Please look into these problems!.
Braked auromatically on highway at 65mph due to flying bag in front of car. Very dangerous! thank god no one was behind us.
I have had several times where the "brake" alert comes on the dash and the car brakes and will not excel. Note. . This happens when there is absolutely nothing in front of me. This is apparently a common issue as I am seeing that many people have reported this. I have reached out to my dealer with this however, because it does it when it wants to and not all the time, they have not been able to see it happen or know why.
Travelling at approximately 47 mph, with nothing in front of me, the car's emergency braking system engaged completely unexpectedly, slamming my car to a stop. This caused a pick-up truck, to hit me from behind. The emergency brake light appeared at the exact same time as the car's emergency brakes applied. The driver of the other car confirmed there was nothing in front of me. The Honda dealer where I brought the car the next day stated there was nothing wrong with the camera or radar system. This failure caused an accident, and could have been much worse.
Noticed there is already an investigation open. My car is literally afraid of shadows and other objects that just aren't there. It will slam on the brakes as it detects that there is an impending crash despite any cars near me. It has almost caused 3 accidents with the cars behind me. I took it to my local Honda dealership and they told me nothing was wrong with my car and everything was fine.
I saw that this is already under investigation by NHTSA and want to add my name to the list. The car randomly brakes at times for no reason which I find extremely dangerous. It's never caused an accident for me, but I've had at least a dozen near misses of being rear-ended. I've tried to turn off the automatic braking but it still randomly slams on the brakes by itself. This system needs to be disabled as it's just a ticking time bomb. Your form won't let me answer the questions so I'll do it here: date: always speed: any speed mileage: since I purchased the car new.
I have 2019 Honda collision mitigation braking system problems, other driver-assist technologies with 2019 Honda Accord vehicles also routinely issue false safety alerts. Honda sensing technologies include road departure mitigation system (rdm), adaptive cruise control (acc), lane keeping assist system (lkas), and traffic sign recognition (tsr) all issues my 2019 has . The dealer states it’s multi purpose camera module is at fault needs expensive replacement and labor in excess of $ 1800.
2019 Honda Accord lx I purchased this car late September in 2022 from mclarty Honda in little rock, ar with less than 25,000 miles. To date the brakes have locked up multiple times on my way to work for no reason whatsoever and I have a witness to every time. I would be driving down hwy46 headed to sheridan, ar and the brakes would engage for no reason and completely stop my car in the middle of the road. Nothing would be in the road for it to sense/detect or whatever to even need to apply the brakes. I recorded a video of the brakes smoking like my car was on fire just yesterday morning when I got to work. I’ve called the dealership multiple times and they have no response or reason for why my car is doing this, I have even scheduled it to be repaired two times and the dealership hasn’t been able to fix the problem and it pisses me off they are even able to sell such a piece of shit vehicle. The dealership along with Honda should be held accountable, apparently they have known about this issue since 2015 and yet to do anything to correct the issue just swept it under the rug and left the consumer to deal with their problems. Whats even worse is congress has made it a law that new vehicles are required to have this worthless piece of technology installed on each vehicle, smh like they have any clue what the american people want or need lol and why is it taking so long for nhsta to get a response from Honda? this is ridiculous and the people who are in charge need to get off their butt and get something done for the people instead of their pocketbook. Real talk.
Driving my 2019 Honda Accord on major interstate at night when car suddenly brakes hard at 75 mph with no other vehicles or oblects around. The car's aeb/cmbs systems were on at the time of the hard breaking which occured twice with 3 minutes of each other. I was fortuanate no vehicles were behind us because we could have been seriously rear ended. I have contacted and notified the incident to the Honda dealership I bought the car from, but no response yet within 5 hours since I called them. No issues with the car prior to the incident.
For the past 3 years my car has started breaking on it’s own when there is no reason to. There are no cars or anything in front of me. It has been doing the breaking on it’s own more often and now is worrying me more. It once breaked me when I was on the interstate going 75! and other times when I’m in heavy traffic. I need something to be done about this. I don’t want to have my kids with me when this happens again and it causes an accident. . I don’t need my car to cause an accident at all. Please let me know what will be done about this problem with my car. I can’t afford shop fees to get my car looked at. I am asking if this problem can please be fixed. Thank you. Have a good day.
The automatic braking system malfunctioned and started to brake for no reason, with no car in front and/or no other safety risk. Luckily there was no car behind me which most likely would have resulted in a rear end collision; which put myself and other at risk. The warning lamp on my dash was flashing brake as the vehicle was braking. I am afraid to drive the car due to safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while her husband driving at 45 mph, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.
For wheels tpms system warning keeps turning on stating I have low tire pressure. I would check tire pressure and it is normal 33-34psi which is the recommended tire pressure by Honda. I would recalibrate the tpms and it would turn back on after driving 20 miles. I do this daily and Honda dealers claim there is no issue. When I turn on a curving road if there are cars parked on the street the emergency brake system would turn on and start braking.
