I have keep regular maintenance up on my car. Recently all of the lights began flashing on the dashboard. I had oil changed, reset the battery, and all ignition coils. The lights came back on within a week. The car stalled while driving it and had to pull over inside of the highway, turn it off, wait a few minutes before turning it back on.
On Monday, the 22nd of June, I returned to my vehicle after work with all windows rolled down, and appeared to have been searched? nobody was harmed nor was there any property damage. Just visible signs of a security breach and could still be compromised.
My Honda Accord keeps trying to turn off in the middle of the fwy and I know it’s due to the fuel pump, I have a misfire and all the warning lights came on. This is due to Honda having the fuel pump recalled that has damaged all the fuel injectors. It took them almost a year to get the recall parts and now myself and a ton of others are now having to pay for these fuel injectors to have a car that doesn't stall and die on the road. Honda should have taken care of this knowing it damaged the fuel injectors. Also issue with air bad supplemental issues.
I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2019 Honda Accord lx. While driving, a yellow “brake system” warning light appeared on the dashboard. The vehicle continued to drive normally, and no obvious braking problems were noticed at that time. However, the warning remained illuminated while driving. In addition, I experienced intermittent episodes where pressing the accelerator pedal did not immediately increase vehicle speed. There was an approximately 1–2 second delay before the vehicle responded to throttle input. This occurred while the vehicle was in motion and could create a potentially dangerous situation in traffic. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it, the warning light disappeared. The issue appears intermittent. The brake fluid level is normal, and no diagnostic trouble codes were detected with a basic obd-ii scanner when the warning was present. After researching the issue online, I found multiple owners reporting similar symptoms involving brake system warnings and temporary loss of accelerator response on Honda Accord vehicles. I am concerned that this may indicate an electrical, braking system, sensor, or software-related defect that could affect vehicle safety. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue and determine whether a broader safety concern exists.
Vehicle was being driven on the highway when suddenly engine hesitated and started stalling. Speed was reduced from around 65mph down to the low 40s. Cars were stacking up behind and passing, causing potential hazardous conditions. Vehicle was taken to a mechanic shop and diagnosed with misfiring, after reading obd ii with many alerts coming on. Further diagnostics revealed cylinder head gasket was leaking coolant into engine, as shown by borescope images. This is a known problem on 2018-2020 Honda Accords with both 1. 5t & 2. 0 engines. The multiple alert messages started to come on a few weeks ago, but the engine hesitation and stalling just started this week. At first we suspected a 12v battery issue, but testing confirmed battery was at 12. 8v with no issues.
Upon recent repairs completed by an official Honda licensed dealership for the fuel pump due to the related issue of stalling, misfiring, insufficient fuel economy and safety concern. My vehicle has continued to stall, misfire or idle extremely rough. Upon local investigation the error code p0203 and p0303 have populated as the most recent issue. No longer allowing me to drive the vehicle as it remains in limp mode. Previously error codes such as p0304 and p0302 as well as the associated error codes for the injector circuits indicating “open” have previously been detected intermittently and now permanently. In previous events within the last 3 months I have been stranded on highways due to the same stalling, misfiring and limp mode issue after I have previously been inspected by a Honda dealership and promised the issues would resolve. Unfortunately driving at respectable highway speeds and even local city limits my safety as well as my child and spouse’ safety have been put at risk due to the sudden deceleration caused by consistent misfires or limp mode effect which can cause me to have a collision with no warning. I have nearly been in 3 accidents due to this persistent issue.
Every light on my dash appears, replaced spark plugs , battery etc lights still on. . I’ve seen too many cars with the same issue and we’re being told the same thing.
