2 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/12/2025

Loud, pulsing, static sound from the car speakers. I was driving home after purchasing this car and an impossibly loud static sound came from the speakers even though the audio unit was powered off. I thought I had been hit by a truck and went off the road. There was some damage to the body and the underside of the car, but I was able to drive it back home. I pulled the fuse for the radio thinking that was the problem, but the sound returned, still blasting static from the speakers and now my side cameras and blind spot warnings do not work. This is not just an annoying problem, it is a serious safety issue. Even when I am driving with hearing protection the noise drowns out all other traffic sounds. This static is full volume, measured at 90 dba on a calibrated radio shack 33-2055 sound level meter. I can't drive the car because of the hearing damage, and because of the intermittent nature of the problem, it can surprise you and cause a crash. It is the most distracting thing I have ever had to deal with while driving a car.

3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/30/2025

Blown head gasket after taking my car in to Honda cars of rock hill SC, I had no issues, only took it to have the fuel injector recall done, they did a diagnostic nothing came up, they did the fuel injector recall repair, and they asked if they could do the oil change I told them yes, a week later, my car lost power on interstate 77n in rock hill south carolina. I was going about 70 mph and it dropped from 70 to 20 mph in a matter of seconds, I had little time to get out the lane, I could have been killed or killed someone else I was terrified. Every known light on my 2018 Honda Accord came on, I have a video of the lights on my dashboard. I had it towed back to Honda cars of rock hill on 5/30/2025 and was told I had a blown head gasket. . . I asked them how, they just put a fuel injector and nothing else was wrong with my car. They told me cost is $5500. 00, I told them there as nothing wrong with my car prior to them doing the recall, matt told me there was nothing I did, so I asked him what did they do to my car, I need them to replace my motor who knows what other damage happened my car had no issues.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/13/2023

Only four months of owning a 2023 Accord hybrid ex-l the drivers side mirror with bsi-blind spot information, no longer is viewable at highway speeds. The dealership is aware but they say there is nothing they can do about this. I was told by the dealer that this particular drivers side mirror is on a very long back order across the country. I was told some mirrors were replaced but the same issue is occurring. Everyone is waiting on Honda to come up with a solution. It’s a dangerous situation while attempting to change lanes on the highway and not be able to view out the drivers side!.

12 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/17/2023

While driving I received a message stating the automatic emergency braking, steering assist, lane keeping assist, braking assist, hill hold, adaptive cruise control all we turned off. Additionally regenerative braking was also turned off. This system problem did not clear after the car turned off and back on. The dealership addressed the issue, but unsure of the cause. All codes were cleared and the system was recalibrated. This is the first incident of this type with this vehicle.

13 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/17/2023

The backup camera in my vehicle randomly but consistently stops working while the vehicle is in motion. The camera drops because the entire infotainment system crashes. The frequency of occurrence is approximately 2-3 times per month, but the problem has occurred for the past two years (around the time when Honda replaced the infotainment system due to a service bulletin). The system crashes usually within the first 1-5 minutes of driving. Sometimes it crashes when the vehicle is going forward, but a higher percentage of crashes occur in the first minute after I start the vehicle. If the vehicle is going forward and the system crashes, I lose the side camera which activates when I make a lane change to the left or a left-hand turn. I have notified Honda of this issue; I've worked with a local dealer and corresponded with Honda corporate. Importantly, I provided Honda with photos showing the system failure. However, Honda corporate refuses to fix the problem because, in their words, "we don't fix a problem that only happens periodically. " unacceptable! drivers like my self depend on the backup camera. Like the airbag or seat belt, the back-up camera should be regarded as a safety device. If it fails, an ome should be required to fix the issue immediately. Yet Honda refuses to address the problem with my vehicle, and I doubt mine is the only car with this problem. Taking photos of this problem is hard because the crash is unpredictable and getting my phone out and snapping a picture is difficult and discouraged. Nevertheless, the two photos I've attached are of crashes when the vehicle is going forward. My concern, though, is loosing the backup camera when in reverse. Please help me redress this issue. Thank you!.

15 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure to display the rearview image. There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. Nhtsa recall 18v-629 this specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 111 - rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Failure to display the rearview image may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Based on my research the same software bug is affecting the earlier models as well. . Read more...

22 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/16/2021

The rear camera system/speaker periodically gives a screeching static sound which was so unbearable until team Honda (lafayette, la) had to disconnect the entire system. I researched this issue and conclude it must be a factory defect because 1) due to the low mileage and infrequent usage of this vehicle 2) the commonalities among other 2017 Honda Accord drivers with the same issues who are from different regions, and because the speaker works when I plug in my iphone. Team Honda wants me to pay $1200 to install a new one because the original factory system is out of warranty. Should the manufacturer be liable for any parts of this system ? should I have to pay the cost for a defective vehicle and jeopardize my safety and be left without a radio for safety information, camera, and a gps? this is not my first Honda and had no issues with the previous one which is another reason why I know this is not human error. Can you please investigate this and share with me your findings. I paid $99 for them to disconnect my audio visual system on my car and received no explanation about the error. Thanks.

23 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/20/2021

Rear back-up camera failed on car with less than 28,000 miles. The vehicle is designed with a high rear, so unless the back-up camera is working, there's blind spots when reversing the car. Failure occurred after rare deep freeze/ice/moisture event in late Feb 2021. Wondering if moisture got into camera somehow.

24 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/27/2020

I was on the freeway going about 75mph, when suddenly, my vehicle's cmbs system activated and slowed down speed to 20mph approx. Without having any vehicles in front or near me. Luckily, the driver behind me was not following close and was able to avoid a collision by switching lanes. I have taken my vehicle to the dealer twice, but no one can find or duplicate the problem. Moreover, a couple of weeks ago, when I was switching lanes, toward the right, the left warning light and beeping noise came on. So far, I have recorded nine incidents when the vehicle slowed down on its own, and four of those were on the freeway. I was forced to deactivated all "safety" sensors while I am driving to avoid anymore incidents or accidents.

25 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/31/2019

Honda lanewatch which is a camera-based assist that projects a live feed of the vehicle's right-side blind spot on the car's infotainment screen, stopped working. Car distance markings still appear but the camera feed has gone black/there is no live feed. Similar issue is with reverse camera. There is no live image upon entering in reverse gear, the camera feed has gone black.