While driving at 70 mph on freeway, driver experienced a sudden loss of power/rapid deceleration with no throttle response and no acceleration. Vehicle drivetrain seemed to be disengaged. Tcm gauge control error indicated on dash, also indicated on dash: acc adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation breaking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the forward collision avoidance automatic emergency braking function inadvertently activated; however, there was no other vehicles around. The abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not yet taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer for diagnosis or repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes warning light was flashing on the instrument panel before the vehicle independently stopped abruptly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.
There have been two incidents where my 2019 Honda Accord braked extremely hard and it was out of my control. The first incident was while I was exiting a highway on a rainy night at approximately 30mph, I had cars behind me that had to brake extremely hard due to my braking system which could have caused a rear end collision. The second incident was while I was driving approximately 50mph on a small two lane highway, I had other cars behind that had to swerve to avoid a collision once again. My car also detects many crack repairs on the highway as lane lines and attempts to depart the actual lane. I have to force the steering wheel to stay in the accurate lane. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe driving my own car.
Aeb was applied three times without need since I have owned the car (purchased used in may 2022). All three times were not warranted and I was nearly rear ended once. First time occurred while merging onto a highway. The aeb system appeared to confuse the concrete dividing wall (which ends at the merge point) and braked unexpectedly. I was nearly rear ended. Second instance occurred while traveling at highway speed on a two lane freeway. I was in the left lane and a vehicle in the right lane began to slowly approach the dividing line (never crossed) and the aeb system activated. Third instance occurred when changing lanes on a two lane highway (right lane to left lane). Car braked suddenly for no reason. It appeared to confuse a large black patch (fresh road repair) in the middle of the road with an obstruction. No other cars were present.
As I am driving over 50 mph in traffic my 2019 Honda Accord will automatically brake in the middle of traaffic almost causing accidents. The mitigation system will fail and prompt on the cluster electric parking brake problem, electrical power steering problem, rdm problem, cmbs problem, adaptive cruise control problem this so called safety features are being a safety problem.
I purchased a 2019 certified pre-owned Honda Accord touring hybrid in February, 2022. This was the second Honda Accord touring hybrid I've owned, so I was already very familiar with this vehicle. Over the next couple months, I started experiencing some odd things - the lkas and lane departure systems weren't operating correctly consistently. For example, the steering wheel would start shaking and warning lights pop up on my dash, and the steering wheel is pulling to one direction thinking I'm veering into another lane when I'm not. This was concerning, but at the time the infotainment system was crashing regularly and that was more concerning. In addition, the automatic emergency braking also seemed to be off, engaging at times when there wasn't a vehicle in front of me. In may, 2022 I was driving on the highway with the adaptive cruise control set to 70mph (the posted speed limit). There were no other cars on the highway in my line of sight, when without warning, the automatic emergency braking system engaged and the car slammed on the brakes, coming to nearly a complete stop. Alarms, lights and brakes all fully engaged in a sudden and unexpected manner, absolutely putting my life at risk. I was so shaken up by this experience that I had to pull over and compose myself before continuing on to my destination. I took the vehicle in to my local Honda dealership and told them of all the issues. To date, the only issue fixed is the infotainment system. I've taken my vehicle in to Honda multiple times, and although trouble-shooting and 'fixes' have been done, within a couple of weeks from the 'fix', the car starts behaving like this again. Honda repeatedly says they can't find a problem or they've 'fixed' the problem. Clearly there is a problem and none of the 'fixes' have worked. I don't feel safe driving the car, but cannot afford to replace it.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a beeping noise would emit from the vehicle as the vehicle would independently brake without incident. The vehicle would resume normal driving after the failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be serviced or diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
My Honda Accord has randomly started breaking by itself. I was not pressing the brake just the gas as I was driving and it wouldn’t go as I pressed the gas again . The dash flicked off and came back on and it allowed me to go as I pressed the gas . This could result in a bad accident if it happens on the freeway at 60+ mph. I’m very nervous to drive this car as I have 2 children in it often as well. Please make other 2019 Honda Accord owners known as well as this could happen to them too.
I was driving on part of the highway when the car suddenly braked on its own. Cruise control was not on. I was not close to any other vehicles in front of me. I was not close to any structures in front of me.
I was driving on a local urban street, probably 20 mph, when car suddenly braked hard for no reason. My foot was not on the brake at the time, and there was not a car or potential collision in front of me to trigger this. I reported the problem to the dealer, and they performed a software update. They weren't able to tell me if it was a general update or one specific to this problem.
Car applied brakes on highway for no reason. Was almost rear ended as a result.
Today, April 23, at around 12 pm, I was driving through my neighborhood, on a straight line at about 25 mhp with clear view no obstacles in sight keeping my foot on the gas pedal, when suddenly the car applied the emergency breaking, with flashing indication on the dashboard that said break. It was a very rough yank. It's something I would expect at a near collision situation. But there wasn't anything ahead of my car in hundreds of feet. I believe the automatic emergency breaking misfired. I am very concerned about driving with it engaged now, so I have to turn it off every time I start my car. There is no way to turn it off permanently.
