All the lights came on on the car, took it to get looked at they stated it was the turbocharger I spent $2500 to get it replaced and yet all the lights are still on-automatic headlights don’t work and the infotainment system keeps cutting out-like glitching. According to the Honda representative at the dealership, this year model has had alot of issues and several cars in the last month alone have replaced turbochargers and had to come back and get an entire motor! this is highway robbery if the cars themselves weren’t put together correctly from the manufacturer. This needs to be looked into as I’m having to shell out thousands of dollars for a defective car. My [xxx] drives this vehicle and I don’t know what to do as the dealership charges $190 for every diagnostic test and to not have an answer is frustrating. All I’m hearing is several cars this year are horribly made. This needs to be investigated and resolved. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.

This car had a manufacturer recall for the "fuel pump". I was advised by Honda to go get the car checked by the dealer to evaluate if the issues I was getting were related to the recall. I paid close to $400 to get the car diagnosed and about 3/4 months after that I was told that the part is available for the recall service. I got the repair scheduled at the dealership and got the part replaced. Ever since I got this fuel pump replaced, now the car is struggling to pickup. It looks like a miss fire but it doesn't show any errors on display. In this condition, this car is not safe to drive around as it is skipping the engine thrusts. I have looked at Honda website and other online resources and people are talking about these issues but Honda hasn't said or done anything about it. It all started after I got the fuel filter replaced.

The 1000 miles or so, when trying to increase speed, would feel the gears slip between revolutions. I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. On April 19th while going up a hill on a side road, the car stalled and transmission warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted was able to slowly continue up hill at 15 miles per hour with the slipping becoming worse ( this is when I first called Honda to bring it in on Monday April 21. ) I was able to arrive to work. After leaving work I pulled out of the parking lot and the car just stalled with all lights and warnings going off from engine to airbag warnings to tire pressure lights going off and dinging. This is when I called a tow truck to tow to the curtiss ryan dealership. After talking to them at dealer they told me that other Accords have had this problem.
This vehicle was built terrible. It had a blown head gasket at 86,000 miles. The head was warped. My valve guides and seals were compromised and leaking into the combustion chamber. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.
While driving down the interstate the car lost power. The engine would continue to rev, but the car was not receiving power and was unable to accelerate. As this happened on the interstate where vehicles travel at high rates of speed, this was a safety concern because the car suddenly lost power. No lights lit up on the dash indicating a problem. Once the vehicle was towed to a Honda dealership, the mechanic stated that the belt in the cvt transmission had "disintegrated". He said this was not something that we could have prevented or foreseen beforehand.

Transmission does a lot of “gear searching” especially in bumper to bumper highway traffic, causing excessive braking or accelerating to compensate for the transmission feeling like it’s about to stall.

