The trunk lid, when opened, does not always stay up. Occasionally, after the lid has been opened, it will start to close. In at least two or three instances, the lid came down and hit me on the upper forehead. The problem appears to be due to a marginal strength spring that may be due to a design defect or a defective spring.

I've a 2000 Honda Accord. After driving for 4-5 years, the trunk kept popping up every where I went. I had to pull over, closed the trunk and it would pop open again. I bought the car to several mechanics and they weren't able to fix it. I am about to replace the lock in the trunk in order to keep it lock. Under normal wear and tear, the lock in the trunk shouldn't break like that.

I have a 2004 ex v-6 Accord coupe. I have had the vehicle in the shop numerous times. I had the car for 1 week it had 175 miles on it and the check engine light came on. All six pistons were misfiring. I have had the car in 3 times now for excessive noise on the drivers side window. The dealership fixed it once and told me that some noise is normal. . (my 76 Honda civic doesn't even make as much noise as this car does) the check engine light comes on and blinks and goes off has done this numerous times. Dealership resets it and says that it is ok. I have also had the car in 2 times because it won't start. Dealership says to turn key to first click to let the fuel injection lines fill with fuel. It doesn't work. I am taking it back to the dealership once again tomorrow because the trunk doesn't latch correctly. . What a dissappointment this car has been and its not even a year old. . I will never buy another Honda again. The quality has gone severely down hill.

Upon reaching into truck, and not realizing that the trunk lid had opened fully, I rammed my head into the trunk lock, causing a mild concussion. This caused me to be off work for 4 days. I am glad that the lock had a plastic cover or I would have surely split my head open. Thank you .
