36 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2024

The car won't "turn over" or start because it's there is not enough or no fuel being delivered to the engine. Fuel is not being delivered significantly enough for the engine to start. Towed to the local dealership to have the fule pump replaced. However, when the parts neede to fix/replace the fuel pump are not avaliable for months. When they tried to have the part delivered they we told no because it could not be proven to he the problem. The repair manager told me they didn't have time, interest or the personel to continue the process and I had to tow it from the dealership to an independently local repair shop where it remains indefinitely.

I got an oil change done and everything was fine brakes were good , battery , engine , everything . Then dashboard lights came on the engine light saying to take to dealer the. The adas system sensors popped up when I’m driving they will automatically slam on breaks if I’m not even close , now it’s having a hard time starting up.

38 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2023

All of the safety and warning lights appear on my car upon starting. Collision mitigation electric parking brake brake system problem electric power system problem adaptive cruise control problem tire pressure monitoring problem system morning light comes on in my car and I’m afraid my car may shut down at any time due to all of the system, seemingly failing. It started doing it randomly and the warnings will go off so I’d ignore it but now it is more consistent and they stay on all the time. I searched online to see if anyone else had experienced this and there are many others are having the same issues.

39 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2023

Car makes a highly audible hum resonance at 45-55 mph. This sounds like a very load wheel bearing issue but it apparently related to auto noise reduction system putting the sound through the speakers. This is a known Honda issue they need to fix, shouldn't happen on a nearly new car.

40 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2023

These cars being known for having very bad fuel injectors. So much so that Honda cannot keep up with the demand for replacement parts. These cars are now being known for blowing head gaskets and having their fuel injectors go bad before 80,000 miles. It’s not just a simple fix because when these injectors go out they turn off all of the safety equipment on the car and make it loose all power. This happened to my wife while she was driving on the highway. Thank god she was able to pull over safely but this is an issue that needs to be looked into and addressed before someone gets killed!.

41 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2023

My three year old daughter was locked in the vehicle recently which is a major safety concern and was a very terrifying experience. All door locks were malfunctioning. I was unable to gain access to her for several minutes via my key fob or manually pulling the handle/latch. It was in the 40s, after several minutes I was able to gain access through the drivers door. I struggled to undo her car seat from the front. Finally I was able to reach her and she crawled out through the front seat. I was frantic because I was unable to manually unlock the doors when the door release latching system failed. The very next morning I went to warm up the car to take my daughter to school and 10warnings displayed: tpms, brake system hold, brake system performance, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control x2, electric power steering, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation. This incident constitutes as child endangerment in the state of nc. I am terrified and afraid to drive this vehicle, because if in the event of an emergency the doors/car could malfunction again and we would not be able to exit the vehicle. Surprisingly, I took my car the next morning to a scheduled diagnostics appointment with my certified Honda dealership and they failed to identify the problem. This experience is very anxiety provoking and overwhelming to know that the one thing that is supposed to protect us and keep us safe is the one thing that failed us. Someone needs to hold Honda accountable before this defect results in bodily harm/injury and/or death. This is something that should be taken seriously as Honda has had known problems with the body control modules and safety mechanisms. I would like for NHTSA to conduct a causation survey for failure of safety mechanisms. I would like an update after investigations have been conducted. Sincerely, terror stricken and perplexed mom.

42 Electrical System problem

Door actuator malfunctioning on 2019 Honda Accord. Won't lock at times, won't unlock at times either.

43 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2023

Car will randomly fully brake and stop while driving and collision system warning will show up on dash even when there is nothing in front or near car. As well as all the warning lights randomly going off when there is no issue with the car.