The cvt is failing with normal driving at 90k miles.
I am writing to report a serious mechanical issue with my 2018 Honda Accord 2. 0t that I believe may constitute a design or manufacturing defect with potential safety implications. At approximately 112,000 miles, the engine in my vehicle suffered a blown head gasket, which my mechanic determined was caused by a stretched timing chain. This failure followed roughly nine months of unexplained coolant consumption, during which time no visible leaks were detected. In addition to the coolant loss, the vehicle experienced two separate instances of entering limp mode while driving, creating a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power. Furthermore, during the winter months, I repeatedly lost cabin heat, suggesting early signs of internal engine issues related to coolant circulation or combustion gas intrusion. These symptoms point to a progressive failure that was not addressed by any recall or technical service bulletin (TSB) during my ownership. Given the growing number of reports from other 2. 0t Accord owners experiencing similar issues with premature timing chain wear and associated engine damage, I believe this may be a systemic issue that warrants investigation by NHTSA. A stretched timing chain causing catastrophic engine damage can easily lead to unexpected stalling, limp mode, or loss of control in certain conditions — all of which raise concerns about vehicle safety and reliability.
[xxx] son was driving vehicle outside of city limits. Had come to a 4 way stop sign and proceeded to make a left hand turn towards town. After turning and accelerating vehicle made a loud noise and immediately began coasting to a stop. Son pulled over thinking something with the transmission as the motor is running fine. The car is "free rolling" while in park and will only make a "clunking/knocking" noise when put into gear. Used insurance to have vehicle towed the 14. 8 miles home after being stuck on the highway for an hour. Today after internet searching found #20v769 regarding issue with broken driveshaft due to poor coatings from factory. Lack of coatings cause a premature failure due to rust build up, which is accelerated by road salt use. This bulletin covers several states that are in the "ice belt" of the us where they use road salt to treat the roads. Neighboring states of iowa and minnesota are both on the list, but not south dakota. This vehicle has been registered in sd it's entire life(which explains why no previous owners received the bulletin). We live 15 min from both minnesota and iowa and having lived here for 42 years I know that we use salt to treat our roads. Please update the bulletin to include south dakota as this needs to be covered under a safety recall due to identical situations causing premature failure. **reached out to Honda motorcars and received a case number as well. On Sunday, March 30th, while driving on the highway, the car jerked and a hard vibration was felt before the engine died. The orange engine light flashed two or three times on the instrument panel but that was it. The owners manual states that a flashing orange engine light indicates a misfire. No other lights prior to that moment had illuminated on the instrument panel. The car is a 2017 Accord sport with approximately 101k miles. Purchased in November 2021, this is the first time there’s ever been a problem and my car is maintained regularly. The car was towed to a local mechanic and I was told there was a misfire on cylinder 3, the valve spring is broken, the valve is bent, and the timing chain is loose. I was told I need a new engine. I don’t understand what happened because there was no warning or indication that anything was wrong. The safety concern is that the car died while driving on the highway and the vibration and jerking was scary trying to control the car while traveling at high speeds. I called Honda directly and I was told that my VIN isn’t included in any recalls so there’s nothing they can do to help. I know there was a service bulletin in 2019 for the cam chain tensioner but I don’t know if this car was serviced since I bought it in 2021. I can’t afford to replace the engine and I’m still making payments. My VIN isn’t included with the fuel pump or oil pump recalls despite now including the l4 2. 0 engines. This is my third Honda and I’ve never had anything like this happen before. The customer service rep said there was nothing they could do to help after confirming that my VIN wasn’t included in any of the recalls. I had the car towed to a Honda dealership earlier this week for a deeper look into how and why this happened and the tech said the engine suffered a catastrophic failure. He also stated that he’s never seen anything like this before - referring to the broken valve spring. Valve springs are not wear and tear items.
Cylinder 1 and cylinder 3 misfire (cylinder 3 misfired multiple times, even after attempts to fix it), and now I have a blown head gasket. On more than three separate occasions, my car has either stopped completely in the middle of the road—sometimes on the highway in the fast lane, with cars traveling 80+ mph behind me, putting my life at significant risk—or it will suddenly drop from the speed of traffic (80+ mph) to under 30 mph in a matter of seconds, out of nowhere. If it weren't for me swerving into an open lane to the right one time, I would have undoubtedly been rear-ended by a car traveling 80 mph. In that instance, my speed went from 0 mph to less than 30 mph in just seconds, which could have easily paralyzed me or even killed me had I hit my head on impact. Though I didn’t sustain a physical injury the first time this happened on the freeway, I did suffer a panic attack due to the sudden and extreme danger of the situation. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by two separate Honda dealerships at different times, but both were caused by the same issue. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, as I had it checked at two different Honda dealerships. No, there were no warning messages or symptoms prior to the failure; all issues occurred suddenly while driving, when my car barely started producing any power on the freeway.
I was driving on the freeway and my engine lost power and all the lights on my dashboard went haywire. I tried to get off the freeway but with the loss of power made it extremely difficult and dangerous. I thought I was going to get into an accident since my car slowed down so abruptly. I had to limp my way across traffic which was very scary. The car was jerking and shaking. I finally got to the side of the freeway and the car did not want to continue so I called for a tow truck and waited on the side of a busy highway. The tow truck brought my car to the Honda dealership which diagnosed the problem immediately as a blown head gasket. They said it was a known problem and the mechanic knew what to look for. They fixed the head gasket and I have my car back. My car only has 92k miles and I don’t think the head gasket should fail this early in the vehicles life. I properly maintain my engine with routine oil changes. There is no reason the engine should break down like this. I feel that there is a defect in Honda’s head gasket.
While driving my 2019 Honda Accord at approximately 65 mph on the highway, the car suddenly lost power, went into limp mode, and the steering wheel locked up. I was unable to turn or control the vehicle, which resulted in another car crashing into me. I sustained injuries in the accident and required medical attention. The incident was extremely dangerous and could have been fatal. After being towed to russell & smith Honda, they confirmed a blown head gasket was the cause of the failure. This issue is already the subject of a class-action lawsuit due to known design flaws in the 1. 5t engine. Honda only offered partial assistance, leaving me responsible for thousands in repair costs. This vehicle is unsafe and needs to be investigated immediately.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop and making a right turn, the vehicle lost power and started rolling. The vehicle was able to reverse 100 ft. And to push the vehicle 20ft. Into a nearby parking lot. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the front passenger's side cv axle was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side cv axle was fractured and could not be separated from the knuckle. The dealer applied excessive heat to separate the cv axle from the knuckle to replace the drive shaft; however, the part could not be separated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 20v769000 (power train), which the dealer related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the notice of NHTSA campaign number: 20v769000 (power train) was previously sent; however, the contact had not received the recall notification. The contact was concerned that the absence of a recall almost caused the contact and his family members to be involved in a crash and to be injured. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 186,753.
While waiting for the recalled parts to be in stock for the fuel pump module, my car starting running rough and going into limp mode several times a day. Thus causing near accidents with my children in the vehicle. After getting the fuel pump module recall fixed I asked and had to pay for a diagnostics test to see what was causing the car to do this. We were told it was the fuel injectors and were quoted $2000 to replace those. That was done 4 days ago at the dealer, and it happened again yesterday! we took the car back to the dealer today and they have just informed us we need to replace the head gasket & turbo and had a coolant leak causing these issues?! why that was never seen in the original diagnostics test nor a problem 4 days ago, but after spending $2000 we did not have to keep our family and others safe, we are now being told it will cost over $5000 to fix these now issues. We can’t afford that and now I don’t know what I am going to do! Honda needs to step up to the plate and take some culpability here and be responsible for what clearly appears to be a much needed recall for 2018 Accords! this is ridiculous. And for the service advisor to tell us this happens all of the time to these, if not daily, should speak volumes!.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended, and the vehicle lost automotive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle as a temporary repair however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was previously repaired for a head gasket failure; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 196,000.
Diagnosed with blown head gasket. No warning signs or lights . Car shut off and every light on the dash came on. It’s happening a lot with Accords!.