My car started getting hot, began to overheat. I was on my way home on freeway. Second lane from slow lane. My car began to loose power, I could no longer excelerate. There was a big rig coming up behind me he was not slowing down as he got closer began honking I was trying to flag him that I could not move, as I was trying it started to go like 5 miles per hour where I began slowly to get over, cars in the other lane slowed down. Big rig went around me and avoided any collision. Thank god. I slowly made my way home on the streets with heater blasting. I towed my car to the dealer. I was told, my head gasket needed to be replaced, more than likely I would need a knew engine. Dealership said it was because when taken my car in for service I did not bring to the dealership. Cashier told me that there have been several incidents as mine. To my surprise I googled 2019 Honda Accord engine, and there were many with the same issue same car same year. Yet no recalls! I was lucky not to have been killed or have caused a multiple car collision. Are we waiting for someone to be killed to recall these engines. I missed several days of work, borrowed cars and rented a car to get back and forth to work not to mention the tramatic experience of a big rig coming at you honking on a freeway. A week prior to this incident, my lights on the dashboard came on. I did call the dealership to set up an appointment. At that point they were no signs of overheating. I have taken my care in faithfully for oil changes where all fluids are checked, I was not told not once that any fluids were ever low, last visit was approx 5 months ago. I have called to have them send me all receipts. However in hindsight I do not need theses records as it has been proven by other people they have had the same experience. We are not talking about a faulty air conditioner we are speaking of an engine, in my case power failure. In the even records of oil changes and dealership diagnosis is required. I can email.
Car lost power on freeway, had the car towed to local Honda. After several hours of sitting at dealership and talking to several different employees. One employee comes back to tell me the head gasket was blown and needed repaired. And that this is a common issue he has been seeing in this make/model of car.
The turbo! code p0299! hundreds of thousands of americans going through the same issue all their lights are flashing on their dashboard with these 1. 5 t engines.
Description of incident: 1. Component/system failure: the engine cooling system and head gasket failed. A certified shop has confirmed coolant intrusion and a failed leak-down test on cylinder 2. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety risk: my safety and the safety of my family and other drivers were put at extreme risk. On March 1, 2026, the vehicle suffered a sudden loss of motive power while traveling at 70 mph on the freeway. The car dropped to 15 mph instantly, forcing me to maneuver across active lanes to a narrow shoulder with almost no space. I was nearly hit by high-speed traffic. This has occurred over 8 times since 2023. 3. Confirmation by service center: the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center on site lube auto & tire. They utilized a borescope and leak-down test to verify the internal engine failure. 4. Inspections: the vehicle has been inspected by a certified independent technician. I am in the process of notifying the manufacturer (Honda) of these findings for their inspection and accountability. 5. Warning lamps & symptoms: prior to the total power loss, the vehicle displayed engine temperature warnings and "check engine" lights. These symptoms first appeared approximately 8 months after purchase in 2023 and have progressively worsened, leading to the current engine failure. 6. Additional notes: this failure is identical to issues cited in active class-action lawsuits regarding Honda's engine defects, affecting both standard and hybrid models. I am communicating via written report/email for documentation and accessibility purposes.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was a choking sound coming from the vehicle, and brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle was turned off and while restarting the vehicle, the lane departure, tpms, brake system, brake hose, brake performance reduced, and other warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
All light come on brake system, acc, road migration, collision migration, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability system, electrical power steering, and it will not go when at a light. Almost causing a car accident.
I brought my 2019 Honda Accord to dealer for safety recall for something with the fuel system. Since then, I've been having car problems with acceleration, car jerking, and numerous dash lights coming on along with the check engine light. Had a few incidents where my vehicle was not functioning properly and would break down. Had my vehicle towed once since getting my vehicle back from dealer due to recall. Please advise and please help.
My vehicle started having issues with misfires approximately 2 years after I bought it in January 2020. I bought it new from the dealership in salinas California. I took it to morgan hill Honda for repairs. It’s had 2 misfires and I took it in for a fuel pump recall. About 2 weeks later all my lights in my dash come on. I took it in to get looked at and they said it’s the turbo engine, $3k to fix it. I’ve had nothing but problems and it’s like a bandaid of a fix every time. The first time it happened I was merging onto highway [xxx] and it gave out and slowed down to 25mph. I had to pull over to the shoulder almost caused an accident. All types of lights popped up such as emissions system problem tire pressure monitoring brake system problem vehicle stability electric power hill start acc collision mitigation road departure mitigation.