44 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2023

The malfunctioning component is the electronic door lock system of my 2019 Honda Accord touring hybrid, specifically the driver's side door. This problem persists and is available for inspection. The failure of this system posed a safety risk as it prevents secure access and egress from the vehicle. I was unable to unlock my vehicle using the electronic key fob or the interior lock/unlock button, which could pose a problem in emergency situations where quick exit from the vehicle is required. The problem has been reproduced over a period of 6-8 weeks, with the issue becoming consistent and isolated to the driver's side door. The issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center yet, nor has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. My car has recently aged out of warranty and given the experiences of others online, I don't have the money to hand over to the dealer for diagnostic fees with zero resolution. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the issue's occurrence. It started sporadically, sometimes affecting different doors, but in recent weeks, it has been a consistent problem with the driver's door. This problem isn't exclusive to my vehicle. I've read online forums where others, even with different models of Honda Accords, have encountered similar issues, suggesting this could be a common issue across certain models. One person described a similar, erratic door lock behavior where the failure would switch from door to door. It was speculated that the issue could be either software-related or potentially a faulty relay that couldn't supply power to all the actuators simultaneously. Given these circumstances, I think it's crucial to investigate this matter further, as it poses both a security and safety risk for Honda Accord users.

All of the warning lights are on. The adaptive cruise control, e parking brake, tire pressure monitor, brake system performance, vehicle stability assist, electric power steering lights are all currently on. Failure Date: 04/13/2023

Every single dash warning light is showing up on my car and I've had it looked at and claimed to be fixed but it has popped back up and I'm unaware of the problem and it's been this way since I've bought my car and I've read online a few others have had this problem.

48 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2023

On 01-31-2023 at 5pm my Accord (2019, 27k miles) experienced a limp mode condition on the highway forcing me to pull over onto the shoulder and restart the car. I was traveling for 4+ hours in rain / misting rain on the way to north carolina for a business trip. I went to pass a slow moving vehicle, and the car’s check engine light began to flash 2 seconds after I hit the accelerator. The car’s check engine light began to flash and the car would not exceed 40mph, indicating it had entered a limp mode condition. This forced me to pull over onto the shoulder. After a restart, the car performed as normal with no cel. I took the car to advance auto parts to see if the ecu captured any codes - 3 “pending” codes were stored - p0300 random misfire, p0301 cylinder 1 misfire, p0304 cylinder 4 misfire. I took the car to shockley Honda in frederick MD on 02/06/2023 and the pending codes had cleared / a diagnosis of possible traction control engagement was given - I am 100% certain this was the check engine light / limp mode, and that this is an incorrect diagnosis. . 50 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2022

On Dec of 2022 I expereienced my first encounter with the recall and my engine was affected. I was on a busy highway when the car made some weird noises and then stalled. When I took the car to the mechanic, he stated I needed a new engine. I couldnt understand why however I needed my car and had to get it fixed. Months later, my car again, leaves me on the side of a congested street, because it stalled. This time, im told its the fuel pump. For two months every week, I am at the mechanic because it ends up that my car has two fuel pumps and both went bad. I end up hearing about the fuel pump recall after I spent $8600 on getting my car fixed. I am imploring for full reimbursment. This matter left me on sides of roads many a times and need assistance with getting my monies back.

51 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

As I was driving down the interstate, it had been raining hard, but the speed had increased and we were going around 70-75, speed limit 70. I was in the far left lane when the lane all of a sudden was ending. I had to work my way over fast, so I kicked it to move over to the next lane, and when I did, I lost all power in the vehicle. I was terrified !! I did have enough speed to get over one lane but there was a lot of traffic and I had to get over another one to stop on the shoulder. It was close but we did get over and stop without causing an accident. If I had of hit someone or someone hit me, it would have been a multi car accident with all the traffic and probably someone being killed, including my husband and I. This needs to be investigate before someone is killed .

52 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2022

My car was initially at performance Honda due to engine failure on June 24, 2022. They called on July 20, 2022 and confirmed that my car engine was repaired and I picked it up on July 20, 2022. Then on July 23, 2022, I incurred the same engine failures as noted by the warning and error lights on my display panel. The car started slowing down while I was on the expressway creating a safety hazard but I was able to drive it to performance Honda. The manager explained that the car needed a turbo and they had to asked Honda to approve the purchase to install it into my car. I dont know if the turbo is new or used or even under warranty but performance Honda contacted me on August 8 and said again the engine was repaired. I've read where there are other owners experiencing similar issues. My car was still within warranty of my purchase date July 17, 2019 and the repairs were made under the warranty but I still incurred rental car expenses that have not been reimbursed to date.