Randomly, my car will start throwing many warning signs when I crank my car. Then it magically disappears after 2 days. Also I drive my car past 40mph and the engine light came on and then I could no longer accelerate. My car was slowing down while I was on the freeway. I pulled over, turned my car off then back on. Everything is back to normal. Next day, I crank my car, warning signs again and then disappears. I took my car to the auto shop and they could not find any codes. I have videos and pictures. There’s also a Honda facebook group with my same model car reporting the same behavior.
Electrical component malfunctioning knock sensor: code error: p0325 I noticed my check engine light had came on but wasn't on for long and had turned off on the dash. A few weeks later the check engine light reappeared and did not go back off. Upon this happening I noticed a major difference in my vehicle performance. The fuel consumption had significantly increased, I recognized these shake like vibrations when sitting in park or at a complete stop. A "knocking noise" I would hear coming from the engine, as well as rough idling almost as if there was a "stalling/hesitant" idling that sounded very off. Adding a very noticeable reduced power from the engine that was not there when the check engine light was not on. This has been a confirmed malfunction and should be replaced due to the importance the knock sensor provides to the engine of this vehicle. This was confirmed by an employee at a parts store, with there computer code reader. Upon request for inspection; I have open availability. Confirmed: March 4, 2025 the additional code provided also stated the catalytic converter is recommended to be replaced as well. Engine related systems that power the vehicle such as (catalyst pipes) powertrain (previously recalled prior time frame) due to this being a numerously reported issue with many other owners of this same vehicle I own. There is a reoccurring issue that absolutely goes hand in hand with the performance and job of the also stated ongoing problems I'm facing. The knock sensor is a vital part to the powertrain system that helps optimize engine performance and protects it from harmful knocking by monitoring combustion irregularities. Potentially if these are current issues, and have caused any kind of damage, the damage alone effects as follows: -wiring issues, internal malfunction, physical damage , corrosion from exposure to engine fluids, internal short circuit, mechanical damage, faulty wiring, excessive vibrations, wear and tear from use.