My car has been sending several warnings including: brake system: electric parking brake system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, supplemental restraint system problem, and power steering reduction problem. My car is not even 100,000 miles yet. I have had all maintenance done on time and recently had brakes replaced. I have changed my battery and tires twice within the 6 years of owning the car. It seems this is a regular complaint for such low mileage. I was a Toyota person but switched to Honda for their safety performance, and now I am regretting that. I read that this is the turbo needing to be changed. This part should be recalled if it is failing soon. A person who just bought a car should not be paying $4500 in repairs already. I had the fuel pump recall replacement done, and had the brakes done. I am changing the spark plugs and ignition coils next week. Honda needs to do something about this and I am looking to join in the class action suit against them, if they do not correct the issue.
The lights on my car have been displaying on and off for two years. I keep being told that it is a battery issue, I replace the battery and months later all of my car lights are back on. The car drives hard, and stalls. Very unsafe.
All warning lights turn on on the dash board. I replaced the battery, airbag module, and abs module and I'm still having the same issue.
Lights go crazy in dashboard apparently due to constan cylinder misfires, spark plugs changed, same issue, fuel injectors and coils changed, same happened keep it getting fix and the problem persist, making the car dangerous to drive, since it loses power since the car it’s not able to respond and work as it should be having engine, steering and brake issues, problem has been confirmed by dealer. It hasn’t been inspected by manufacturer. The lost of power and acceleration it’s probably one of the symptoms before all the light go on again. It’s been several times that this happens and I know for a fact that many people are experiencing this issues due to turbo or head gasket failure. Might get that inspected soon.
Fuel pump failed, car stalled and was unresponsive.
Vehicle: 2019 Honda Accord lx summary of safety defects & failure: my vehicle is experiencing severe, dangerous mechanical and electrical failures identical to existing national safety recalls, yet my specific VIN is being excluded by the manufacturer. 1. Fuel system failure & engine stalling: the vehicle is experiencing sudden engine stalling and failure to start due to a defective low-pressure fuel pump. This matches the exact failure profile of NHTSA recall numbers 23v-858, 21v-215, and 20v-314 (Honda campaigns kgc/kgd). This defect causes the vehicle to lose power unexpectedly, creating an immediate crash hazard on active roadways. 2. Body control module (bcm) defect: the vehicle is suffering from critical electrical disruptions, resulting in erratic component failures including [mention any specific symptoms you have, e. G. , malfunctioning windshield wipers, defrosoter failure, rear-view camera blacking out, or power window errors]. This perfectly mirrors the systemic programming defect outlined in NHTSA recall number 20v-771 (Honda campaign x95). Dealer diagnosis & manufacturer denial: I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership multiple times. - in June 2025, the bcm software issues were initially dismissed by the dealer as a general electrical problem. - a subsequent comprehensive diagnostic confirmed the fuel pump and bcm failure, resulting in a repair estimate of $4,688. The dealership refused to cover the repairs under the safety recalls, citing that my VIN is not currently flagging "open recalls" in their corporate database. When referred to american Honda motor CO. Corporate customer support, corporate summarily dismissed my complaint and refused any cost assistance or repair remedy, despite their clear knowledge that these exact defects plague the 2019 Accord lx model year. Because the manufacturer is utilizing restrictive VIN range loopholes to evade financial accountability for known safety hazards, I am filing this complaint.
All my warning lights are on. Drives fine but I can’t use cruise control or any safety features. Replaced the module but they said I need it synced with my VIN???.
Honda Accord 2019 could not start after parked in garage for 6 weeks. Instrument panel showing: 1) brake hold system problem 2) brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. 3) electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. 4) electric power steering system problem. Steering assist reduced.
My vehicle had been running fine up until the dash lit up, engine check turned on along with the tire pressure sensor and as of right now my car does not accelerate.
All the lights came on on the car, took it to get looked at they stated it was the turbocharger I spent $2500 to get it replaced and yet all the lights are still on-automatic headlights don’t work and the infotainment system keeps cutting out-like glitching. According to the Honda representative at the dealership, this year model has had alot of issues and several cars in the last month alone have replaced turbochargers and had to come back and get an entire motor! this is highway robbery if the cars themselves weren’t put together correctly from the manufacturer. This needs to be looked into as I’m having to shell out thousands of dollars for a defective car. My [xxx] drives this vehicle and I don’t know what to do as the dealership charges $190 for every diagnostic test and to not have an answer is frustrating. All I’m hearing is several cars this year are horribly made. This needs to be investigated and resolved. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.