53 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2022

When I was driving during a storm on June 24, 2022, the numerous warning readings flashed on my dashboard. My car begin to slow down until it completely stalled. I was able to restart the car and drive it off the main road and it stalled again. Aaa tolled my car to performance Honda. I have a 2019 Honda Accord ex purchased July 17, 2019 with 35014 miles. Honda explained that the engine had lost oil and the engine was completely inoperable.

54 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/09/2022

Door lock actuator of 1 door out of 4 is gets stuck between open and close positions (brainfart) mode and won't respond to center lock/unlock. It won't unlock with the fob from outside or respond to door unlock button from inside. If I am inside the car, I have to brush my hand against the physical lock latch simultaneously with pressing the unlock switch. I am afraid in case of an accident, the door may not open as normal. Apparently this is a common problem as I have searched many Honda online forums.

55 Electrical System problem

Tachometer issues.

56 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2022

This vehicle has a safety issue when it comes to snow on the ground and driving on a hill/incline. I was driving my vehicle through snow in the ohio/wv region and when I tried to drive up a hill with snow on the ground the vehicle stopped. The vehicle would not accelerate and it seemed the engine just shut off. So I put the car in neutral and pushed the gas and I was correct the engine had no rpms. This caused a huge safety issue to myself and the people driving near me. As I had zero control over the vehicle on an incline. The cars coming toward me and the ones behind me had zero issues with their vehicles going up this hillside. I tried three times to shut car off and back on so it would give me a few seconds of acceleration, allowing me to get up the hill a few more feet before shutting off again and possibly causing an accident. When I took it to my Honda dealer they stated computer showed no issues with the vehicle. And they have not heard of the engine shutting down or not having rpms with snow on the ground. They recommended that I have tracking control off next time allowing me full control vs. The computer of the car however, I did have it off. Once they heard that statement they informed me I have no other options. Honda did tell me when driving in snow other messages can go off and the car is still safe to drive. Which it needs to be as this area has tons of snow. However, that is not the case if the car just shuts off. Prior to the issue, the car kept beeping non stop with warning of break system & adaptive cruise control. My sensors were wiped off prior to the car shutting off. Yet again you can't keep a sensor spotless driving on a highway with snow. Two of the warning lights that showed on my dashboard were not listed in the manual. I am now afraid to drive my vehicle with any snow coming down. I have been a Honda owner since the 90's and I no longer trust this brand.

57 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2021

Upon accelerating on a highway, the malfunction indicator light came on and the car lost power. Without drive power it was very dangerous to maneuver to exit the freeway. The dealership recognized that this was due to issues with the intercooler and pgm-fi software for this vehicle and is spelled out in a technical service bulletin (Honda 21-052). However, even though the car is under the original warranty, they want to charge over $250 for the repair.

58 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2021

Vehicle repeatedly experiences a "cylinder misfire error" when driving above 45 mph. The check engine light will flash and the car surges like it is stalling. Loss of the ability to accelerate when it occurs. Also, the car shakes violently when the vehicle comes to a stop before turning off the engine. Many times, after restarting problem temporarily stops. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times, but problem is unsolved. Happens at least once a week. Started at 58,000 miles. More recently, the vehicle experiences a safety system failure when driving above 45 mph. 10 system warning lights were activated and will continually appear on instrument panel. Warning lights activated: 1. Hill start assist problem 2. Adaptive cruise control system problem 3. Collision mitigation braking system problem 4. Road departure mitigation system problem 5. Emission system problem 6. Tire pressure monitor system problem 7. Brake system problem 8. Electric power steering system problem 9. Vehicle stability assist system problem 10. Brake hold system problem.