I was driving approximately 60 mph on a local highway when my the check engine light came on. The dashboard then started flashing warning messages for multiple error messages stating that many features were failing such as power steering, acceleration, brakes, lane assist, stability assist, and more. My car then lost power and decelerated, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the highway. I was unable accelerate or steer my vehicle to the side of the road. No one hit me but this could have easily caused an accident where either myself or others were hurt. I turned the car off and when I restarted it, my dashboard message stated that I had a brake system problem and that I should see my dealer. I was able to drive to the dealer where they ran a diagnostic and could not replicate the problem. They only stated it was a loss of communication in the computer but that "it would probably not happen again. " they did nothing to identify what could have caused the loss in communication and said if it happened again, to bring the car back. I plan to take it to a certified mechanic to inspect the vehicle but I feel very unsafe driving a car that may lose power.

Scanned for codes. Found p0303, p0299, and p2243 stored. Found coolant entering cylinder 3. Found excessive play in the waste gate rod and found a/f sensor is not responding. Needs head gasket. Vehicle starts up and runs rough. All alerts on alerts on dash on cust states check engine light on. Honda sensing alerts on.
The vehicle unexpectedly stalled - lost power while driving and the brake system warning light came on. There were no warning lights, messages or other issues with the vehicle prior to this failure. Was fortunate that the car coasted to a stop on the side of a busy road with no traffic following behind. The vehicle was then towed to a Honda dealership for inspection. Was advised by the service department that there was a software update - unbeknown to us. The error code was cleared and the service department completed the pcm update per service bulletin 25-017.
Christmas tree dashboard with all lights on appeared a few weeks ago. Took car to auto shops twice. First time I was told coil 1 for cylinder 1 was misfiring, replaced with new coil. Lights did not go away, got my codes read again and was same error message of coil 1 misfire. In the past week car would not accelerate past 15mph after start up. I was immediately concerned it was a head gasket issue since that is a very known defect for my exact make and model of vehicle. Took into my Honda dealership where I purchased my Accord brand new. Was just told fuel injectors need to be replaced even though vehicle has been maintained properly. To me this seems this is directly correlated with the current fuel pump recall issue, I asked the service advisor if that was the case and she said she’d get back with me, and that she’s currently waiting to hear back from my lifetime powertrain warranty company (fidelity warranty services) to see if the fuel injector replacement is covered by them. If this make and model has time and time again been known to have faulty fuel injectors and head gasket issues that directly put the drivers safety at risk and end up causing thousands of dollars in repairs, Honda needs to take responsibility for rushing out vehicles without properly testing them first. If fuel injectors are not covered under my warranty, I will be contacting american Honda to assist me with the cost of the repairs.
Recurring issue where car loses all power to the powertrain, brakes, etc. While driving. Electrical systems inside the car and lights still functions, but complete loss of system to accelerate or keep the car going. After incident, computerized dashboard scrolls through multiple errors and then repeats (I have video). When I turn the car to the off position and then restart, only a single error for the braking system shows on the dash/computer system. If I turn it off again, and then back on, all errors are gone and the car drives "normally. " dealership could not repeat the issue and said computer system did not show any errors, even when I showed them pictures of the errors. First occurrence was 3/6/2024 on freeway during rush hour traffic, ~55mph. Car had 8010 miles on it. Second occurrence was 1/15/2025 on side highway where speed limit was 55mph; I was traveling about 40mph. Third occurrence on 2/7/2025 was just starting from a red light at an intersection and just made it through the intersection when car failed. Taking to dealership again for diagnosis.