The engine light has come on several times. I was told it was the battery ignition switch, then the sensor in front of the car and now they are saying it is the turbo.
1. Component: the engine head gasket and the combustion system (specifically cylinder 2). Specifics: a leak-down test confirmed a failure in cylinder 2, leading to coolant intrusion. This was initially masked by a water pump code, but after the water pump was replaced and the code returned, a borescope confirmed "clean" pistons (steam-cleaned by coolant) and tap scarring. Availability: yes, the vehicle and all diagnostic records are available for inspection. 2. Emergency maneuvers: on multiple occasions, the car entered "limp mode" while driving 70–75 mph on the freeway. This caused a sudden, dangerous drop in speed, forcing me to maneuver through high-speed traffic to reach the median/suicide lane. Stranded: the vehicle overheated 5 times in one trip, leaving me vulnerable on the side of a busy freeway. 3. Yes. An independent shop confirmed the failure via a leak-down test, a borescope inspection, and physical analysis of the spark plugs. They confirmed that despite the computer throwing a water pump code, the mechanical failure is the head gasket. 4. Status: it has been inspected by an independent service center. I am now using their findings to pursue a lawsuit/claim against Honda for selling a vehicle with a pre-existing internal engine defect. 5. Timeline: symptoms began in April 2024 (two months after purchase). Initial signs: an "emission system" warning light appeared. The diagnostic code indicated a water pump failure, which was replaced in April. Recurring symptoms: in November, the car suffered multiple misfires and "limp mode. " in March, the "emission system" light and the same water pump code returned, but the shop confirmed the pump was functional and the true cause was the head gasket leak into the cylinders.
All warning lights have turned on my dash. Ive done research and this is happening a lot of people that own 2018-2020 Honda Accord 1. 5l.
The motor to the lock in the gas tank makes a very loud sound and doesn’t appear to work properly.
Forward collision warning stopped working after a system upgrade on my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I activate the forward support and immediately it turns off. This is a safety issue. The system assist in breaking in time to maintain car distance and avoid a collision. Contacted Honda. I was told to take it to service at my cost.
Christmas tree dashboard.
All lights keep popping on. . Get maintenance done still come on and off.
I’ve had 2 readings one from Honda and one from a different mechanic shop. One reads bad fuel injectors from the mechanic shop and the other from the Honda dealership reads bad turbo. All lights on my dash board. I didn’t have any lights on before my fuel pump was replaced due to that recall and now my dash board looks like christmas lights.
In December 2024, all of the lights on my dashboard came on & my car would not accelerate. The code indicated that it was a "cylinder 2 misfire. " I replaced the ignition coil for cylinder 2 but my car continued to have the same issues. I had all 4 ignition coils replaced and all 4 spark plugs. In March 2025, all of the lights on the dashboard came on again with the car not accelerating properly. I had it looked at again, was told that it was a "cylinder 2 misfire" again but all 4 ignition coils were working properly. A spark plug was replaced at that time. Then, in may 2025, the car did the same thing with all of the lights coming and the car would not properly accelerate. The car again read that there was a misfire with "cylinder 3" but all of the ignition coils worked properly. I had the fuel injectors replaced and another spark plug replaced. The car didn't even make it 24 hours before all the lights came on again. The rpms in the car now go past "3" but will not accelerate & shift gears. The Honda dealership has advised me that the head gasket needs replaced. My car has 74,000 miles on it. I had it inspected April 2024 with no head gasket issues & the car was at 64,000 miles approximately. So, in 8 months' time, the head gasket was blown & the car is well under 100,000 miles. I have been told that the engine my car has, 1. 5l turbo with Honda has had this issue to the extreme that a class action lawsuit has been filed as Honda refuses to do any time of recall or assist with repairs. I literally had to drive with my 4 ways on to avoid being hit in an intersection due to the inability of my car to accelerate. The NHTSA needs to investigate Honda & determine if they are defrauding consumers by refusing to issue a recall due to this common & dangerous issue. I have owned 7 hours in the 30 years I have had a driver's license & never once had a head gasket issue or any issues to this extreme. I have never replaced a head gasket in any car that I have owned.