59 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2021

Randomly my vehicles lkas, acc, blind spot monitoring will go out with a message to visit dealer. Also my exterior headlight controls won't work, turn signal stops working, backup camera stops working, rear trunk control, rear defroster. All steering wheel controls stop working as well. This can last for a couple days or as short as a few minutes. Every time I have taken it to the dealer the problem has 'fixed' itself and they can not find any errors. I have two videos I can share showing the errors. I did do a screen shot of the errors from the video and uploaded.

While driving, car automatically applies brakes. Speed will slow all the way down, almost to a stop. Multiple warning lights dealing with brake system will randomly pop up, but also leave on their own just to reoccur later on. I just got this car a month ago with only 19,xxx miles.

66 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2021

Very loud roaring noise when driving about 50 mph in cold weather on a highway. This not engine noise, but seems to a glitch in the automatic noise cancelling system that causes a feedback loop resulting in an alarming roaring sound that can cause driver to panic or otherwise be distracted from driving safely.

67 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2020

On December 26, 2020, I was leaving work, after a 12 hour shift at the hospital. While backing into an alleyway my car struck a large roll-off dumpster (which was caddy cornered in the alley) of the back, driver quarter panel and back driver door. the rearview camera, blind spot warning, parking collision warning, the rear cross traffic warning, nor the automatic emergency braking kicked in. I was going at a very low speed at the time of the incident (~1-2 mph). My car had been warmed up prior to getting in it. I did not spend over 40k on a vehicle for the the safety features to not work when you need them to. I have noticed that I have also had issues with my lane departure warning and the forward collision warning has been not working 100% of the time recently, but that never bothered me before. what is upsetting is that I have already had to have Honda replace the front sensor due to my car throwing codes (lkas, adaptive cruise control & front collision warning) not functioning, as well as my back driver door lock (already gone bad). Now this. My car isn't even 2 years old. I took my car by my local dealership (priority Honda of roanoke) on 12/30/20 where I was told to contact american Honda because of the recall on the bcm on my car and was told that this most likely contributed to the accident. After contacting american Honda I was basically told that it is not a safety recall but a "non-compliance" recall and that the safety features they boast about are not actual safety features of the car and should not be relied upon in any case. So, they do not stand behind their vehicles. This incident could have been so much worse and I am thankful that it wasn't, but I am still sickened over this! I purchased a brand new car for its safety features that don't work, to be told by the manufacturer that they are not liable for their product not working correctly.

68 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2020

On 3 different dates my 2019 Honda Accord sport had a power failure. I was going about 65 to 70 mph when each incident occurred. First time was around 12/12/2021. The engine or power shut off, rpm dropped all at once for about a minute then came back to life. The second time was 12/28/2020 on the same interstate 81fgoing about the same speed. This time I pulled off the interstate the car was still shut off. I restarted the car it drove ok and no more trouble that day. On 01/12/2020 it happened again on I 81 interstate and again it shut off or lost all power for about a minute then it recovered itself. This was a very bad situation as I was in 3 lanes of traffic with tractor trailers all around going 70 mph. I have reported this to miller Honda, three times. They took it in and tried to see if it would shut off on them. It did not at that time. Service manager could find nothing at that time. I have called Honda and registered a claim as I feel this new car with only 5,500 miles on it is not safe to drive.

69 Electrical System problem

The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable.

70 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2020

I was on the freeway going about 75mph, when suddenly, my vehicle's cmbs system activated and slowed down speed to 20mph approx. Without having any vehicles in front or near me. Luckily, the driver behind me was not following close and was able to avoid a collision by switching lanes. I have taken my vehicle to the dealer twice, but no one can find or duplicate the problem. Moreover, a couple of weeks ago, when I was switching lanes, toward the right, the left warning light and beeping noise came on. So far, I have recorded nine incidents when the vehicle slowed down on its own, and four of those were on the freeway. I was forced to deactivated all "safety" sensors while I am driving to avoid anymore incidents or accidents.