On Friday, [xxx], while leaving a mcdonald’s in charlotte, nc, my car began to slow down and for different lights came on on my dashboard. I was unable to go over 45 miles per hour but was able to get my car to my sisters home that was a few miles away from where I started having car trouble. I was able to have the car towed to hendrick Honda in charlotte nc where they determined my car’s high pressure fuel pump went out. There are recalls on other 2017 Honda Accords but not mine. I get routine oil changes and have never had an issue like this before. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.
The transmission on my 2015 Honda Accord failed and I was stranded on the side of the road. The engine started to accelerate on its own and soon after the gas peddle was not working and I was forced to pull over. My safety was put at risk because I had to pull over on the highway late at night and was stranded. The transmission failed and the issue code is p1890. I found details on this known issue here: https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2016/mc-10084981-2280. Pdf there is no recall but it is a known issue, and I believe it is dangerous for Honda to allow these cars to remain on the road without new transmissions. According to the link I posted before, the only fix is a new transmission. I believe this should be issued as a recall so other Accord owners (2014-2016 years) do not face the same problem as I did. This problem was fix in 2017. There was no physical damage done to the car and the car received routine maintenance. T.

I was driving at about 40 mph and the car lost all power and stopped in the middle of the road. Most all of the warning lights were on like low air pressure, reduced brakes and a brake problem light etc. Turned the car off and restarted and drove another 5 miles with the brake problem light still on. Stopped and restarted car and the brake light went off and all seems normal now. From my reading on Honda Accord forums it might be a bad icm unit? will be contacting a Honda dealer soon.

I was on the highway with moderate traffic. My car would no longer accelerate due to a blown head gasket out of nowhere, I was on the far left lane and had to traverse over 5 lanes in moderate traffic while other drivers on the highway were going 60+ mph. This is a common issue among Honda Accords with the 1. 5 engines.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, there was an abnormal metal-on-metal grinding sound coming from under the floorboards. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 280,000.
The cvt power train has a vibration at 55 and over. Also when backing up there is a loud high pitched sound. The car has only 8600 hundred miles. There is no excuse for this issue with the car. Thanks for your time.
I believe my vehicle should be included in a recall (safety recall: 2013-15 Accord driveshaft inspection) that it is not currently included in. This is a major safety concern that the recall may not include all affected vehicles including mine. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? right driveshaft snapped while I was driving rendering the vehicle without propulsion, as well as allowing the vehicle to roll while in park how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? this occurred while I was driving and I lost the ability to move the vehicle. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes the Honda dealership confirmed the driveshaft snapped. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have a picture of the snapped driveshaft and the Honda dealership inspected it and provided me with a description of the issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

Mid October 2023, we driving on the freeway and the car started to slow down on its own. We could not accelerate to match the speed of cars around us or to get the speed limits in a 55 to 65 zone, making it dangerous for us and others to continue driving on the freeway at extremely slow/low speeds. We towed it the dealership, who said it was defective spark plugs. This car was only 4 years old with extremely low millage and the spark plugs should've last a lot longer. They changed the spark plugs under warranty. Late November 2024, we were getting off the freeway and the check engine light came on but there were no service codes. Everything was running normally except for the engine was making a loud noise. We parked at a shopping center and approximately 30 minutes later, restarted the car and all these messages and icons appeared for: vehicle stability assistant system problem, hill start assistant problem, acc, collision mitigation breaking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem, tpms, brake system problem, electric power steering system problem. Towed it dealership and after an hour of diagnostics testing, they said it’s the spark plugs again! just a little over a year and 2 out of 4 spark plugs are bad again. This is not right. We hardly drive this car and it’s only a little over a year since the spark plugs were replaced and a little over 5 years since we got the car brand new. Spark plugs are supposed to last 10 years or 100,000 miles and we’re not close to either. This time they said it's not covered under warranty and is over $800.
While driving on the highway with my family on Tuesday, [xxx] the continuously variable transmission (cvt) failed and created a dangerous and hazardous situation for my family and others on the road. The d3 warning light and check engine light appeared and simultaneously the vehicle shifted to a lower gear. The vehicle was only operable at a lower speed and gear. We called the nearest Honda dealership for guidance, and they advised us to proceed slowly to the dealership. We drove the very stressful distance with our hazard lights on the entire way while we drove at a lower rate of speed on the highway. This slow rate of speed also posed a hazard as well. The vehicle was serviced and inspected by the manchester Honda in manchester, CT, and they determined that a transmission replacement was necessary due to an internal failure of transmission assy causing drivability concern. The vehicle had only 69,382 miles and was properly maintained. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
